Most people like Sango and Kikyo because of how tragic they are. At first, I like Kikyo because she was so pretty and Sango in her Taijiya uniform because it was a neat character design. To this day, I like Sango because of that and her relationship with Miroku and I'm loving Kikyo's personality more and more. ^_^

Nothing wrong with liking Sango.
Let me think... Sesshoumaru, Kikyou, Kagura, Sango
Okay, Sango is my fourth favourite Inuyasha character, with Kirara at 5th.
Sango and Miroku's relationship is the most interesting one in the series.

Sesshoumaru and Kikyou are tied for first, I believe.
Maybe because Kagome annoys me (it's her perky-ness, I swear it), but Kikyou is much more realistic. It seems like Kagome hasn't suffered at all in her life.
Sesshoumaru because he is so quiet and calm, but dealy at the same time.
And he's hot... xd

I have a nasty habit of screaming at Miroku every time a possible-romantic scene occurs between him and Sango and he ruins it by fondling her butt. sweatdrop
Jeez,like he told Botan and Momiji(was that her name?),maybe his hand really his possessed by a demon.
Of course,for some reason,in the episode after Miroku pulled in Naraku's poisonous insects and got sick,and Sango was watching over him,I burst out laughing when he started to fondle her butt. sweatdrop
I don't know why,I guess maybe because it was a bit of a dramatic scene,and it was interrupted like that. There was just something about that which tickled my funny bone.

most of the reasons why people like Sango better than Kagome is because of her toughness and her "realistic" past. To be honest, not everyone dies and people get depressed because of that. To me, it's really annoying how people tell me: "I LIKE SANGO BECAUSE SHE'S TOUGHER!" So, I don't mean to sound like a b***h, but tough isn't always better. In fact, I've read a book where they talk about overreaction. Most people are like Kagome, if you didn't notice... well Kagome before she fell through the bone eaters well. It's just annoying books such as "The Torn Skirt" and "The Princess Diaries" that make it seem as if people with normal lives seem boring as hell. And guess that it is, but my life is pretty much similar to kagome's life (again, I mean her life before she came to the feudal era).
Also, I've noticed that Sango may be a rough and tough and can take down a huge-a** demons and stuff like that, but in truth, in the first and the second movies, it was NOT Sango who took down the enemies, it was either Kagome and Inuyasha, or Miroku, Inuyasha and Kagome (in the case of Kaguya). You may all think that if Sango and Kikyou battled together then Sango would win, but remember this, Kikyou is stronger than Sango. She may seem weak because she uses arrows all the time, but take this into consideration. In "Kikyou, the tradgic Priestess ressurected" Kikyou had more than just an arrow. she can form barriers and use pure power without the help of the arrow. If Sango threw the Hiraikotsu at Kikyou, she can simply put up a barrier and deflect it.

I don't have anything against Sango, for your information. It's just that all this: "SANGO'S BETTER THAN KAGOME AND KIKYOU BECAUSE SHE'S TOUGHER!!" Really pisses me off. Furthermore, the whole: 'Kagome's too perky' annoys me just as much. Kagome is NOT always happy. If she's always happy as most people say she is, then she must laugh and act perky when Inuyasha gets hurt. Does she do that? No... in fact, I'll have you look up KANSHOU INUYASHA on the search engine and then find "In Defense of Kagome". There, he explains all.
