Pics and Stat/Skill Build!   My Stat Builds- Beginner to 1st JobWarning: this is not a guide, but just what I did -this is my first thief after all...lol. I went with the Thief class 'cause I've tried all the other classes except thief. I went with bandit 'cause this is my first account on Broa so I can't really afford decent stars, and I chose str bandit 'cause I like Sais n_n. **lvl 1-20 Dex to 25 and then maintain it at 2x lvl Str to 10 Everything else in Luk **lvl 21-30 Dex maintained at 2x lvl Str +1 Everything else in Luk My Thief Skill Build1st point went to DS ._.; Then I put 1 point in Dark Sight and decided to max Nimble Body first After I maxed Nimble Body, I put some points in Disorder and DS till I figured it'd be better to max DS first. I'm currently working on maxing Disorder...lol~ it's ok to mess up 1st job as long as I didn't put any points into Lucky Seven or Keen Eyes ._.; ...but if I were to do this over again, I'd probably go with this build for 1st job. 1 Double Stab Max Nimble Body 1 Dark Sight Max Double Stab Max Disorder I generally like to max passive skills first- it makes more sense to me for damage output and for saving mana for the 1st 10 lvls of the job. Anyway that thinking might not work for all classes I guess...for second job, I'm doing more planning and reading more faqs, guides, forums, etc.~ ^^

Progress: %0.02 (updated: 11/14/06) ...this is not including those 10% scrolls I want to upgrade these items... ^^; Expensive!! I refuse to spend NXcash 'cause...my main on Bera spends it all on her hair and pets. -.-" ....so I'm making money the way a lot of other players make money. 1. Loot whenever allowed to loot. 2. Selling scrolls, equips, and PQ stuffs on Basil... Basil is my friend! 3. Selling quest items like octo legs and leaves to players in the game. 4. Abusing the Relaxer, saving pots. 5. Training where I can kill in 1-2 hits... ._." 6. Being nice and training noobs. Sometimes they give me a couple mesos for getting them to lvl 10. 7. Refusing to upgrade armor/weapons. Was stuck with noob clothes and noob weapon till lvl 20 when a friend invited me to PQ. Disclaimer: oh yeah, this is my new Gaian account- I used to be candyripper~...so in case you're lurking and you accidentally see her journal, and see these random rants about Raivree on MapleStory Broa, we're the same person! ...and I like journaling ~hahaha!

ThanksgivingRaivree turned in 300 eggs to Cody and got...nothing. 1/500 chances...and even if she gave 500, there's only a 63% chance, so they said at sleepywood.net. So she gave up and just decided she'd be ok with finding a Maplehontas.   Ok...so it took her two levels... ._.; But she finally found one and it goes rather well with her red Chinese dress. n_n She gave up on finding M and S too.  AA = Alcoholics Anonymous

Level 30!!!Raivree into a bandit November 18, 2006. <3 She turned lvl 31 yesterday... =o She'll never be able to pq in Kerning again....below is a pic with her best PQ party.  Oh yeah, Disorder FTW!!  That's a lupin hitting Raivree after she attacked it with disorder. It usually hits her double that. When it starts throwing bananas at her, it only damages her 60 HP. Without disorder, that banana damage is 100 HP. It is by far, the best thief skill in my book!!

New Stat Build for lvl 30-70
Ok~! I actually cracked open excel and made a spreadsheet based off of the weapons and armors I need for every 10 levels. By lvl 40, if I keep putting 1 point in str, and 2 in dex, I'll be short 5 luk so I won't be able to equip until 43, unless I wear a hat, gloves, cape, and shoes that increase luk by 5 points. That shouldn't be too difficult =)
Short overview of Attributes:
Str= raises lowest possible damage- makes it more stable
Dex= to hit things
Luk= increases higest possible damage
**lvl 31-40
1- Str
2- Dex
2- Luk
Final lvl 40 stats
Str= 30
Dex= 80
Luk= 105
**lvl 41-50
1- Str
2- Dex until Dex = 90; rest goes to Luk
2- Luk
Final lvl 50 stats
Str= 40
Dex= 90
Luk= 135
**lvl 51-60
1- Str
1- Dex
3- Luk
Final lvl 60 stats
Str= 50
Dex= 100
Luk= 165
**lvl 61-70
1- Str until Str = 55; rest goes to Luk
1- Dex
3- Luk
Final lvl 70 stats
Str= 55
Dex= 110
Luk= 195
I hear dex is more important than luk. Makes sense because I'd like to be able to hit things, but like I said earlier with this build, I'd be short on luk because points go to str. So...once I get minimum base luk needed to equip, I'll put more points in dex.

S & M Booya! Raivree actually did find M & S...she found M last week off of a zombie mush, and S off of a zombie mush.. xD Blah~ I can afford NX cash, so I don't really care to try for the raffle. So...that just means more mesos for her pixel gear! xDD

<3Being lvl 35 is hot!!! Raivree went crazy and power levelled on Wild Boars yesterday. She went from lvl 33 to lvl 34...somehow it took me a whole day 'cause -oh yeah, I can't play maple story for more than 4 hours at a time. I take a long long break after 4 hours. Then she got bored of boars and did a bunch of ludi quests till it brought her up to 50%. I finished getting the other 50% on teddies today! domokun Too bad she didn't get a kfan during the boar hunt, but she did get ...about 6 weighted earrings ._.; One thing I love about being a thief is their gear- it's just awesome <33  So far, it's nice being a thief. I like the speed, double stab, disorder, and the clothes. I also like dark sight...I mock warriors trying to run through block golems at eos tower-lol. I don't like the fact that my character's weak, and that she doesn't have any sort of 'magic-guard' type spell to make up for the low hp.....archers don't either, but at least they don't have to come up so close to the monster. Later on, I'll be stuck on SB for a couple seconds too, and big monsters won't even flinch. xD ...then flying monsters are rough!!! Still, if I were to choose a melee type character, I'd go with the thief. Warriors are cheaper, have more hp, but their slow and their clothes suck! xD

A Rant on Maple Economics
For the amount of hackers on Broa, stuff there is pretty overpriced...I mean you'd think more hackers => more item drops => less price...but I guess more hacking => more money for hackers and looters => more willing to pay for overpriced everything... ._.;
*shrugs* It's still cheaper to farm for your own crap, and it's painful...but but, you also get exp!!! I guess killing two birds with one stone's a good thing ._." Basilmarket is also good for getting above average equips almost half the npc's price.
So, I was debating with myself on whether or not I should start buying scrolls to beef up my lvl 35 gear. It'd probably be more cost effective though at higher levels when I can actually start farming for my own scrolls, and it'd take forever to get to the level to wear the next outfit. What I train on at this level only gives enough mesos to refill pot. The drops aren't that great either.

The end?
I started playing Maplestory since April 2006, but I stopped for a bit for 2.5 months somewhere in the middle to give my fingers a rest~ *cough*RagnarokOnline*cough*
So in 4.5 months, I've tried out every single character class now, though not all the subclasses. I have a lvl 49 I/L Wizard, a lvl 41 Hunter, and a lvl 35 Bandit. I have a Page of some low 3x lvl and I'm working on a warriortobe Spearman, but overall, I think I like archers better. I'll go with a Crossbowman though 'cause they're not as popular and therefore cheaper.. xD
In general, I think I like archers better. That, and these movies just made me wanna become a lvl 50 archer soooo bad now xDD
Yes...archer's PKB somewhat make up for the lack of PvP that all the other MMOs have...well, I don't like PvP anyway, but the idea I could kill someone amuses me >D
Well, I still enjoy my Broan Bandit- I mean for a first character & a Bandit on that server, I've made 2million by lvl 30 without NX. So...I'm going to retire her and move back to Bera to start working on a Crossbowman/woman... xD

Misfortune
I made my crossbowwoman on Broa on brand new account. Her name's Miwin...and I was trying to transfer some stuff between Raivree and her when they got mugged by a 6x thief-bandit-sin thing (couldn't tell) ;_;
...like wow, that was the first time I got mugged during an FM transfer! xD I only lost my Special 'S', but whatever, I bought it back for the same price I sold my Special 'M' before. If I can't turn in M-A-P-L-E-S-T-O-R-Y to the admins, I'll just keep the 'S' to spell R-O-S-E.
It must be the new droprate, but Miwin, the noob archer did find my second Broan 'M' off a red snail & a Maplehontas, and she's only lvl 15 xD *sigh* Two days on Miwin though wasn't as much fun as two days on Raivree... Or maybe it's just been badluck all around because someone on Basil just sold me a 46atk Gephart he accidentally typed to be 56atk....I made 10k off of it though because I asked for a misadvertised discount! But I still don't have a lvl 35 blade ._.;
*Resurrects her* Maybe I'll have 3 main characters. My i/l wiz for Bera, and Miwin and Raivree for Broa xD Yeah...sucks too that I'm going to the Philippines after Christmas...I won't be able to play Maplestory, and I might not be able to see my friend visiting from Boston -.-" So...I'll just go back to Miwin 2007!!! xD

Change in Build
Maybe going 2 mastery, 1 SB isn't such a good idea because by lvl 35, you have 10 mastery and 5 SB, and 5 SB is just useless = 5 points wasted.
Though the mastery does help boost up the DS enough to tackle decent monsters. I should've just maxed mastery first to train on DS properly and then work on SB...so I'm changing the plan, and by lvl 40, I should have 10 mastery, 20 SB, and 1 haste...lol
Anyway, Raivree got her Kfan today from a guildmember who was very disappointed when he learned she was a str. bandit. Raivree instantly became his failed daughter...and she retorted with snappy words, "Man, I'm not a carbon copy of you- get over it. -.-"
I like the str bandit's daggers- they're so fast, its impossible for any other class to ks them (which is good for a melee), and in mobs, they're fast enough to stay on one target. The kfan's slowness sorta makes me disappointed, but...the extra accuracy and avoidability is awesome anyway!! xD
edit....woots! lvled to 36 today, and 8 SB still sucks!!! fudge it- I'm going to max mastery F3

The week after Thanksgiving
Pretty crappy, if I'd say so myself... lol. It took Raivree a whole week to get to lvl 36 because yeah, I wanted to make an archer!! xD I also wanted to lvl my i/l wiz on Bera >>;
Then I was discouraged by lack of kfan. The gephart exchange was disappointing. The kfan exchange was exciting, but very disheartening afterwards.
Today, she ran into a new friend in Aqua Road who turned out to be scammer that later on claimed he was hacked and tried to scam her with that 'I can double items' trick... >>; Then she also had a Basilmarket trade, with another scammer who gave her the first negative feedback that accused her of lying about the price.... I gave him neutral feedback, for accusing her of lying about the mithril wand's stats and being an a-hole about the whole trade... -.-"
Note to self: check buyer's feedback and blacklist... xD & take screen shots for proof of validity in case some a-hole decides it'd be fun to falsely accuse me of something again. -.-" Anyway, it wasn't fun waiting on these Basil trades~ I'm giving it a break until the New Year. xP
