And ADV is the company that got it.

I'll say here what I've said everywhere else: It's not that bad, and it could be worse. I'd say more, but I'd rather see everyone else's opinion on this as well before I spit mine out.

Just thought I'd let you all know. heart

Heh, to be honest I'm all for ADV licensing Keroro; they won me over with Excel Saga, and I hope that they give Keroro the same treatment (though I hope it doesn't take them forever to bring out the first volume XD).

I really do wonder/look forward to hearing the dub; ADV's got a series of hits and misses (well, mostly misses for me XD) when it comes to dubs... so I hope it's something decent. o.oV

Where have you been? That show/manga has always had swearing. Not excessive, but still it's there. o_o

I'm guessing he may have been referring to the excessive swearing that may appear in the dub track? I know I've auto-switched back to the Japanese track when I heard something out of the ordinary (an unecessary "s**t" from Hakkai in Saiyuki, for one XD). I don't recall ADV ever resorting to pointless profanity in the subtitles. o_O;

Could you possibly elaborate on the "no swearing in Japanese" part?

From what I understand, most of the curse words people use are childish (so they're not really taken seriously), or the words can be interpreted in many other ways; and, there is a word (or more? I forgot) that is actually blocked off of being spoken in media in Japan.

I've asked Japanese people I know and all of them have said that there is no swearing.

They don't consider, kuso or yarou to be swearing. Sure they may be rude, but they're just not swearing. As for shimatta, that's equivalent of saying "oh shoot". If anything, it's the fansubbers that love to add more flavourful language to the actual translation.

Baka isn't a swear word either.

Well, in ADV's defense, swearing can be hilarious in the right situations. I'm not saying excessive swearing is funny, but used just right it can add spice to life.

Also, I'm not saying you have no right to be upset, because you certainly do have a right, but aren't you being a bit narrowminded about this? Jumping the gun about it isn't gonna make it any better, and complaining won't make it go away either.

No, you don't. The DVDs come with subtitles. You never have to listen to the dub if you don't want to. Just switch the settings.
