Ok, so I'm almost at 32k. It just keeps getting harder! The further I get, the more difficult it gets!
I am SO sick of this novel! gonk It's so hard to stay focused! I wanna give up, but I don't wanna give up! scream

It's so hard to keep going... but, I'm forcing myself!
If I quit now, I'm gonna really hate myself. And when (not IF, WHEN) I "win" NaNoWriMo 2006, it's gonna be a huge boost of confidence! biggrin
Especially since this is my first year participating. :3

Last night, I hit about 35.7 k. I plan to hit at LEAST 40k today, leaving me the rest of the month to put out the last 10.
*Whew*... so glad I got over that hump!

It does seem to be getting a bit harder because by now I've developed an actual PLOT that I have to deal with!
But I put in a marathon session last night and got to 37k, so I think I'm on the right track. And I'm coming up on a scene that I've had planned from before I even started writing, so things seem to be falling into place. I think it helps to have a big scene to look forward to writing.

Those important scenes ARE great boosters. And congrats on your word count! It's all downhill from here!
I just hit 40k, and it keeps getting easier. biggrin

I was going strong until I hit the half way point. Then I just slowed down, and it's been such a struggle to write anything at all. Yesterday, after sitting at the screen for half an hour thinking "what the hell do I want to happen next?" I finally pulled out paper and pen and began writing out the things I still had left that needed to happen. Then, as I wrote those down, the rest of the story just sort of fell out.
Problem is, now I can't seem to write it out. It's not working nicely, and it's starting to tick me off that I can't get myself to write for even ten straight minutes.
So close, yet so very far... crying

I would like to say that it is, but I'm at 30k now and I'm actually gaining strength now. sweatdrop But I guess I could say that it's because this really isn't closing in on my novel but closer to the middle of it, really. When it comes to ending the piece, though, it's always difficult trying to find the right place to end it. But for the final words of the 50k, this isn't going to be too difficult for me this year since it won't be the end of it really.

Ah, see, I'm trying to make it the end of my novel. I'd very much like to say I wrote an entire book in a month. Not to mention it would be the first book I've ever written all the way through. Though I'm still working on my two main projects to get them to their end (just not this month).
Here's to hoping another 16000 words is close to enough to finish this book. Though I don't mind going over at all.

I've decided that the reason writing was getting harder was that I was getting a bit bored with my main character. It's understandable, because I only have one, and this IS the longest I've ever sticked with a story.
So, I just wrote the prologue where the king gets murdered, and a really random-a** scene where he's in the underworld playing cards with a few gods and complaining about how much his afterlife karma punishment sucks.
It helped, I'm much more excited about finishing now!

It is getting harder as the pit I managed to dig for myself with plot holes I didn't notice and lack of planning gets bigger... I'm not really bored, but just stuck with where I am going
I'm a little shy of 35k right now...
I'm sort of freaking out to get a big bulk of writing done before thanksgiving break is over because I can't write as much with school. I did 10k in four days (ever bundle of 10k I do takes fewer and fewer days too...)
