Has anyone read the Lioness Quartet? It's a series of 4 books by Tamora Pierce about a girl who switches places with her twin brother so she can become a knight. It's a good book, I definitely recommend it! 3nodding

I've read those books though I prefer the sequel quartets. I wasn't very impressed by Allana as a main character.

I've read many of the books in the Tortall series by Tamora Pierce, actually. I used to be really big into her writing. I actually liked Alanna as a main character, but I think Kel (from the "Protector of the Small" series) was much more defined and interesting--if a little bit... over-used.

Persoanlly of all three series i liked wild magic the most for some reason .i guess part of t is sure it's good enough writing i'll read it but just reading plain military planing for a few pages or stuff about how much insert name hereis in shape in get a little daunting after awhile. The wild magic series shows her connection with animal though her need to learn self control like when she tries to quiet her heart beat to concentrate ad it turns out she did it physically as well.

I remember really loving it in middle school. I found it by accident and could not put it down. I only read the Wild Magic series after that. I tried reading other series by Tamora Pierce, but at that point the writing began to sound the same (and the writing was never all that good, in my opinion, in the first place...the plot was cool, though).

I love her books! I've read all of them! Wild Magic is definitely my favorite series out of the Tortall books, though, if only because it's different from the other two series. The Lioness quartet and Protector of the Small Quartet both seem rather the same - learning in the palace and fighting, if the circumstances are somewhat different. As a character Alana gets a bit annoying and Kel is too stolid and sensible to be really much interesting.

I loved the Imortals Quartet, they were pretty good, I liked the first two books of The lioness Quartet, but after the third everything started getting old. So I just stopped. But I'd have to say I loved Emperor Mage out of all her books.

^^ Say, did you all know you can e-mail her? She'll even write back and she's *very* nice. http://www.tamora-pierce.com/mail.htm^In case you wish to. ^^~ I liked the Immortals Series. I read her books when they come out, but I'm no fanatic. I liked the last Immortals book the best and Shatterglass or whatever that one from The Circle Opens was called...
