I hope I'm doing this right.... x__X; Yeh. I'm just going to go a head and post a topic...
The Legend of Chun Hyang...
The first time I saw this it was about.... three years ago. There were no translations on the internet, so I attempted to translate the thing myself.
And... I didn't get very far at all. sweatdrop
I had translated the title into saying "Shin Shyunkaden" ... though... o O; For some reason.... because that's what the Hiragana down the side of the Kanji said.... *shrugs*
Anyways... it's been driving me crazy but...... WHAT IS THIS THING ABOUT?!?!!?
It's been sitting in my room for three years and I still don't understand what's going on! Now I find they've translated it, but I'm not going to buy it again. x__X; So phwee. I ask of my fellow CLAMP-a-holics...
I think there are a lot of Korean concepts in it though... A friend of mine was looking over my shoulder while I was looking at it one day and she said the guy and the girl in one part of the book were dressed in Korean attire that was used during weddings...
Interesting.... >.'

The Legend of Chung Hyang is based VERRRRY loosely on a Korean legend in which a girl falls in love with a boy of high authority. For some reason, they can't get married, so she rebels, and is eventually killed.
The CLAMP Chung Hyang, though, is a young martial arts fighter. xp She meets her luff, and they go on adventures and stuff. In the first chapter, her mom dies. ;_;

I NEVER expected to see this thing in English!" Mostly because I could never find a site with translations.... crying Just like that other one... "The One I Love" .... o O;;;;;;;;; I mean... whoa... these people know they've got something with all this manga and they are ringing out as much money as they can with it....

sakuramochiii I've seen it in stores before, but I didn't know if it was good... do you think that it's worth buying? Hmmm. It's the only book of its series. So it won't end up being expensive. xd The art is really neat. And the weapons too. Yeah, I'd get it. 3nodding There are dragons and tigers. : D

It's the only book of its series.
Wait a second are your telling me that there is only one manga out there (Japan and America)! The story is not anywhere near done or in anyway concluded when the first book ends. Where are you getting your info.

THERE IS NO 'NEXT ONE'! CLAMP wrote this one as a one shot, and it doesn't have a sequel or a next volume. It was a one shot. The dragon was the dragon god of rain Yongsin, and the tiger is a magical beast summoned by Am Hang Osa.

I saw Chun Hyang, but I don't remember her mom... I love Chun Hyang, but I really wish they hadn't made a one shot which seems to need to be continued...

I haven't read it yet. I have some of the art in the CLAMP artbook though. It's purty. heart At some points, Chun Hyang's hair looks like it's colored with charcoal. And I like the bold colors they use for the costumes. When I turn the page I like to go really fast, so it's like BAM, BAM, BAM!!! Does anybody get what I'm saying, or am I just nerding out? sweatdrop Anyway, the art for Chun Hyang is probably my favorite. *thinks* hmmm....
