There was never anything living in the graveyard. Hence, its name. Rats perhaps, and insects, but nothing big enough to feed an adult lion. So once again, Safiya was prowling the edges of the graveyard where gray dust gave way to soil and grass, not daring to poach too much into the Pridelands. She had never experienced the wrath of a Pridelander, so she didn't know what might happen, but she wasn't willing to tempt fate.

But still there are slim pickings. Nothing living seemed to want to come near the graveyard at all. Safiya was really begining to hate how difficult it was to live here. Her blue eyes searched the horizon for movements of any kind. There was none, save for waving of the grasses in the wind.

On his way passing through was a tan colored cheetah. His long limbs helped him move swiftly across the lands until he came to a stop noticing the lioness moving about. Slowly he crept up to her and said cheerfully.

"Why hello there miss!" The cheetah still walking behind her, but slightly off to the side smiled while waiting for a reply, or reaction from the other. The smile never faded from the male's face as his tail flicked back and forth behind him.

A smiling face in this dismal, dark place of death? Safiya thought maybe she had gotten hit in the head again. Was she dreaming? As the figure moved closer, she thought she had to be. This wasn't a lion - it was something she didn't think she'd ever seen before. It was feline, but beyond that, she wasn't sure.

"Hi yourself," she replied, glad for any kind of friendly contact. "What in the world are you?" She wasn't being rude, just - blunt.

"Isn't it obvious what I am miss? I'm a cheetah." Kika replied to the lioness his cheerful smile never fading. His tail continued to move as he basically shadowed her, keeping his distance while still being close.

Safiya had never seen a cheetah. Heard about them, to be sure, but never thought she would see one. So many spots! They made her dizzy, almost. He was so lucky to have so many spots - they were pretty. Her coat was white and boring.

So she told him. "I like your spots."

It was funny. Even though she had longed for someone to talk to for so long, when she finally found a friendly face, she could not think of anything to say. She just stood, smiling at him, not knowing how to start a conversation after being so long alone amid the graveyard bones.

"I like your white fur Miss, its such a pretty white." Kika told her with somewhat of a charming smile upon his maw. "Oh, I'm sorry, please let me introduce myself." He took a breath before saying "My name is Kikahawia'Kikavu, but please call me Kika since my name is so dreadfully long." Another pause in his words. "It is such a great pleasure to meet you Miss."

Another smile graced his features as he waited for her response

Safi smiled at the compliment. She was secretly proud of her white coat, and tried to keep it as pristine as possible. "Thank you."

Her blue eyes grew large. He did had a long name! Hers seemed to pale in comparison. "I'm Safiya. You can call me Safi if you'd like. Pleased to meet you!" And she was. Here, finally was somebody nice to talk to!

"Where do you come from? I come from there - " she looked back towards the graveyard "but I don't really..know anyone there...it's just the only home I've ever known." If one could call it a home...being void of any family or friends. "Mosta the lions there are mean or just crazy. But dun worry, I'm not like them!" She grinned. Her excitement made her talk fast and slip, a little, into her old childish slang.

"I lived in the jungle for the longest time, but now I don't really live anywhere, it's more like the whole world is home to me, since I travel so much." Kika replied to her with a smile before adding "It is such a pleasure to meet you too Miss Safiya." His long tail flicked behind him as he looked at the white lioness infront of him.

"Well I hope you can consider me a friend Miss Safiya." The tanish cheetah told the other sincerly, he did enjoy making friends and hoped that she would be one as well.

((Sorry it took so long, I couldnt figure out what to write o.o))

Safiya listened with interest. She had come to the graveyard as an orphaned child and never left; here was someone who had seen much more of the world than she. "What does the jungle look like? Is it nice?" Her strong imagination gave her images of a wild place, full of weird lifeforms like this cheetah, maybe other species she had never seen before! Safi wished she could see the world, too. And then a spark lit in her heart - she wanted to travel. That idea that the whole world was his home? What a novel thing. Safiya loved it.

"Good! I love to make new friends," she beamed. "Do you like it here? Where else have you been?"

"The jungle is colorful, there are many things there, many varities." Kika replied to the white lioness not bothering to mention that he had not been to the jungle in some time due to some painful memories. His eyes would have given him away but he did not let the other see the saddness that littered them.

"I also enjoy making new friends." The cheetah replied nodding "It is a nice change as for where I have been....." He had to pause thinking about it. There had been so many places that he had been to and at the same time......so many he hadn't. "I have been around the southlands, where I met a young wild dog, I have been in the lands of the Duma'bara Coalition, where I came upon a spotless cheetah, I have traveled in the desert and have been to the jungle. " Another pause as he wondered if he missed anything. "I believe that is all, I do hope to go to many places since there is so much to see. After here I do plan to go to the ocean."

Listening to the cheetah speak, Safiya realized just how little she knew of the world. This graveyard and its surrounding environs had been her only home since as far back as she could remember. The places he mentioned, she had never even heard of. And that made her unhappy. She was missing out on so many experiences, so many places, so much life!

She had never seen a desert or a jungle. And..."What is...the ocean?" Her lack of knowledge made Safiya feel insignifigant and childish, something she didn't like at all. But her curiosity was at its peak, and she was already devising plans to get out in the world and do some travelling.

"The ocean is like a lake but much bigger and salty, not good for drinking, it also has lots of fishes of all different shapes, sizes, colors and well.... a large varitey." Kika told the lioness not at all disappointed that she didn't know much of the world, that was one of the reason he traveled, so he could tell others what they wanted to know. "I believe that you would enjoy the ocean."

A smile crossed his feature, it did a lot, as he watched her.

Safiya's imagination tried to picture the place he was describing. And strong though her imagination was, its was difficult to picture. So she decided right then and there that she would travel, and see all these new things with her own two eyes.

"I believe I would too." With so many beautiful and interesting places to see, she didn't want to spend one more minute in this icky graveyard! "Thank you so very much, Kika. You've really opened my eyes! I think I'm going to do some travelling, just like you. I'm going to get started right away - I won't waste another day in this dusty ol' boneyard." She gave a disgusted look back to the place she called home, then looked back at the cheetah with a brighter face. "Maybe we will cross paths again someday?" Safi wasn't just saying that - she really meant it.

"I am glad to see that you are excited to travel." Kika told the lioness smiling. It was nice to see that he could inspire others to go looking for the beauty of the world.

"It would be an honor to come upon you again Miss Safiya." Kika told her truthfully. He wouldn't be able to come to the graveyard to see her but he just knew that they would see each other again.

Safiya hadn't ever been taught a proper way to say goodbye to someone you had just met. But her new acquantaince seemd so proper and polite, she wanted to do something. It had been a long time since she had even had a civil conversation with anyone in the shrinking graveyard pride.

So she bowed her head low, trying to look as serenly ladylike as possible. "The honor would be mine," she said, having heard something like that somewhere before. Having said all she knew to say, she gave the cheetah a passing smile and turned to wander off in a new direction.
