Binti'Sokota Info:
Name: Binti'Sokota "Daughter of the Wind" Gender: Female Stage: Adult (to see her cub stage, click -will update to include juvie/ado stages too <3) Rank/Affiliation: Rogue Friends/Travelling Companions: Us'kali, Shujaa, History:
From the moment she was born, her mother recognized that there was something...different about her daughter. Whereas the rest of her litter were all average looking, Binti was BORN with odd markings that swirled gracefully across her coat, giving her a distinct appearance. She also noted, with some reservation, that her newly born daughter was...fiercely independent, almost from the moment she was born. The newly born cub had, even before learning how to walk, tried many times to CRAWL away from the warmth and security represented by her mother and siblings. It was thus that, with a wry expression, her mother conferred onto her the name Binti'Sokota...daughter of the wind.
As Binti grew, she remained the odd-cub out, as she preferred spending time alone, showing an interest in hunting for small animals for herself far before any of the other cubs had even really ventured out of the den. She also liked climbing up onto high places, a habit that worried both of her parents, but one that she indulged in anyway, saying only that she liked to listen to the sound of the wind as it ruffled her fur.
As she grew yet a bit more (still a cub, but now about the age of Nala and Simba when they visit the elephant graveyard in the original Lion King), Binti made more extended forays out into the savannah surrounding her pride's denning area, honing her hunting skills, although she was, by this time, almost as good at catching small creatures like birds, mice, and other creatures of a comparative size than most of the full-grown lionesses of the pride. However, she showed no real inclination to leave for good, until the day she met a full-grown rogue male lion while on one of her wanderings. Luckily, she was able to put the dexterity she'd acquired hunting small animals to good use, and escaped with her life. Although the rogue failed in his attempt to defeat her father in a fight, she realized that, as long as she wandered about alone, the fact that she was a cub of the current king would put her at risk from any others who strove for his position. A few days later, she left in the middle of the night, stopping only to nose lightly at her mother in farewell, her touch so soft that the sleeping lioness thought it was only the wind...Makadara Name: Makadara "Might (of God), omnipotence (of God), power (of God), influence, power, strength" Parents: Mfereji (mother; Running Water) x ? (rogue male) Gender: Male Stage: Adult Rank/Affiliation: Mistweaver (now Rogue) Friends/Travelling Companions: None History: Born into the Mistweaver pride to one of the lower-ranking huntresses, he was a juvenile on the border of adolescence when the pride began to fall off in numbers from the prolongued drought. He was young enough that he saw nothing suspicious in his mother's telling him that it was time for him to leave the pride for a time, to see more of life outside of the mistweaver borders.
It was thus that he not only escaped death from the prolongued drought, but missed the abduction of Dama, and the arrival of what was the "new" mistweavers. In his absence, he wandered far, passing through the jungles, the plains, and various pridal lands. He held himself apart, careful not to interact with any, although he observed much. It was in this setting that he grew into adulthood, his chubby childish body morphing into a lithe, lean adult lion, all corded muscle and fluffy mane. Finally, he felt worthy of returning home. And so his dusty paws began to retrace the path homeward, not realizing how much things had changed in his absence.Ausi'jabali Name: Ausi'jabali "black rock" Gender: Male Stage: Adult Rank/Affiliation: Maliki of the Mwezi'kivuli Friends/Travelling Companions: Siri'bakunja, Anga'njiwa*, Renji*, Nasibu (* denotes that the custom/lion has not yet been created, although they are part of the pridal concept) History: It all began with the Ardhi'bedui (Earth Pilgrims), a nomadic pride of lions who walked the lands in search of paradise, a land they could call their own. Many great kings entered and left the earth before this land was found. Soon, the lions began to forget where it was they came from. Some of the Ardhi'bedui were born with dark fur, some with white. Those born with white were trained to hunt during the day and those with dark fur to hunt at night. This created a symbiotic circle and kept everyone healthy and fed. But it also kept them segregated and discrimination began to arise. Eventually the tension started to drive the groups apart. The day hunters considered themselves blessed by the Sun and more worthy than the night hunters, and the night hunters thought the same, toting themselves the children of the Moon.
As a final blow to the unity of the tribe, the Maliki passed on from illness as they began crossing the great mountain, leaving his Kipenzi with child. The pride sought shelter for the time when the Queen would give birth, and at the very break of dawn, when both the sun and moon were peeking through the sky, the pride was greeted with not one, but two heirs. Murmurs filled the cave when the mewling cubs, a black son and a white daughter, opened their eyes for the first time. The daughter's eyes were gold and shone like the sun, and the son's eyes were a silvery blue that glowed like the moon. A day hunter shouted, "It's a sign! The girl is meant to rule in the name of the Sun!" And a night hunter replied, "The boy clearly carries the mark of the Moon! We cannot think to defy our god!" Soon the pride erupted into argument over the two children, and as they stood bickering, the mother of the cubs quietly passed on.
When all was said and done, the pride split, the day hunters taking young princess higher up the mountain and calling themselves the Jua'nuru, and the night hunters taking the prince to the caves at the base of the great mountain, adopting the name Mwezi'kivuli. As the two groups began their new, separated lives, they reached many troubles. The Mwezi'kivuli found themselves thwarted during their attempts to hunt in the day, the sun's light shining brightly against their dark coats and sabotaging their attempts to remain hidden. The Jua'nuru found it too difficult to see in the dark of night; the moon was surely dimming itself to impair them! Many of the original pride members died out from the famine as food became scarce and they became exhausted from their failed attempts, all the while blaming each other for their shortcomings. The hatred and prejudice between the two new prides secured the fate of both. Whether or not they might be able to look past their differences to find the common bond they share is unknown...
Ausi'jabali is the son of the last king of the Ardhi'bedui, and twin brother to Safi'theluji. Ausi was born second, and seems to have a chip on his shoulder when it comes to his sister. Why is it the Jua'nuru live above, dancing in the sky with the gods? Why did the Sun choose her over him?.. He is content knowing that the Moon protects his kin, but even that is not enough when his clan is starving. Like Safi, responsibility was thrust onto Ausi at a dangerously early age, many looked to him for guidance, believing that the Moon would give him the answers and make him wise. Although still very young, the pressure of ruling has turned him bitter and cold. He hides his fears behind a wall, showing his subjects only strength and perseverance. But this can only last so long; his kin are starving, and one day he will make a fatal mistake. On that day, the wall will crumble...Siasa'busara Name: Siasa'busara "cautious wisdom" Gender: Female Stage: Cub Rank/Affiliation: Goddess of Wisdom; Rogue Friends/Travelling Companions: none, as yet History:

Athari Info:
Name: Athari "Spot" Gender: Male Stage: Adult Rank/Affiliation: Rogue Friends/Travelling Companions: Dhahabu'choka (although they haven't officially met via RP yet >3) History:
Athari was born and raised by a mother who was far more affectionate than most, which, oddly enough, made him more independent than most, because he railed against the constraints she'd placed upon him, unlike his siblings. However, this...odd upbringind has made him more likely to accept closeness with others than your average leopard (hence his travelling with Taku and Chakavu XD).
Then, one day, seemingly without provocation, his mother told him it was time for him to forge his own path...so he did, feeling rather betrayed by the whole event. However, shortly after he stumbled into the pridelands, determined to reach the unclaimed lands west of them, he ran into Chakavu and Taku. Because it was pouring rain, the trio sought shelter amidst the roots of a large tree, the only shelter visible at the time. Soon, they were joined by Mufasa, and, although Athari was wary/feeling threatened by the massive lion's presence initially, when he found out who Mufasa was, he was stricken by an acute case of hero worship, and so, when Mufasa offered to accompany Chakavu, Athari and Taku (actually, the offer was to carry Athari and Taku) back to Pride Rock to ride out the storm, he accepted, although he was uncomfortable with the idea of being in such close proximity to an entire pride of lions.
Chakavu, however, said that she had something else to do first, and so left the two young'uns with Mufasa and took flight. Athari and Taku, however, accompanied Mufasa to Pride Rock, and, when Mufasa was called away for a bit to converse with a jackal, they decided it was time to explore the caves...Us'kali Galu'nadi Info:
Name: Us'kali Galu'nadi Gender: Female Stage: Adult (deceased) Rank/Affiliation: Adu'ladi/Sky Clan Friends/Travelling Companions: n/a Description: Light brown with off-white points and black tattoos. White tail. Purple eyes. History:
Us'kali is the old adu'ladi of the Sky Clan, and has seen far too many winters. Her mate is long dead of the Plague, and two of her children are dead, as well as most of her clan. She is Ina'li's strongest supporter and strong right hand in times of need; but her energy is falling short, and she spends more time sleeping than anything. She's an amazing storyteller, however, and when the clans meet together, often tell stories to the children of the spirits or the glory days of their clan. She misses her mate dearly, who had been the former wanidatsi.
Frustrated with the pride seeming to fall apart around her, Us'kali left, taking to the southlands, where she met up with Binti, a youngster with a smart mouth and a foul temper. In time, her son Ama found her, and the trio, eventually, made their way back to the Ela'wadiyi pridal lands, where Us'kali got herself pregnant, feeling it was important to keep the bloodline going. She died giving birth to five cubs, who she left in Binti's care.Woha'li Galu'nadi Name: Woha'li "Eagle" Galu'nadi Gender: Female Stage: Juvenile Rank/Affiliation: Ela'wadiyi/Sky Clan Youth Friends/Travelling Companions: Binti, Ama, remaining Ela pride members. History:
One of the five cubs that Us'kali died giving birth to, she, along with her siblings, was left in the care of Binti. Independent, out of them all, Woha'li seems to take most directly after their surrogate mother, although her fierceness is tempered by a more thoughtful sort of wisdom, something she seems to have inherited from her deceased mother.Damu'jiwe Name: Damu'jiwe "blood stone" Gender: Male Stage: Adult Rank/Affiliation: Rogue Friends/Travelling Companions: n/a History:

Currently, Binti is in the southlands, and has just met up with Essien...but it wasn't on the...best of terms that they first encountered one another. xd . ((she thought he was prey *giggle*))
Shortly afterwards, she decided to teach him to hunt...o.O. Of course, Essien, who had naturally assumed that she, as a lioness, would hunt FOR him, was a bit surprised at her stubborness. xd

Binti recently encountered more of the...youths who've managed to stumble into the southlands recently. Of course, she's already run poor Laio away from the watering hole...however, she respected the young cheetahs guts enough that she stalked off after her, followed closely by a muchly abused Essien (she's been oh-so-crabby with the poor thing xd )

Athari, after following Mufasa back to the pride rock (along with taku! heart ), spent most of his time there nervously expecting to be eaten. Or something. However, after spending awhile there, he said goodbye to Chakavu, Mufasa, and Taku (for now...and it was done politely), and struck out on his own. Having caught wind of the unclaimed jungles, that's where he's headed now. heart .

Yawning, Us'kali looked around the following morning, and, seeing no one else, lifted her majestic head high to scent the air. Detecting none of her other pride members, she made a decision that she had been toying with for quite some time--it was time for her to leave the pride, and to wander freely. She would cling tightly to her beliefs, and bore her tattoos proudly...but there came a time in any leadership figure's life where she had to step away, and let the pride manage on its own, and to leave the running of things in the hands of the youth.
Decision made, she nodded once, and got to her feet, shaking her fur out briskly, feeling more energized than she had since the death of her mate. With one last lingering glance over the lands that she had long since called home, she padded off in a southerly direction, every detail of her surroundings firmly implanted in her mind-the way the sun dappled the stream behind her, the way the dirt felt as it dug into the bottoms of her aged paws...even the way her breath felt as it left her lungs. Her only regret was in not saying good bye to Ama, who had always looked out for her, even though her admittedly reduced fitness still would have allowed her to function almost normally--maybe a bit more've a rest when hunting, or taking a long journey...but, he had always been there to offer encouragement even in her lonliness hours--which was as much as any mother could ask of a cub.
With a flick of her white-tipped tail, the violet-eyed lioness commenced what would be the second extended journey of her lifetime, although she greeted this one with far more enthusiasm than her last.

Binti's growing up...somewhat. She met Hidalgo and Asikari recently, and managed to pick at Hidalgo, prompting him to respond in irritation--then Asikari did the same to her, so no real love lost there. However, she's come respect 'kali at least somewhat, and seems to be becoming something less of a wounded bear than she used to be.
She also met Shujaa, and surprisingly, took to him famously--whether due to loneliness because she still misses Essi, or simply because she recognized something of herself in him, no one, not even Binti, knows why she actually invited him to travel with her and Us'kali...

Athari just met Tamani, Amari and Bakhti, and isn't quite sure what to make of them--he seems to have formed an almost instant dislike of Bakhti, and seems to have taken Tamani's side when talking to the pair of lions that he's encountered in the jungle, but only time will tell how that will all work out.
