Umo walked silently tonight. He was deep in thought, thoughts of leaving the Kusini Mwenzi... to be with his true love in the swamps. He had been loyal too the Kusini as much as he could... but now... Since Kika was going to have anouther batch of cubs... he wanted to be more with her... and be apart of the pride. To be apart of her. He blinked his crimson eyes, obviously deep in his thoughts. His tail swung low and his mind swam. He was tired... and worried... What would Asi say? Would the swamp pride let him stay? Would they take him in? He sighed, his deep booming voice echoing in the night. He was in no mood to hunt and though he hated leaving her side, Kika was back at the swamps. He walked when he wanted to think.
So he walked, long and tiredly. He did his best to keep track of where he was going. Even the small companion on his back had tuckered out long ago, asleep in his mane as usual. He shook his mane, walking over the terrain with a solumn look. He didn't know what to do or how to do it but he must make a desicsion. Especailly since their first child was getting the point where he'd 'have to let her go'. He shook his head nervously. What to do?

Blood. It was a part of his trade mark to leave a trail of blood when he was in one of 'those' moods. His dark mane was splatterd with small droplets where he had purposefully periced the jugular vein of the creature he was now skinning. He didn't care what the creature was, it simply was. It was laying dead now a small ragged bundle for him to own. Of course, the blood in his mane was nearlly invisable, the recent murder was most obvious upon that pale white face and streaking within his salmon line.
He smirked. Most lions only hunted for food, but out here, outside of his oasis this was for sport and for trophies. He wanted this creature to join his fur carpet.
The salmon tinted lords head lifted slightly as he heard the creature approach. breatjing in gently he realised it was another lion, a male lion. His golden eyes flashed angrilly. He hated being interrupted this was an important procedure after all. Tucking the half mutilated body of the tiny beast behind a long tussok of grass he stood slowly bunching his shoulders forwards to show those thick strong youthful mucles. Unlike the soft squishy, though large Umo, nyekundu was touch and heavily built with mucles. he didn't much care for an interruption, he didn't much care for it at all.

Umo scented the blood of a kill not far away. He wrinkled his nose, not being hungry for the past few days. Even though he was a bit large and pudgy, it was genetic and obviously not an aquired thing. He was eating frogs most of the time and how much fat can they have? He shook his head, lifting up his large dark head and spotting the slamon colored male. There was a moment silence as he looked at the male with a calm expression. His own crimson eyes blinked, looking at the blood upon the stangers face. He looked about and did not see the strangers kill, but dared not want to act interested. He stopped walking, lifted a paw and smiled the best he could while his mind swam with worry.
"Sorry... I did not mean to interupt something." He said, his voice flat. He looked around for a moment, taking in the scenery. He wondered where he was? He had been traveling for days now... and was a bit careless... "Where do I happen to be?" He asked plainly, looking back to hte male. The sight of blood did not seem to effect him... even he, the big friendly Umo got bloody sometimes. He wouldn't ask any more questions. He just wanted some quick awnsers... cause he didn't want to intrude on this males privacy. What ever he may be doing. At least Ripuka was asleep in his mane... he didn't need mister chatter box babbling.

The salmon tinted lord growled gently his golden eyes glancing over the body of this stranger. He was fat and rolly, he doubted this one could even remotely cause him any harm. Snorting he lay back down and fetched the small carcass once again his ears flattening against his head as he continued the process of skinning the beast he had caught. "Perhaps you shouldnt just wander about with your eyes closed then." He whisperd, his voice deep, throaty, full of an arrogant growl.
"You are in no lions lands though if you wish to get technical, mine when I am here" his honey glazed eyes leapt upwards and fixed upon the creature before him. clearly he had been stumbled upon by some mindless cheery fool whom beleived all was right with the world. Pathetic, worth ignoreing. He continued then with his skinning once again, the mess between his claws becoming bloodier by the moment.

Umo stood watching this strangers reaction and he could already guess that this was not someone whom was... capable of being a friend.... or even an aquatance. He wasn't sure if he even wanted to learn this lions name. His crimson eyes glanced too the stranger as he pulled a mutilated peice of something out of hiding. He watched, stunned and appauled... what was this lion doing? He blinked his eyes quickly, taking a step backwards. Did he walk upon some sick ritual? " I suppose... but I suppose it is better than... taking it out on someone or something else." He said, eyeing the ragged pice of nothing the lion was mutilating. Umo was getting the point and was not a stupid lion. He began to back up a bit... to go around this stranger. The last thing Umo wanted was a confrontation... with Kika being in such a state that his injury or death... could kill her.
Umo knew he wasn't intimidating... being that he was a large lion... but there was a strength inside him that he knew was stronger than anything. The strength of a father. Though he was going to avoid having to use his 'strength'... he knew it was there. "I see... Well, I suppose that is my que to leave then? I would not want to intrude on... what ever it is you are doing..." He said, turning away and starting to go around.
Ripuka heard someone speaking with Umo and popped his sleepy head out of Umo's dark mane, his fur sticking in random directions. He yawned, spotting the strange salmon lion and stared for a moment. What was it doing? Ewwwww, what was at his feet? It wasn't a genet was it (o.0) He looked too Umo questioningly, looking to the stranger and then back again. "Was' dat' fella' doin?" He asked Umo quietly, crawling up over Umo's back and onto his head, still partailly hidden in his mane.
Umo shook his head to silene Ripuka. This was not hte time to ask questions.

Nyekundu's head lifted swiftly at the sound of a second voice. "You have a rat in your mane" He states quietly his shoulders tencing slightly as he watched the little creature with slitted golden eyes. He licked his lips playing with the mangled beast between his paws. His ears flattened slowly in to his black mane and he watched that maroon lioned male turn away. "Wait..where have you come from?" his lips turned in a snarl. There were many lions in this world whom had a grudge against him and should this one happen to wander in to one of those prides, or even hither from one, his wheer abouts would eb noted.
Out side of the oasis, the salmon tinted lord had many little hide outs where he usually rested before continuing on to his home, his pride lands. However having oe of his 'hiding places' shouted out to one of his enemies would not amuse him in the least.
He stood once again the dark maned tyrant and slowly stalked towards umo those heavy set mucles tenced as he stalked towards the darker lion as if the poor ruby eyed gentle giant was a prey beast.

Umo moved with his back too the stanger but his ears were keen in hearing the salmon stranger. He listened to him say something about a squirrel and he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. It was odd, this fellow... was he going to eat that creature. Umo, being that he had a long bout of not having the speed to hunt his prey, prefered to not waste food. Where did he come from? That was an odd question. He turned to see the other approaching him and Umo wasn't so sure if he liked the way that fellow was... he blinked. "My lands..." He said sort of half heartedly. He wasn't sure what his lands were anymore. His face softened sadly... for one he didn't want to awnser this fellow and for anouther he wasn't sure anyway. He shook his head. "My pride is... not-" He sighed. "-My pride is currently being discussed between I and my Mate since I belong to none technically... Why do you ask?"
He narrowed his eyes and turned his back away from the stranger. What was this? He did not like how this fellow was acting... and calling Ripuka a squirell... did he know nothing of the creatures around him? He looked the salmon lord square in the eye and blinked. "I am also going no where... I am walking... not too or from anywhere." He added. What was this lion up too. He tensed his muscles nervously. "I however do not want any trouble... stranger."
Ripuka narrowed his eyes and blinked. What did that pink guy say about him? A squirel? His eyes twisted angerly. A WHAT? "Ripuka is not a squirlley' worly." He said with small growl. He did however cower into Umo's mane. OOoh, this wasn't good.

Nyekundu's ears flattened, a wanderer with a mate? How charming. He curled his lips in a snarl as he let the thought roll through his mind. The life of a loving mate. Gods the thought not only bored him it sickened him. His tail lashed only once, his eyes still fixed on the creature nestled in the rouge maned lions hair. He smirked his lips lifting, showing those pearly fangs. "I said rat, it looks like a rat, it will look good in my collection, such, pretty colours." He growled quietly continueing forwards, perhaps in this moment of madness the salmon tinted lord had forgotten the 'rat' was peched upon a rather large, though stupid in his mind, lion. Still, here was somehting he wanted, he would even rather foolishly fight for the small peice of fur to lay upon his floor, another trophie.

Umo glared at this stranger, his dislike of him growing more and more with each slippery word that fell from his tongue. Umo stepped back again, his ears flattening against his skull. This male was seriously making Umo want to evacuate immediatly. A snarl passed his lips. How dare this total stranger threaten Ripuka in any way. His fur rose, his body tensing as he snarled again. "Collection? What the hell are you talking about. He happens to not be a rat and he happens to be a good friend of mine... so unless you enjoy being gelded with my teeth, you will step down... kindly!" He said, stepping back. One thing he did not want to do was to fight with the lord... the salmon male was stronger than he and younger... though stupider in his ways. Stiffining his gaut, he walked backwards. Why was his temper getting too him?
He narrowed his eyes, he lifted his chin. This male was not of the respectable type... but that comment he made about prides. Was this a king? He curled his nose. "What pride may you be from, may I ask?" He said, keeping his distance from the salmon stranger at any cost. His back was away from him. Ripuka was in his mane. How was he going to get out of this mess?
Ripuka curled his body into Umo's mane, his tiny paws gripping it. Pretty Colours? OOoh, not his fur. He liked his fur. He whimpered pitifully. If he tried to run away, that pink lion would get him and do horrid things to him... just like that bloody pulp of a lump he was tearing apart. He whimpered. "Oooh's Umo's Dun' let'dat big pink-ouff get me?" He said worried like.
Umo shook his head. This was a connection with his daughter and mate that he would not loose. Not now. "Don't worry Ripuka. I do not count on it." He said quietly.

Nyekundu's eyes finally fell upon the large fluffy male, those golden orbs flashed angrilly. How dare this beast challange him. A growl echoed deep in his throat as he continued to stalk towards Umo, his head low, he was up for a fight, he would gladdly mark this creature and teach it a leson. "You step foot on lands that are mine and challange me?" The lands were not his of course, this was simply one of his hideing places, but that made it his.
His lips curled in a snarl, those thickly mucled shoulders tenced, he trained to fight, he trained to kill, he trained to maime and this beast was close to getting his wrath. Stupid beast, how dare it defy him. His golden eyes narrowed to slits as he contemplated the atatck, the pounce, would the lion run or stay and fight? This one seemed to be a coward, he could smell it's fear, or what he perceved as fear. "My name is Nyekundu I am the lord of the oasis, Peon, I consider myself a beast with alot of paitence, but your tongue proceeds your brain it seems. Run or fight red eyed stranger, my temper boils with your stupidity."

Umo could see who would win this match. He could guess that Nyek was strongr, younger nad more fit for knawing necks than he was. Umo stepped back, lowering his ears but looking stern. He was going to do this for Kikawaida. He had too think of what lay at stake. This king could kill both Umo and Ripuka, leaving much behind. This was not a time for being rash, and so without further thought he stepped away quickly, and broke into a run. "My sir Nyekundu, I am not half minded. I know who will win and I have more important things on my mind than winning fights." He said over his shoulder. "I have a mate at home who will miss me dearly and children that are going to arrive in time... so I say to you, owner of this land... pleasure to have met you!"
Umo then broke into a run, as fast and as stealthy as he could be. The thought of Kikawaida waitng for him made his run much faster than he expected, so much so that Ripuka had to grab hold of his mane in order to not fly off. He looked over his shoulder, to see if he was going to be pursued or not. Umo was not stupid and he was not a coward. He was a father.

Nyekundu only took a single pounce and a few long strides before Umo cut and run. A smik lifted his lips, those golden eyes shining. The fool had a brain after all. Still, they would have made fine additions to his horde. He had killed few lions and none with as much fur as that one. He would happily have lain on that beast as a throwrug. Shrugging his shoulders, he gave a roar after the fleeing chubby shape and it's little familiar.
He questioned the sanity of the female that was this ones mate. Such cowardice. The salmon sinted lord sat slowly, watching for a long time until Umo was out of his sight before he turned, he had a job to finish amongst the rocks.
