Hey all! Im attending one of the MTG regional competitions this year and i wanted to know who else might be and what deck they plan on running post-saviors. I would post mine but im not sure i want to give away my masterful tweaks to a VERY common T2 deck. Yea...that damn pithing needle better get banned fast or im gonna be upset...

Pithing Needle won't get banned. It's a low cost artifact in an environment that is full of Artifact hate still, that isn't totally game breaking. If you end up running Tooth, just add Splinter into your sideboard.

I'm gonna go for Red Deck Wins, since I have a personal dislike of Tooth.

Low cost artifact means "no ban"? ::cough cough:: (skullclamp) ::cough cough:: Plus...my secret is out...lol, i am playing tooth and i use creeping mold in my side. As for red deck wins...if i could have voted for the poll twice, once for 1st and once for 2nd then red would definatly be second. It dominates like everything except decks with jitte. With the exception of my friends who at friday night magic last week went 8-0-0 because he uses jitte. Can you say "Umezawa Firewalker"? He also sided quick artifact hate and some have moved away from that but now the pithing will be in, im sure more will side hate for it. It will definatly effect the whole format. Every deck uses activated abilities big time...exceot tooth. You get rid of kiki-jiki? Wow...im not scared...ill just kill you one turn later. Tooth isnt an activated ability and neither is colossus or titan. So...game over. As for all the other ones...here we go. Mono blue: shackles and meloko. Red: slogger, kumano, and vulshok sorcerer. Beacon: sword of fire and ice. Black: shortfang. White weenie: jitte and aether vial. Also, anything else that uses jitte. Oh, and it stops mind slaver in tooth i forgot...cause i doesnt matter. You see my point. To be honest, i think it should be the first restricted card in T2...

How exactly do you do that?...i play tooth on turn 3 consistantly. My deck uses something different then everyone elses...some saviors influence if you will... mrgreen

I'm playing a version of red, which works better than I could have ever imagined. I'm still tweaking it and it's getting better.

Let me ask you something....

How can you be proud of Tooth and Nail when it's not even your deck. It's a deck some Japanese team thought of and won a tournament with, and got posted on the internet. I mean...what pride is there in piloting a deck you haven't made? I don't care what "tech" you're running, but you're probably just using what you saw on the internet to speed up tooth. There's nothing honorable about playing a net-deck, my friend.

Yeah, I've played net decks in my time. Affinity, High Tide, Trix, etc, but I never took a whole lot of pride in my playing of them. I feel best playing decks I create, and winning with those decks against b*****d net deckers makes me feel extremely good.

Now, with all this bragging of your Tooth deck, have you thought about how much creature kill and a well-placed Barter in Blood ******** you up? What happens when your Urza-tron gets Sowing Salted away? What if a Mono Blue Control player sides in THEIR boseiju to mess with you even more? What happens when your Tooth is Quashed? Cranial Extractioned? How does it feel when someone goes "2nd turn, Persecute naming green" and your hand just drops into the graveyard. What about recurrant Plow Under? Eternal Witness/Plow Under/Stampeding Serow is a big combo now in green. And you know green is the most played color.

Ya know..I hope you 3rd turn tooth me. That way, you have nothing in the way of my Barter in Blood, and I lose hardly any tempo. I hope you realize how unstable Tooth is, and how much people are sideboarding against you everywhere. Just because you can beat your little friends at the card shop doesn't mean you're worth s**t. So, don't give me this Net-decker's hubris b.s.
