Again it seemed that things had gotten rather busy around D-corp and once again Madeline had been called in to help out with immunizations. It wasn't a job she particularly enjoyed, but one that certainly allowed her to meet many wonderful children.

A tap at the door. Ah, that must be her appoitment. "Pleaze come in," the blonde said shuffling over to get shots ready.

Cody tipped his hat politely as the lady answered the door, offering her a cutrious "Ma'am." Before clopping his way into the room. Winter had told him that she'd be right outside with the car- he was getting shots. She failed to specify that shots didn't mean he was going to get a new pair of actual guns, she figured he'd never leave the house if he knew there'd be needles involved, he cried just seeing them on the television as a kid.

"Ya th' one that's gonna give me mah shots?" He glanced over, crossing his arms over his chest.

Placing a perfect finger to her lips Madeline smiled gently and gave a nod of approval, "Such wonderful manners for someone your age."

A bull, hmm...she couldn't quite remember all what shots children with DNA of a mammal needed. Was it four or five?...Maybe it was six.

" 'An yes, I'll be giving you your shots today. Name is Ms. Crossette, but you may call me Madeline. If you'll go ahead and take a seat over there," She pointed to the examination table. "I'll gladly get them ready for you."

Busily, Madeline walked over to the cabinet where Medical supplies were held. Heals clacked nosily on the tile of the white floor, "So what's your name little stranger?" Madeline couldn't help but ask. Of course she already knew from Cody's files but it was good to start some sort of conversation.

Cody tipped his hat again and scampered to take a seat where he was indicated. "Thank 'ye kindly. I'm excited. Been waitin' a long time. Winter said I could if I was good. Musta' done somethin' right." His tail swished behind him, ooh he'd look so cool with a pair of pistols at his side- just like a real cowboy. Just think of the look on Keanu's face.

"Ah I'm Cody, Ma'am." He puffed out his chest, "An' I'm gonna be th' strongest kid in this here place. Jus' you wait. I'll put mah 'shots' tah good use."

Madeline couldn't help but laugh as her back was still turned, busy fussing with needles. "Get them if you were good? My, my you must certainly want to be a strong healthy little boy. I've never heard of someone so happy to get there shots."

With that last line she finished and turned around with the tray of needles in her hands. Click-clack-tap, Madeline walked over and set the tray down on the available shelf next to her. Let's see, in the arms should be fine enough. Luckily she hadn't met another kid like Simon, someone who had such thick skin the injections had to be given in his stomach. Cody didn't have quite as much fur as Keanu either.

Five shots altogether. This should be a snap.

He nodded, "I'mma be the biggest n' strongest kid 'ere. Keanu an' I are gonna brawl lots tah keep our-....." He paused, looking to the objects clattering around on the tray that she was bringing forward. His eyes rounded out as he watched her approach, both ears flopped downard as if they'd lost all feeling in them. Needles...

The bull boy's eye twitched. He knew those things... he saw them on TV. The doctors poked them into people's skin with the sharp shiney part and took out their blood or put stuff into them.

It was almost as if something suddenly snapped with him. The blank almost pale expression turned into one of rage, both eyes narrowed and the boy gave a heavy snort around his nose ring, his entire body tensing.

Busily still fiddling around here and there Madeline didn't notice something was wrong. At least not at first. When Cody began to drift off with his speech speech, she prompted with a continuing line, but didn't bother looking up. "Oh? To keep your what?" Now where did she put those medical gloves? It simply wasn't sanitary to handle needles with out gloves on. Dangerous too, for both patient and doctor.

"Cody?" Madeline looked up, now slightly worried that she didn't get a reply. A moment ago the child had been chattering happily away, now he was dead silent. The expression on the child's face didn't install much confidence either. "I--is every thing all right?" Nervously the teacher raised her hands to her face, a bad habit she had picked up long ago.

What was the matter? Any other child and she would have assumed, that Cody was simply afraid of getting his vaccinations. Yet, only moments ago he had been going on and on, about how prepared and ready he was.

It seemed as if the blood drained from her face when Cody suddenly snorted. An aggressive child? ...No, he had been so sweet before. What? What could be setting him off? Following his gaze, Madeline watched his eyes to pin-point her towards the object of his madness...the small tray besides her.

Inside the teacher felt herself choke and she had to swallow hard to remove the lump from the back of her throat. "Cody, what's the matter sweet heart?" Slowly, ever so slowly, Madeline backed her way towards the door of examination room. Keeping her eyes on the child, the teacher reached behind her blindly fiddling with the latch of the door until it was locked.

There would be no escape.

It was a trick! Shots weren't guns they were NEEDLES! She was gonna poke him and drain his blood! Maybe even take his brain out or something even worse... Maybe Winter had been on it too to punish him for picking fights at school with the teacher or sneaking around in D-Corp and getting caught by the paper bag man. Or even Edan! Maybe he was in on it to get him back for tackeling him...no it couldn't be. The kid was bright but he wouldn't think of something this odd.

Both ears flicked upwards as the latch snapped shut. Trapped... it was a trap! He snorted angerly again and gave a very bull-like bellow, throwing his legs out in front of him to kick at the stand where the tray'd been set. He didn't like being trapped, he didn't like needles, and most of all he didn't like being tricked. "YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE YA VAMPIRE!"

For heavens sake, Madeline didn't know what to expect, but she certainly wasn't expecting such an outburst! The woman was nearly a veteran of vaccinations by now, kicked by a leopard, cursed at by a shark, nearly bitten by a cobra, but of all the children she had to deal with..."V-vampire?"

Biting her lip Madeline, cautiously made her way back towards the little boy. "Cody, I think your confused, sweet heart...I'm not going to hurt you...I only want to help you. Shots are good for you, they make you stronger. You know, stronger, just like you want to be?"

Stretching out her hands, which happened to be shaking, Madeline made a first attempt at calming the little boy down. "Come here it's all right..." It sure sounded convincing, especially coming from Madeline of all people. But would it work?

Cody shook his head, backing himself up on the chair he had seated himself on, succeeding only to slide himself back into a wall. The thud of the chair against the wall only caused him to spook a bit more and jump up from the seat, his chest heaving from the tension. He had an odd look in his eyes, something almost ferril about it, never once leaving the needles. "I know yer kind, yer gonna suck mah blood out dry an' keep it in a were house fer yer kind tah drink up whenever ya want!"

Okay he wasn't thinking clearly, the lady had been so nice but Cody was a proud kid and hated to be afraid, even worse was knowing that someone around him knew that he was afraid. "Don't touch me with them there things!"

All right, all right, calm down Madeline. The woman stopped where she was. Getting closer to Cody wasn't going to be helping any. At least he sounded like he wasn't as panicked as he had been two seconds ago?

Oh, Madeline, such wishful thinking. Taking a deep breath, the woman cleared her mind and then looked up to the child. No longer was her face was full of sugar and sweetness. Her features now stern cold looking, were far from plesant, but showed a hint of deep concern. If option A (winning Cody over with honey) didn't work, and it didn't seem like it would...well then it was time to get serious with option B. Folding her arms across her chest, Madeline could feel her temper rising slightly. "Cody, I'm not sure where you got such silly ideas. But one way or another, I'm not letting you leave this office with out your shotz!" Her speech slurred slightly on that last line, something that happened when she was angry.

"...I will not have any you dying of measles!"

"Ain't scared o' no weasles!" Cody snorted angerly, his own eyes narrowing hard on hers. She wasn't being nice anymore, he didn't like the tone she was taking. That was more important than what was actually being said. His ears pinned back against his head and he ducked his head down, threatoning her with those horns of his, "If ya stick me I'll stick ya right back, fair's fair. I ain't gettin' no blood sucked outta me or nothin'."

He was slowly pulling his legs under him, curling down onto his hooves.

It seemd that Madeline would be the type of woman to cower in fear in these sorts of situations, and let someone else take over it. Like one of the D-techs, for example. Yet, the pretty blonde had a way of flaking with these sort of things, one moment she could be in tears, but the next all fire and brimstone. It was her stubborn temper. "I wile not have you dying of something zat waz preventable!" The woman stommped her foot, with a final word. No child was going to get sick while under her care.

With a huff Madeline, turned around and glanced over at the counter. Chlorophorme, chlorophorme...where did that bottle go? Not there...drats. It seemed that she would have to do this a different way. Shaking her blonde curls Madeline reached for one of the needles on the floor and before Cody could say anything, had picked it up slipped the needle in her arm. Careful...she had to be careful about this. It wouldn't matter if she simply stuck the thing in and out, but if her hand slipped and some of the vacination were to be injected-- A slight inhale of breath, and crystal blue eyes were back on Cody. " Do you see...it's not that bad," she was calmer now,a bite of her lip before she removed the syringe and tossed it aside. "There's only a little blood, nothing much."

Cody watched the woman sharply, grinding his teeth as she pretty much scolded him. He wasn't quite old enough to understand that shots made people healthy. On TV they were never really used for good. The bad guys put the needles in the good guys to make them fall asleep or to take their blood. Either way it didn't change the fact that it was a needle, a small pointy thing that went into the skin. A cut, sure Cody could handle a cut, or a bruise, a bloody nose, a scrape... but a needle...

He didn't seem very convinced by the small performance and only gave a loud, defiant snort in response, now crouching where he sat, tense as a bowstring and hulked up into his shoulders.

Well...? Madeline frowned as Cody seemed to be unenthused. Fine, fine if that was how it was going to be. "Well Cody, seeing as how you are being most uncooperative, I'm afraid I have no choice but to let you go." With a most un-satisfying huff she pulled the shot from her arm and tossed it to the ground.

"You may leave," Blue eyes flashed fiercely, but indeed she looked as if to keep her word and folded her arms. With an ever constant chilling glare, Madeline followed Cody to the door. But if the little boy thought it was going to be that simple---

The moment Cody turned his head, the woman hit the little boy with a flying tackle.

It had just become a one on one smack down and Madeline was simply pissed enough that she didn't care if coming home tonight, meant coming home with more than a few scratches.
