Glancing through the clearing, Tifa Lockheart weaved past it and weaved back through the trees. She was becoming more and more familiar with this place, but everytime she saw something new, she'd forget something else. The mare sighed to herself as she walked back towards her teepee. All had been quiet for a long time. She hadn't really socialized with anybody except her teepee mates. So... She felt a little behind with everything. Several of her friends had grown up and had their own mates, but she couldn't complain...

It had been a while since the Skinwalkers had last attacked and things seemed to have quietened down considerably. Foals sprang up from absolutely nothing and the seasons changed in accordance to the whims of the spirits. All in all, the excitement and the danger that had resulted in him leading the mare away from that location had long since gone and he had once again reverted to his normal life.

...Silence, solitude.

Such things were something he had grown used to and he found it reasonably disconcerting when another insisted on his presence. For example, he was used to Yei but having her around him constantly would irritate him which was one of the reasons he had left her home...but even so, he couldn't help but crave for that familiar scent of the mare he had not seen in so long.

He couldn't understand why, but her very presence was so familiar to him that he felt as though he really could show his vulnerabilities, it was hard to describe.

Nevertheless, as he continued to weave in and out of the trees he couldn't afford to lose his concentration or sense of surroundings. If he allowed his guard down then by the gods, it would be impossible to tell who or what could attack him, even as the cold north winds ruffled his mane and allowed a scent to reach his nostrils.

Her scent.

"Tifa...?"

Tifa's mind was on other things; she had stopped worrying about herself really and tried to help others. Apparently, Chitsa and Roka were going to attempt at having foals again, it would be so nice to have little foals running around again. But she paused slightly, did she hear something? Or perhaps... smell something? It was so familiar, yet it seemed so far away from her.

When she heard the familiar, soothing voice, Tifa's heart almost skipped a beat. Moving closer to voice, she softly said, "Cloud?" She almost gasped as she said it. Was it just her imagination playing tricks on her? Or did some familiar voice really say her name?

...Cloud?

Had it not been for the echos emanating from the hollow tree trunks he doubted he would have heard her but his ears immediately pricked as soon as the words touched their tips. He knew his senses were good but he hadn't known they were that good!

Releasing a whicker that he couldn't possibly contain he started forward towards the voice with a little more urgency. Admittedly he was part way apprehensive as to how she might take his absence but another was determined to at least see her to make sure she was still standing.

Fortunately for him, she wasn't as far away as he had anticipated and within moments he could see the pale, flesh-like coloured coat ahead of him - and that red ribbon!

"Well, well...A face I have not seen in such a long time." He murmured, pausing as he attempted to figure out what else to say. He had never been a skilled socialite.

"You are well?"

Blinking, Tifa couldn't believe that he was actually there, standing before her. She didn't know what to say, she was almost tongue-tied. She had missed him so much, but she still wasn't sure if he was just an illusion or something until he spoke. "It's been... too long."

Tifa gazed at him with compassionate eyes; she almost wanted to run up to him and snug him to make sure that he was real, but that wasn't her personality. "Yes, I am well. How about yourself?" Tilting her head, she hoped that he was doing well too.

"I am, better now than I was before..." He was going to take Yei's advice on this one. All her lectures about how to present himself to the opposite sex were becoming increasingly annoying, especially when she herself was still available but he suspected that mild compliments may definately be appreciated by this mare and he was hardly going to say it to another.

"I was beginning to thought you had been harmed in the incidents not long ago." He confessed begrudgingly, offering a weak smile while his eyes seemed to glow with a hidden vulnerability. In truth, he was a coward and if he had possessed some form true courage he might have explained himself more fully.

"It is good to see that you were not though, very good."

Tifa nodded softly, "That's good." She was still rather shocked about seeing him, it was just a nice surprise and would definitely make her day. "Oh? I was with you most of the time during that scare was I not? So, you shouldn't worry so much." She couldn't help but grin happily at him.

After getting closer to him, she stopped a few feet away from him unsure of if she should get any closer or not. Being so used to hiding her emotions, Tifa wasn't sure if she should go embrace him or just stay where she was. And she didn't want to anger him or anything...

Ah, well he hadn't forgotten about the fact that he had dragged her away from the scene but that still didn't mean she wasn't at risk from the creatures that still roamed the forests and were more than determined to cause havoc wherever they went. In fact, the very idea of it made his blood run cold and to think he had even let her out of his sight!

...Then again he did need his alone time.

He gave a slight snort of annoyance, the two sides of his mind battling for supremacy as he continued to gaze at the mare. The proud part of him refused to admit that she was right but the more vulnerable...well it had reverted to an almost foal-like stance where all he wanted was a big hug.

"Who is to say the scare is over?" Cloud enquired in a more haughty tone than he should have, flattening his ears against his head briefly before he caught himself on and winced, "...What I meant was that those creatures are still here, I have every right to worry." He mumbled in an attempt to correct his previous comments.

"But then again, I should be aware that you are probably more than capable of handling yourself?"

Ah yes, he was a fabulous socialite...

Pausing slightly, Tifa tried to stay optimistic most of the time, so she hadn't even thought of the continual dangers. But she knew that if that time came, she could take care of herself. She couldn't help but chuckle to herself, Cloud worried too much... "I know you are allowed to worry. And yes I can take care of myself, that means I can worry about you, right?"

The mare tilted her head and had a somewhat childish grin on her face. If anything ever happened to him, she wasn't sure what she'd do... But again, Tifa was an optimistic soquili so she tried not to let thoughts like that invade her mind.

"I..." Cloud was forced to pause again and to consider the mare's words. Admittedly he had heard Yei say them before but this tim it was different and it had a different affect on him entirely. It send a shiver down his spine and he felt surprisingly vulnerable the moment she said it and the phrase had sank in.

She would worry about him? But...why?

"You have no need to worry about me, Tifa." He cleared his throat and shook his head, azure eyes now fixed on the mare who was beginning to make him feel like he wasn't as alone as he had anticipated. Or rather, this time it was different in the sense that he didn't want to be alone.

"So I don't see why I should allow it." He added, although not even he was sure as to whether or not he was teasing!
