True to his word, Alan brought Felaror back to his room at the Nest, laying the boy down on the bed and tucking him in. He was beginning to wonder how exactly these things happened, how he ended up with those who needed looking after... the babies he understood. He was good at dealing with children. But these older ones... contrary to what most people seemed to think, Alan really wasn't particularly good at dealing with other people's problems. He enjoyed his solitude. Were it up to him, he would've lived his life out quietly with his wife and son, and would've simply never dealt with others outside his small town.

He was a simple person, which is what it came down to. He wasn't cut out for working on emotional distresses. But that's what he was being called on to do. Ah well. He'd figure it out one way or another.

The boy tossed and turned in his sleep throughout the night, though his muscles ached and his eyes burned he still saw perfectly in his dreams, hos body could complain later. Jerking upright Felaror growled lowly, he looked around before realising where he was "he, he actually took me away from there" he said suprised, he hadnt expected the anthro to actually hold true to his word and take him somewhere safer

"Yes, I did," Alan murmured, rising from the seat he'd been dozing in. "Would you like something to eat?" he offered quietly, considering the boy. "There's a kitchen just downstairs, and always someone making something edible."

Felaror jumped as he herd the boys voice "oh, I didn't know you were in here" he said blushing ever so slightly "um, i'm alright" he didn't want to bother the boy more then he already had.

"Are you sure?" Alan asked, considering. "And are you feeling any better?"

Nodding gently he raised up further and crossed his arms, realising he must be in the boys bed he quickly clambered out, he ended up tripping over the blankets but catching his balance and standing back up strait "yes, i'm feeling better" he said finally answering in words, he felt like a fool now, and like he was intruding

((Drace, just so you know, Alan's not a boy. He's in his late twenties-early thirties. >>; ))

"That's good," Alan murmured, nervously stroking a strand of hair back. "Is there anything I can do for you?" Or should he just let this 'Felaror' leave? There was obviously something wrong, but it wasn't something Alan could fix either. Damnit... why were things so complicated?

( alright, but I just tend to use boy when refering to the male species )

Felaror gave a nervous smile as how calm the boy was "i'm not sure" he admitted. Felaror knew that if he left here he had no where to go but back down onto the streets.

((Could use man, ne? I'd prefer it if you did. sweatdrop ))

...oh damn. That meant that he had to get involved. Alan had been actively attempting to stay out of problems, but he didn't see a way out of this. "...may I ask why?" he fought to keep from sighing the question out. It needed to be said. He had a responsibility. Even if he didn't care for the responsibility, it existed, it was important-- and he would abide by that.

Felaror opened his mouth to say something but stopped "its nothing, I should go" he said searching for the shirt he had discarded the night before.

(i'll meet you half way and use male, is that okay?)

(( 3nodding Thanks for understanding.))

Helping the boy find his shirt, Alan considered him. "...are you sure?" Because even if he didn't know if he could help or not, he still had to ask. He still had to make the effort because it changed things, it made a difference.

Felaror paused and gave Alan a forced smile "thank you, but I don't want to cause any more trouble then I have" finally finding his shirt he quickly slipped it on and headed for the door, he stopped with his hand on the doornob, he had no idea where he was, he figured he would get lost but had to take that chance "thank you for helping me" he said looking back at the male whos room he was in

(no problem ^.^)

Alan sighed softly, considering the boy-- how young he was!-- for a moment. Everything in him cried out that he needed to help in some fashion-- that was his purpose here, wasn't it? To assist. To be of assistance. To help. To make everything go a little more smoothly for those around him.

And yet another part couldn't bring himself to do it. Perhaps it was the thoughts which had been plaguing him for so long, the voices from the past screaming at him in their vicious way. Or perhaps it was something new rising within him, saying that everyone needed to learn how to stand on their own sometime.

But he was so young. So very, very young. Not much older than the children Alan had helped raise. Could he step away, walk away from this child and let him suffer alone? He couldn't, could he? Children needed guidance, needed someone to watch over them, else they ended up lost like so many before.

"...you haven't caused any trouble," Alan murmured. "...and are you sure there's nothing I can do for you?"

Felaror blinked and looked at the ground "I don't to cause any, if my brother or parents find me here it will only cause you trouble, so its best if i go somewhere where I don' even know where I am so they wont find me" he said quiely. The hybrid looked at the ground feeling guilty that he was telling his story
