[fireheart_torkoal] Sugar Coated Strawberry Well, I don't know any couple tutorials, but there is a How to Draw Manga couples book which is pretty good =3
If you'd like, I could give you some written pointers I've learned from my drama class, I might be able to draw a thing or two, but I'm a little busy for that as of late. heart that would be fantastic! I'd love to have some pointers. I can draw people no problem, but when it comes to drawing people together in the same scene, well... sweatdrop No problem ^_^
A Few Basic Pointers 1. In male/female relationshps, te male is usually taller than the female, and should the female should be at least one head shorter than the male. In same-sex couples, there should usually be a similar height difference. The shorter of the two should play the female role in your drawing. However, take into account their personality. If they have a masculine personality, try t avoid overly-feminine roles and too much of a height difference.
2. When people become closer together, their upper bodies will slightly tilt towards each other. They made be slightly tilted towards each other even if they are not touching. While people are together or holding each other in a loving way, you'll find their heads in particular come closer together; this can range from the head only tilted to actually laying against each other, depending on the mood. When looking toward each other, the heads are usually tilted in that direction too.
3. When couples are portrayed in close-together still scenes, they will often tangle their legs in some way. Lying down, they might entwine their legs and hold each other close, but standing, the female (or shorter male) will often stand so one or both feet are placed between where the male (or taller female) is stood, as the legs can not be entwined, as they'd fall over XD... When couples stand still, they are usually holding each other. The male or masculine role should hold either a shoulder, hip or waist of the female rolled character.
4. When couples walk together, it is usual for them to be holding hands, at the waist, shoulder or hip. The closer you make them stand, their heads should draw together more obviously. When walking apart, it is better to have their heads un-tilted, but maybe walking looking at each other or something. This can sometimes make the difference between a friendship picture and I loving picture. A cute pose to show couples holding hand sin a loving way, is by having them walk apart, but by having them hold each other’s little or "pinkie" finger.
5. Newer couples are shyer with each other than ones who are used to each other. Newer parties move more tensely. Both parties often hunch their shoulders or blush a lot, with a very small smile. A larger grin usually means the character is either love struck by the other, or thinking about something pervy. A stiff walk with more straightened legs, or hands shoved in pockets are common traits of newer couples. Another common pose, especially in manga/anime is having characters rub the backs of theirs heads in nervousness. Couples who are comfortable with each other often relax their shoulders and move more freely. Hand, neck and arm movements often have better 'flow'. Their actions or often more exaggerated, often in attempts to impress the other, or have the other think they are doing something cute.
6. Touching the face. Couples often show their affection by touching or hugging each other. One of these ways is by touching the cheek. A male (role) touching a female's (role) cheek usually shows the male is romantic. A female (role) touching the male's (role) cheek usually shows the female is being cute. A romantic character will usually narrow their eyes lightly, and smile as they touch their partner. A cuter character will have normal or widened eyes as they touch the other. Often, when someone touched the face of another, the one being touched often holds the person's wrist or arm as a sign of affection, on lays their hand of theirs. When touching the head, it is less usual for the one being touched to use their own hands. But the one having their head touched, usually at the back, they will usually smile back, or blush. Remember, when the heads come close, their bodies will too.
7. Attitude. It is very important to show the correct attitude between couples in your piece. Relaxed facial features and smiling suggest a couple that is getting along and very much in love. They should be close together and interacting constantly. However, coupes standing apart, not interacting or ignoring each other, often suggest they aren't getting along or have had an argument. Couples standing together, with angry or sad faces, or characters completely apart but ignoring each other and smiling send mixed messages. Interaction = Happy Couples No Interaction = Unhappy Couples. I is also important to keep personalities in mind. Moodier female characters, or flirtation ones usually have a tilted hip, where shy, straight-laced, childish or oblivious ones usually stand straight. Playful male characters may sometimes stand with a tilted hip, especially with a partner, but it is less common. ALWAYS keep facial expression in mind. If one character looks awkward, it turns into a scene where it looks like harassment. Small smiles and narrowed or drooped eyes usually show relaxing scenes, as do relaxed shoulders.
8. Sitting down. Whilst sitting down, couples who are comfortable with each other move much closer. Their legs and/or thighs usually touch, and they are usually touching with their hands, or hugging each other. In a lot of cases, the female or feminine character will sit on the lap of the masculine character. When this is true, their heads should be about level, and they normally lay their heads together, or the one sitting on the other's lap with hold their arms around the other's neck. The one being sat on will usually support their partner by holding them at the hips, waist, or lower back.
9. Hair. I'm not going to tell you what styles the pair should have, that's just silly XD. But when one character touches or plays with the other's hair, it usually shows the couple is close, or that they are comfortable with each other. Often, it is the male character who plays with the female's hair. Romantic cute poses include kissing it, stroking it or running fingers through it. This can be done where ever the male is standing. It helps if the female has long hair. Only the character's facial expressions will define a romantic or a cute scene. When female characters play with the male's hair, it very easy to define what kind of scene you want. If the female is standing behind the male, she is usually petting it or plaiting it, so it becomes a cute scene. But if the female is stood in front of the male, she is usually only stoking it, making it romantic. With same-sex couples, hair playing is most common with two long-haired females, male-male couples may some times stroke each other’s hair, but they rarely treat it as a man might treat a long haired woman's.
10. A lot of couples share hobbies, food or activities. If you have trouble getting them to interact, a great place to start would be by drawing them sharing an ice cream or halves of a hot dog or some other fun food. Of course, you could have them build something together, or trying to take care of a pet together and having different reactions over it. Get creative ^^ They don’t necessarily have to be touching or interacting too much ^^
If I think of anything else, or if there is anything specific you would like me to explain, let me know.

That was an amazing couple tutorial! ^.^ Most of my manga characters have a boyfriend or girlfriend but since I haven't really mastered drawing people apart yet I've never looked for a couple tutorial. But I'll be sure to come back when I start drawing couples! -^^- The stuff you said about masculine/feminine roles was especially useful.
