((I forgot to ask you if you wanted this pre Muffy death, or post Muffy death. >.< *keeps it vague until I know*))

-The golden lioness stood among the grasses staring outwards. For the first time in ages her mind was lost in the serenity of her imagination. And like the days of her cubhood she silently pretended to be something that she was not.

In her mind she was just like everyone else, no royal blood or responsibility. Simply a lioness. Spending her days watching over the pride's young. Letting her play with that imagination.

Sighing a little softly, a sound of contentment with her daydream, she padded forward, making her way through the grasses in a soft daze.-

Like her cousin, Jahzara was lost in the confines of her mind, but for very different reasons. Slowly but surely, the golden lioness was recovering from her illness, a fever illness that'd spanned quite a while. From the end of her days as a juvenile till recently, she'd been wandering around in a stupor not quite sure what to believe was real and what wasn't. It was like she was awakening for the first time in a long, long while, surprised to see herself grown as an adult now, and not the child she remembered herself to be.

Her eyes viewed the world around her, the lands she'd been born in, but with a new lease on life. She'd missed so much, so so much... It was in this state that she neared Kami, without entirely realizing another was nearby.

((Sorry for the delay dear <3 All this rl crap has just really kicked me out of the mood to rp at all. Didn't mean to leave you waiting this long.

Man they could be twins from the back. @_@ ))

-The daydream was a welcome reprieve from the pain and thoughts that'd filtered upon the new queen as of late. And she almost bypassed the nearly mirroring figure as she slid through the grasses, stopping only to wonder when the golden pelt and auburn tail tuft struck her mind.

Could it be Zuri? Her daugther? She hadn't really caught a good look, only a tiny glimpse of the family colors through the grasses. And softly her dreams dissapated as the pelt did not.

If it was Zuri.. perhaps it was best she didn't near her.. But then...

Curiousity got the better of Kami and slowly she slunk through the grasses, hoping to sneak a better peek at the golden lioness.-

((No problem hun. I completely understand. I'm not worried about it <3

Yeah they do look identical except for markings 'n eye color xd That's cool <3))

The largish lioness held her ears down while in thought, wondering how much of her life she'd truly missed. Walking around as if in a daze wasn't fit for a princess, as she saw herself, being of firekin royalty as well as tied to the prideland royalty through her mother, but what was one SUPPOSED to do when they realized half their life had come and gone? Jahzara looked to the sky for a moment, wrinkling her nose as the stillness around her. Flicking the tip of her auburn tail, she sighed, plunking her rump down in a rather unbecoming fashion. She was tired, kinda hungry and, though she hated to say it, rather lost. She'd been avoiding pride rock, keeping it in her sights, but keeping her distance as well. Pride rock meant her family was there, and what would they think of her, having been gone so long? She didn't even know if her family even still thought of her, for that matter. Another huge sigh eminated from her hunched shoulders and she lowered her head to stare at a rock between her paws. She certainly didn't feel like a princess or even a daughter at the moment, she felt like a stranger on the outside, looking through the window to a warm and happy life.

-When finally her eyes settled upon the lioness, they widened softly. This lioness was older, and didn't carry the yellow that Zuri did.. however the resemblance was uncanny. She looked even more like Kami then any of her siblings had, and for a moment Kami was silent in awe. Pondering over where this doppleganger could have come from.

Her normal shyness was pressed aside for curiousity, and as the other golden lioness sat, she drew nearer, until her head peeked from the grasses, and softly her voice called out. A sound more remincent of childish wonder then anything, at this unknown relative.- "Who.. who are you?"

(Forgive me a have a habit of doing this XD bear with me and my strange logic with lyrics XD)

I'm on the outside, I'm lookin' in...
I can see through you, see your true colors...
Cuz inside you're ugly. ugly like me
I can see through you, see to the real you...

It was like looking in a mirror. Stripped of her markings, this lioness was like seeing herself for the first time. The eye color differences never registered to Jahzara. Horrifed that she might be slipping back into sickness once more, Mwali's daughter stood slightly and backpedaled a bit away from Kami, her face etched with fear and horror. To Jahzara, it was like a bad dream. Herself come to haunt her for whatever reason, for abandoning her brothers and sisters and parents. Her thoughts becoming tangible and coming to remind her of her wrong-doings.

"I-i..." Her raspy voice, ragged from misuse, was unable to form the words she needed to reply. Although, if it had been able to do so, she wouldn'tve known what to say in the first place. What does one say to a vision of themselves, anyhow? Backing up another step or two, Jahzara didn't see the rock that tripped her up. Landing hard on her backside, her tail cushioning her slightly, the lioness stared up towards Kami in embarassed silence.

((Hey, if I can use cheesy one lines from songs. XD Then you're more then free to use good lyrics))

-Her ears twitched a little softly, expression changing to soft worry as the other lioness began to back, and suddenly that wave of common guilt was washing over the golden queen. What'd she done? To upset the lioness so?

Afterall, the lioness was the one to steal her colors!

But almost immediately her expression changed once more, a look of soft concern touching her as the other took her tumble, and she hazzarded another step forward.- "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to startle you.."

No, this couldn't be a vision of herself. If it was, it would have been berating her with all the troubles that plagued her. This lioness before her was too polite to be anything of herself.

Laying her ears back slightly in shame for her reaction, though an air of unsurity held fast in her eyes, Jahzara hung her head before the lioness. "I... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that. I..." Turning her head off to the side, Jaz all but mumbled. "... thought you were someone else."

Emerald eyes shifted to her paws, unable to bring to mind what a proper greeting might be. Just like her voice, her manners and common traits had withered away from ill-use.

(sorry so short >< wasn't sure what to do with her immediately XD)

"Someone else?" -There were others that looked like her too? I mean yes.. the golden pelt was something common in the Pridelands.. but usually others had more.. not her most common of boring pelts, minus any adornments. Even this lioness had something, that she could see now that she was nearer. And curiousity got the better of her, eating over her politeness and usual shyness.-

"My name is Kamilika. First daughter of Mufasa and Sarabi. And..." -She paused softly, thinking on the words before finally just blurting them, unable to think of a right way to say them.- "And you look an awful lot like I do."

The named sounded familiar in her mind, but she couldn't place where she'd heard them before. Jaz's still illness clogged mind refused to spit out the proper information just yet. Confusion was evident in her eyes, but she nodded politely, up until she'd realized Kami had said she looked a lot like her. Laying her ears back slightly and staring at the ground, Jahzara tried to form some sort of response to explain that, though she didn't quite know what to say, herself.

"My name is Jahzara, daughter of Koho and Mwali." It was the best she could offer up. If this was a pridelander, she would likely know of, if not actually know Jaz' parents herself. And if Kami didn't know the names, that was alright too. She thought it almost might be better if the other lioness didn't know them, so she wouldn't have to explain why she'd been gone for so long...

-The firekin male hadn't really been one to stick in the queen's mind other then vague recognition, but she most certainly remembered the mother, her eyes widening softly.- "Aunty Koho? I thought she'd left to firekin lands with her mate..."

-Kami trailed softly in thought. She'd never seen her aunt again.. since that time.. nor had the golden lioness been there for the sad news when her brother, the king fell. But she'd had children? And she'd come back? Or atleast the babies had?

She wondered how much younger this Jahzara was, but even now the fact of relation skated from her mind, and so chirped pleasantly dispite the other lioness' more somber actions.- "Well no wonder we look so alike then! Koho and my father looked rather alike themselves as well. It's a pleasure to meet you Jahzara."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:54 am

Auntie Koho? Then this one was related.... It was at the same moment Kami had stated that they looked alike, that it clicked with Jahzara that because they were related, that was why they it looked like Jaz was seeing a mirror image of herself. Still, she was unsure of how to act, suddenly knowing that this was family in front of her. "I... I- Pleasure to meet you too Kamilika. You know my mother?"

It came to her that it didn't seem that Kami knew of her mother's current whereabouts, with the comment about how she'd left to the firekin lands. Then that meant no one was around.... Well, at least Kami wouldn't be mad with her for leaving her family like she had. "I'm sorry, I probably seem attle-brained. I've not seen my family since.. I don't remember when. I've been wandering inside these lands, just at the borders for a while." Tilting her head slightly to look towards the ground, Jahzara's paw shook slightly as she tried to think for a moment. "I got really sick... and wandered away from them. I don't remember much other than seeming to waken from a cloudy stupor as an adult. I haven't seen anyone in a long time...." Looking towards priderock in the distance, the emerald eyed doppleganger of Kami tried to make sense of things enough to try and explain to her relation... "You're my cousin?" It was truly beginning to dawn on her who the lioness was, even if she didn't know the lioness' position within the pride.

-Nodding softly, a smile worked it's way to her maw, her mind dipping back to pleasant memories of the past, something she'd found hard to do in the past few days.- "Oh yes, she looked after us a bit. Back when I was little she was the only nanny there was, and she watched us when mother was resting..."

-Softly she listened, her features turning to soft concern however. Her mother's sickness had been something Kami had seen all her life, something she noticed only when others pointed it out. And now as this.. mysterious relation spoke of her own illness, she couldn't help but feel that soft pain inside of her.- "That must have been horrible... and scary."

"When things were worst for me.. and I thought that nothing would be right again I was visited by a goddess... Perhaps you had one watching over you as well. To help you find family once again."

-And despite as weird or rushed as it may have seemed to the poor lioness, it only felt natural for Kami to try and dout on the solitary family she had in the land. And lightly her gaze drifted to the rocks in the far distance.- "Would you maybe like to rest? Until you're feeling better and all. Wandering around while you're sick, or getting over it can't be very safe."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 10:14 am

Shaking her head slightly, Jahzara looked to Kami. "It might've been scary, but not too much so, I can't remember any of it. Just.... dreams. That's all I remember are dreams..." Wrinkling her nose, she thought on whether a goddess was watching over her or not. It was doubtful, no goddess or god in their right mind would've watched over someone as her, leaving her family when they, and she needed them most of all. But she left that thought alone. This was family, some form of it anyway, and not some stranger. At least that counted for something, right?

"I..." her eyes aimed towards priderock once more. "A rest would be nice." she confided, unwilling to truly turn down such a lovely offer. "If you think it's alright, that is..." Jaz' words were hesitant, as if she were unsure whether it would be allowed of her.

-Dreams... Kami wondered softly if her dreams had been the same tearing and scary dreams that her mate had had in the past. The dreams that'd holed him into that tiny cave as a mass of nothingness until she'd came to find him. Had this poor lioness... Jazhara.. had she too been in such a state of dismay? If only she knew how much like her family she truely was.. atleast from Kami's point of view.

But she tried to atleast keep a look of mild pleasantness on her face, and not let the worry in her mind tug at her golden features. Ears twitching gently with the soft words, Kami simply nodded, auburn tail tip flicking, just as her father's had used to, strong and decisive.- "Of course you're welcome. Everyone is welcome in the pridelands. But family.. family are even more so."

-Lifting herself lightly, she stalled, habit touching her as she waited to see if the other lioness needed assitance, so used to offering it with her mother in her later days.-
