The dark colored Kalona found himself gliding through the chilled air of upcoming winter, scanning the land frantically. So far, he'd only met two mares, both of which weren't the mare he was searching for. He frowned, wondering if only mares roamed this wide area; he had yet to see another stallion, let alone any Kalona. Again, his eyes scanned quickly before he made for a graceful landing in a clear area.

This area was fairly warm, though he knew its temperature would soon change. He pawed the ground to get a feel, and then sensed that he wasn't alone. He glanced around, tensed a bit, and braced himself. He wasn't threatened, but he knew there was someone out there... somewhere.

Tawali had been grazing nearby, minding his own business. His red tipped wings were tucked tight to his body, head lowered to the last remains of green grass, champing happily on the succulent blades. His braided red tail flicked idly, his red mane hanging around his neck, obscuring his head and face. The brightly coloured feathers attached to his mane and tail drew the eyes toward glistening markings of his flanks and throat. The leather wrapping on his leg held two more, smaller feathers that wavered in the breeze, along with the two at his chest, dangling from his dreamcatcher. Tawali was known as 'The Wild Child' by some of the Soquili he had met, which was the meaning of his name, 'Tawali'.

At the sound of hooves landing behind him, Tawali's head rose, only to be greeted with the sight of a large, black stallion that looked more then a little intimidating. Large, draconic wings held Tawali's attention first off, but he soon looked to the blond to red mane and tail that hung in thick braids that seemed to trail forever. The stallion had a pair of bony horns and sharp red hooves, as well as demonic red eyes. The tribal marking on his hindquarters and neck had him cowering. What was this beast? Red bandages and black wire adorned him, and Tawali shrank visably at the sight of the creature. Tawali glanced around, attempting to find some method of escape, but unless he ran through the trees, the only way was up, and such a strong looking creature with the huge wingspan it had made him think twice. He had nowhere to run, he'd be caught damn near instantly. Tawali swallowed hard. What the hell was he gonna do?! Swallowing his fear back down, hoping his heart would stop hammering, Tawali plucked up courage.

"Can Ah' 'elp ya frien'?"

He soon noticed a Wind stallion grazing nearby, before he looked up and fear crossed over the stallion's eyes for but a moment. Windflame frowned. He hadn't expected to be intimidating--not that he couldn't be intimidating--but he slowly relaxed. This stallion meant no harm, and so he nodded to him. He folded his giant, black, batwings against his body tightly; there was no need to frighten the male to death; besides, he was relieved to finally see another stallion on this gigantic, lone island.

T/b]he male was bright colored, with blue, red, green, white... etc. He couldn't believe that there could be someone so... well, outmatched with the grass. Someone who could be spotted so easily--had he been in true hunting mode--and could be taken down with ease, all because of his colors. When the stallion spoke, his odd speech caught Windflame a bit off guard. "Didst thou speak of helping this one?" he questioned, hoping he got that right. "Friend? Perhaps, if thou wishes it."

When the large Stallion spoke, Tawali's face pulled into a look of sheer confusion. Ok, some people though his speech was weird! This Stallion was just plain strange all over!! Tawali had heard of such Soquili, Kalona if he remembered correctly, and they were said to eat meet. Tawali's small smile faultered a little as he took a step forward toward the Kalona. The Stallion had visably relaxed, which made Tawali relax a little. Perhaps he wasn't hunting, if that story was true of Kalonas. Although the Stallion was obviously eyeing him, Tawali felt a little less threatened. He knew if he was to be on the dinner menu today, he'd give the beast a run for his money. Tawali wasn't known as the Wild One for no reason. He knew the forest like the back of his hoof, even after his short time here, and he knew the places a nibble Soquili like himself could zip into, which a large, bulky Kalona like this one could not follow him through.

"Yeah frien', t'is wha' I said." Tawali's eyes narrowed, getting a feel for the large Soquili. "An' 'elp is offered on'y if'n ya's needin' it. Ya's lost? Or is ya's jus' lookin' for some'n? Maybe's Ah could help'n you?" Tawali grinned, hoping he didn't sound too nervous. "If'n I wish it eh?" Tawali chuckled at the Stallion's offer. "Well, if'n tha's the case, Ah's s'posin' Ah should name meself!" Tawali let another chuckle leave him. "Ah's known as T'wali roun' 'ere! T'wali by name, T'wali by nature, tha's me!" He smirked, and stood a little taller, wings ruffling out, red tips wavering. "Some call's me the Wild One! Ya might'a heard'a me."

He stared a bit at the Wind stallion, surprised to see that there was another Soquili who had strange speech. He could barely understand what he was saying, this... "T'wali"... His mouth twitched with amusement. He thought that since the mares in this strange land weren't scared of him, neither were the males. Perhaps he was wrong...? Or again, maybe males just had a better sense than the females. He was officially relaxed now, though he still kept a an awareness for his surroundings; he hated surprises, and surprise attacks were a completely unwanted and unwelcomed event.

"Thou art strange, dost thou knoweth?" he answered, managing to keep his calm. "This one ist not lost, merely on a search. Mayhap thou woulds't agree to help this one in mine quest?" Or maybe it was just better for him to search by himself... "Wild One? Forgive this one, but this one hast never heard of thee; this one ist new to the land." He thought for a little moment. "What kind of breed art thou?" He just knew that this Soquili had wings, feathered... and he only knew of one other kind, the common Soquili, who had no horns or wings or split, sharpened hooves.

Although Tawali snorted at the way the Kalona said his name, it dawned on him that he had said it that way in his haste. Laughing at his own folly, Tawali shook his head and smirked.

"Nah nah, K'lona! Ta-War-Lee!" Tawali said the name phonetically in order for the Kalona to get it, slowly so that each sound was said correctly, though his own accent made it a little difficult. "Ah's a Wind Soq'li, feather'd, ligh' and damn fast! We's Wind certainly is quick! We's no'h likely to be beat by none!" He chuckled and flicked his braided tail, the feathers and beads clicking a little. "An' ya's... Ya's a K'lona. Tha's no'h hard to see, ya's big, ya's black and ya's go'h the wings offa bat!" He chuckled, inclining his head to the white horns. "An a'course them there beasties!" Tawali chuckled.

"If'n it is a quest'a findin' some'n, then Ah'll gladly helps ya!" Tawali peered around the clearing, making sure there was no one in the vicinity that the Kalona may be looking for. "Oh, n' wha's ya name biggun?"
