It was late in the day after Wahabu's episode with Kilango, and the juvenile was out and about again. The wounds on his back and neck, still recent, stung him, but he was determined to go look for something he'd lost- the feather that K'Anatak had given him. He'd guessed it must have gotten lost sometime between the time Kilango dragged him out of the den and the time his father brought him back. He knew he had little hope of finding the feather after leaving it outside in the wind over night but he still wanted to find it. It was a nice reminder of a great friend, and that was what he really needed at the moment.
So, going slowly he kept his eyes open for any stray white feathers. After several attempts at craning his neck pained him, Wahabu determined to get a good, wide view around that he would have to climb onto something. When he found a decent size rock, he bit his lip and struggled to climb it.
"Must find it," he murmured to himself.

He was flying today, in the clouds for shelter from viewings of others below his frame. His white pelt blended in with the clouds so he didn't have to worry too much about this. He was over the Pridelands today, he had sensed something, movement, of part of himself. Perhaps Wahabu was playing about today? Could be the only explanation, since he had only given Wahabu a feather in these lands.
"Where would he be?" K'Anatak asked himself aloud. Peering down with blackened eyes, he could see the distant vague image of something tiny and white, flowing in the wind. His heart ached for a moment, Wahabu had let it go? No. That couldn't be the reason. Wahabu seemed like such a nice cub, he didn't seem like a lion to throw away something that seemed to mean so much in a single instant.
Then something else crossed K'Anatak mind, what if he had gotten hurt? He flapped his wings again, picking up speed, now using the wings on his forelegs to cut into the wind and go faster, he peered around from where the white feather was, but still couldn't see Wahabu anywhere.
Where would he be?

After a short struggle to climb to the top of a nice sized rock without using his neck or head to help, Wahabu took a moment to look back in the direction he'd come from, back towards his family's den. From this added height, it didn't look like he'd missed it, and he shuddered at the mere idea that Kilango might be back there. His fear of her became more sincere after the attack, and he was as keen as ever not being caught alone with her. He sighed and finally turned around to search the area around him for any signs of the feathers.
He was surrounded by grass, tall grass. It certainly looked hopeless, and he felt it. If the feather was out there, he wasn't going to find it this way! Grumbling over the loss of his most treasured possession, Wahabu collapsed onto the rock and just lay there staring off in the distance.

Black hues still couldn't find the yellow bundle of fur he had come to know and befriend. He really did begin to wonder if he had gotten hurt, and had lost the feather that way. K'Anatak made a circle in the sky then leaned forward, tucking his wings in, relying on the wings of his forearms for direction and control. He picked up speed and came within feet of the ground then slowed down and plopped down on the ground with a 'thump' and picked up the feather with his paw. It was still pure white, no dirt, no sign of a scuffle. It had the scent of Wahabu on it, so he held it in between his feathers on his forearms and began walking in the direction of his little friend. Hoping he would find him there.
He didn't bother hiding himself in allusions, if Wahabu was in trouble, he wanted the opposer to see what they would have to deal with if they were trying to harm him, K'Anatak saw something yellow in the not too far distance. Wahabu? It had to be him.
Hopefully Wahabu could see him from this far away.

Wahabu stared off in the distance, his eyes not really focussing on anything that he saw there. He was only thinking, wondering where his feather had gone off to, what K'Anatak would think if he knew he lost it.. what would happen if he had to face Kilango again. Overall, his mood was quite low and his expression was a clear reflection of it.
It took him a moment to realize there was something big and white in the distance, and then he blinked a couple times to focus his eyes. Wahabu tilted his head, and with a wince returned it to a more-or-less straight position. His neck wasn't so painlessly flexible at the moment.
"K'Anatak?" he murmured, wide-eyed. There were only so many big, feathery white lions that the young lion knew, but it was such a coinsidence it was hard to believe. Maybe he'd find out sooner what the god thought of his lost feather, and the thought made him frown.

K'Anatak chose to go straight forward towards the yellow mass, to his surprise (sorta) there was indeed Wahabu, perched by the tall grass on a rock. He didn't seem to happy, he wasn't smiling. K'Anatak tilted his head at the child, pulling his wings on his back closer to his frame, "What's the matter Wahabu?"
Was he not happy to see him?
Had he already done something wrong?
K'Anatak sat back a couple of feet from Wahabu, curling his tail around himself, "I came looking for you, I thought you were moving, I could feel it..." then he glanced over Wahabu, noticed the scars on the small cub, "What happened are you alright?!" He asked in a somewhat panicked voice. Someone had hurt him so badly, who would do such a thing to him? Wahabu was only a cub, he couldn't have done something THAT horrible could he have?

Wahabu stared, not at all surprised to see that it was K'Anatak that arrived. Part of him was very happy to see him, the other part of him was trying to figure out how to explain what happened to the feather. The only problem with the story about the feather was that he wasn't even sure what happened to it. He didn't get a chance to reply to the god's first question before his scars were noticed and he panicked.
At least this made it sound like he might be more understanding, especially if he didn't know when he lost it- he certainly had had other things on his mind.
"M-my sister tricked me," he explained, still frowning, "I think.. I think.." Wahabu trailed off there, he didn't want to think about or admit that she'd tried to kill him- especially since he just about let it happen. He shook his head, "I lost the feather you gave me, I came looking for it but I can't find it." He sounded most distressed while explaining this, though some emotion from the surpressed explanation leaked through to it.

K'Anatak heart beat slowed down, breath calm, his wings let loose a bit from relaxation, he was still however angry at Wahabu's sister, why on earth would she do such a thing? He huffed to himself, and smiled warmly at Wahabu, "Just glad you are alright now Wahabu, if she tries it again, call for me..."
Then he noted Wahabu stated he lost the feather, he smiled and reached with his paw to the feathers of his wing on hie foreleg, and pulled out the loose feather held there. He held it out in his paw and smiled, "You mean this one? Do not worry Wahabu, for it has found you again, just like I have, I followed the aura of it, my own, thought you were with it and was not. It is alright, no worries my friend," he placed it on the rock in front of Wahabu and smiled, hopefully that would make the child happier.
"Is there anything I can do, to help Wahabu?" he asked, perhaps the scratches hurt him, or he was just emotionally pained now. Poor thing, why would someone hurt his friend?

He looked thoughtfully at the god, thinking about what he said. He was glad that he was alright, it could have been a lot worse, even if he didn't want to think about just how much worse. Wahabu smiled sheepishly at the instruction he was given, he hadn't even thought of calling for help but now he knew he could. He had his mother, father and his friend all willing to help him, all concerned for his safety, and that made him feel very lucky.
He watched curiously as K'Anatak smiled and produced the feather, one he felt sure he could recognize as his own though he himself had no idea. The smile he wore widened, and he felt even luckier.
"You found it!" he squeaked excitedly, putting his paw over it and protectively pulling it closer to himself, "Thank you! I never would have found it out here." Still beaming over the feather, he shook his head. K'Anatak had done a great deal for him just by showing he cared and bringing back his feather.

K'Anatak's smile warmed adn he felt a warmth in his body, to see a cub, no, not a cub, to see a friend be so excited and so happy from a single gesture. It made K'Anatak long for a family of his own, but that he did not have, nor ever knew if he would have such a thing. Who would want to be around him and risk the safety of any possible cubs with his brother on the loose? It seemed improbable that he would ever have a family.
But he held that within himself for the time being.
"I am glad that you are happy and safe now Wahabu, just know you can call for me, if you ever lose the feather, it does not matter, it will lose its luster then, but if you wish for me to be at your side, call for me with your heart and mind, wish for reflection to be upon you, and I will be there," he said with a nod, his tail flicking from side to side.
"How have you been since I've been away Wahabu? Tell me of a happy experience you've had since I've been gone."

How easily K'Anatak could brighten Wahabu's afternoon! Still smiling he settled onto the rock more comfortably now that he mind was eased and he was just chatting instead of searching. A much more passive activity deserved a less tense position.
"I'm glad to see you again!" he replied, making sure he cut in so he got his say this time before K'Anatak continued. Then he nodded to show he was listening when he explained what circumstances were appropriate for calling him, smiling.
"I've been good besides Kilango," Wahabu said with a matter-of-fact nod, then took a moment to think of a happy time he'd had, "I made a friend that's my size! He's all white and likes climbing trees, we had a race up a tree. Oh! He asked about gods and stuff, and I told him about you and Athrun and everything."
There was a pause before he continued as he tried to recall what Kubwa wanted to know, "He wanted to know if mortals can become gods! I said I'd ask, because I don't really know about it. But we decided our mama's should be gods."

K'Anatak chuckled to himself, oh the curiosity of a young cub. They wanted to know everything didn't they? K'Anatak wished he could stay here and tell bunches of stories to Wahabu, even his friend. But he knew deep down, that would probably never be possible. "Mortals cannot become gods in their lifetime, but a soul can be reborn I suppose, and possible be generated into a godlike form... I think..."
K'Anatak shifted himself and tried to explain, "You see, my mother, she raised my brother and I, she...left us, when we were young. I unfortunately did not get to ask her such questions, being alone with a brother such as mine was not the most memorable fond times of my life. Anything is possible I suppose, when rebirth occurs possibly..." K'Anatak said with a nod, though he was still unsure of everything he had said.
He hoped there was some truth to it.
"Though Wahabu, since I have seen you last I had found the one I had been looking for, it seems meeting you gave me the luck I needed to find him, I thank you for that."

Wahabu blinked and tilted his head slightly despite the small stinging pain that came with the gesture, "I didn't think that mortals can become gods, but.. I didn't know souls can be reborn. Does that mean you never really die?" His eyes were full of curiosity as K'Anatak continued to explain what happened with him and his brother. It sounded to him like maybe he had similar feelings about his brother as Wahabu had about his sister, though not the fear part. The whole rebirth discussion was quite confusing to him, so instead he focussed on what K'Anatak told him next.
"You did?" he grinned, "Good! Who were you looking for, anyway?"
So nosy, but it would be interesting to know who a god had to spend a good deal of time looking for. Gods should just be able to find anyone they want.

K'Anatak knew that god and goddess souls were constantly reborn, that it was highly unlikely for any to lose their lives, except he knew of one who lost her whole god-like family. Giving their lives and their reincarnatable souls up so that she would live, she would survive a terrible ordeal she dealt with in cubhood.
Too bad he had failed helping her.
He smiled warmly at Wahabu, lay down no the grass and closed his eyes for a moment, remembering when he had found him, "My father... I had never seen him before, I found him a little while ago, was nice..." he had never known much about his father form his mother, only that he was not aorund. But it seemed that his father still cared for him ina strange way, which was better then nothing.

Wahabu watched his friend intently as he thought over the events that had passed, and the answer that hee was given surprised him. He straightened his head and blinked.
"Your father? Why hadn't you seen him before?" the cub sounded truly confused by the concept of never having seen your father. His father had always been there, just like his mother and, though he wasn't so happy about this, his sister. To him, it seemed only normal to know and be with your whole family. He started to wonder about his mother's family, suddenly, but quickly turned his mind back to their conversation. "Is he as nice as you are?" he asked with a smile.
