It was a quiet day, at least a quiet one for Cordain as he made his way into the library. He had no pressing matters, nothing important to take his time so he decided he would entertain himself with a book. He passed all the fancy new books and went straight into the back, where the old books were kept the ones that could not be checked out.

His fingers slid across the bindings as he walked down the isles. The old leather bindings, and the vellum and parchment fillings, the idea of taking one of these ancient transcripts, opening it up and reading it made him smile in delight. Eventually he found it, the one that sung to him today.

He took the book carefully off of the shelf only to have a scroll case fall out, apparently hidden behind the tome. Setting it down on a nearby table he returned to pick up the scroll case and examined it. It was brown leather with red leather straps and gold buckles.

He returned to the table with the scroll case in hand and cautiously, carefully opened it as he let the scroll slide out. It was not long before he broke the seal and rolled the parchment open to find an image of crystales and words that looked like they were of a russian dialect.

His interest piqued he put the scroll away and returned the tome, making his way to the library manager to ask about the scroll he found. The manager, having no clue about it figures it was left by someone who did not lay claim and that Cordain would be contacted if the owner came looking for it.

In thanks, Cordain left with the scroll case in hand, a bit surprised it had not been put in the lost and found but he did not mind. He made his way home and began researching information about the scroll, his research bringing him to the front steps of the Musaeum; In Memoria...

Cordain sat on his couch in his luxurious condo right in the heart of town, one of three homes he owned, all under different aliases. It was just proof of how good he was at his job. On his lap he held the baby Halcyon who was looking around with prismatic eyes and making small sounds of interest. One hand at all times held onto the crystal paperweight that had woken him from his scroll.

Cordain gave a small shake of his head and laughs lightly as he looks up at the ceiling, "...Well this is by far the strangest event to come into my life...I went from what I was to a father just because I got bored and wanted to read up on history."

Halcyon smiles and coos quietly as he holds the crystal paper weight in his hands. Cordain gently sets Halcyon down on the couch and gets up as the phone rings, he makes his way over and picks it up. "Hello? Yes this is Maycen....Send the payment to my account and he'll trouble you no ore."

Cordain was in a park, a place that was foreign to him outside of killing someone who happened to be there at the time. He came there for a different reason, he felt that it would do Halcyon good to get out and experience fresh air. He just sat there however, holding Halcyon as he watched other parents with their children.

He felt out of place, a dealer of death in a place so full of life, his dark ears twitched lightly as he silently watched. Halcyon seemed perfectly happy to sit and watch as well as he held his crystal paper weight. A pouch for it had been fashioned that allowed him to carry it with him without actually having to hold onto it all the time.

Then a swing for children, small children opened up and Cordain put Halcyon's crystal in it's pouch that Halcyon wore. He lifted him up and moved to the swing before gently setting Halcyon down into it. "So I just push him lightly..." he said quietly as he began to gently push Halcyon.

The sound that emitted from Halcyon was one of pleasure at the experience of swinging. This continued until another parent came over holding her child, "Well aren't you just a cutie...with your child. Single father?" she asked.

Cordain simply grunted an affirmitive, annoyed that the woman had interrupted him. He was one who prefered to be alone, or now just with his adopted son. She leaned over and grinned at him, showing more than was decent of the inside of her shirt in the process, "You want to go on a date mister handsome?"

He gently stopped the swing and pulled a confused Halcyon out. Halcyon wasn't done enjoying the swing but apparently Cordain was done and he promptly left, "A woman like that shouldn't be let near her children, no respect for herself or others."

Halcyon yawned and awoke before Cordain did this morning. The normally calm child had found something that had excited him the previous night, it was a book filled with strange, mystical words. He had fallen asleep reading the book, trying to decipher and pronounce the words, but nothing had happened as of yet.

He moved out of his bedroom and into the study in Cordain's pent house apartment, climbing into a big chair and smiling as he opened the book and turned the lamp on again. He began slowly trying to sound out the various arcane words, trying to understand them.

As he was reading, Cordain made his way into the study as he ran a hand through his hair, "...Interested in magic Halcyon?" he asked as he sat in another chair. Halcyon looked up, "Is that what this is? A spell book?" Cordain nodded his head in response, "That it is. I'll talk to Nara about classes or such for you."

Halcyon gave forth a smile and returned to trying to read the spell book on his own.

A small, badly sewn doll was set on the doorstep of the pent house. A white body, with largely spaced, black stitches. It's eyes were the same as Halcyon's. Prismatic. It had a hat that was too big for it's head and a blue and pink necklace that could work as a bracelet for a normal person. A small note was set under it's leg, with small letters "Halcyon" was writen.

Isdra
Halcyon,
I'm sorry about smacking you. I'm guessing it probably hurt... Alot. Yeah... Sorry about that. It was mean... I wasn't expecting that, that's why. So... Yeah, just don't do it again... Ugh. This is a bad apology note. I'm not used the writing sorry notes, so sorry. This is the first one I've written...

Anyway... I wanted to make sure I made you something, since you had been so nice. It wasn't as pretty as I hoped it'd be, but I tried... I actually bought the hat for it. It looked cool, but it turned out to be too big. I hope you like it...Yeah...

Halcyon moved his way to the door having noticed something sitting on the doorstep. After pressing the buttons that cordain told him to before opening the door, he was given the green light to open it.

Once the door was open, Halcyon stared in shock before he quickly grabbed the plushie and note, closing the door quickly behind him and moved back to the study where he was reading even more books. However those were set aside to read the note that Isdra left.

"...Ah...Thank you Isdra." he hugged the plushie, setting it on his lap before he went back to studying silently. Cordain arrived after a bit and smiled at Halcyon in the study before he went out into the gardens and sat on a bench to watch nature, although what he really was seeing was Papina in his eyes.

"Hmm...what is it about that girl that...ah...don't tell me I'm falling for the leafy princess..." Cordain gave a laugh as a hand came to his face, of course he was, she was innocent and pure, everything he was not.

"No! Please NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo........!" echoed in Halcyon's head as he sat up in the library, wide awake as he read a book. Although it was not the book that held his attention, but that of the dream he had. The dream that had him awake at two am. He closed his eyes, his body wanted him to sleep, but he couldn't, he didn't want too.

He knew the dream would return, or one like it, they've been plaguing him since he hit his adolescence growth period. Where they simply nightmares, or dreams of the past. Something about them terrified him, and not just what he was seeing, but what he was doing in the dream.

He looked at the notes he had written, a different victim each dream, diamond bladed surgical instruments, even crude shards of onyx were used. Each to bind, pin down and slowly, methodically kill each person. Always a woman, always young, maybe Isdra's age, maybe older.

He was also kind until he had them alone, that was when it happened. When he changed, they could scream all they want but no one came, no one ever came. The nightmares wouldn't abate either, they came to him when he was awake, those were terrible too, he could feel a voice whispering in his ear, "Kill...maim...murder...slaughter...It brought me great pleasure...and great understanding...you'll learn so much about people...so much more than your stone facade will learn alone...kill...maim...murder...slaughter..."

It was over in the harbor district of the town, early morning and a fine mist was slowly gliding across the city. It was going to be a damp, foggy day in a few hours. Perfect Cordain thought, that made this job so much easier. He nestled in and made one last check of the sniper rifle's settings. Perfect, everything was ready, now for the targets to arrive.

"Kssssht...Three cars incoming, two armored one limousine, Target is verified in Limousine by thermals" Came Halcyon's voice over the headset. Yep, Cordain thought, His son was getting into the family trade nicely.

The limousine pulled around a corner and stopped in front of the docks. They'd only get one chance at this, that thought always thrilled Cordain, it was also why he was the best, that one chance was all he needed, even without a slip up he could take the target down.

"Pops are green...You fire, I'll detonate then we high tail it." Halcyon set across their headsets. Gotta love having laser communication headsets, no picking up there.

The target finally stepped out, started up the ramp onto the cargo ship. Everyone was stunned when it happened, the man suddenly fell over the ramp into the water below, a bit of blood trailing from his head. One, clean, shot to the temple as it were and the target was down.

The gun shot was soon muted by several packs of remote C4 explosives detonating along the ships hull on one side. They had a bigger problem now than a dead man, the ship was going to rock back and the holes would fill with water, everything needed to sink the ship and all it's cargo.

Cordain and Halcyon slipped away quickly and quietly after packing up their gear. No signatures, no traces that they were even there on top of two separate buildings. Their escape was made good, the sinking ship and explosions drawing attention away from where they were as it was.

A little over half an hour later, they were back home, in the pent house above the hotel, Halcyon was waiting for Cordain to finish with the shower so he could clean up before bed. Mmmmm...I feel sated...the death...the destruction...ahhhh it's been too long...Follow me...listen to me...and I will show you how to play God, the rush of it, the feel of controlling whether one lives or dies...maim...murder...kill...destroy...

Halcyon curled, his job on the side never bothered him, he had taken that from his father, it was a fact, it was the constant voice in his head, the voice that wouldn't go away. He had to find this Nara woman, who knew all about the scroll children, find her and talk to her.

((OOC: WARNING! This is bordering on Graphic in the Gore department! Do not read if queasy stomached.))

Hal was asleep, exhausted from another day of training and exercising with his father. He was getting more and more into shape each day, and he felt like his sanity was slipping away more and more with each passing day the voice in his head taunts him.

In his dreams, he stood in a shallow pool, the world to dark to see more than a few feet. Hal cast his gaze down and gave a silent scream as he backed up quickly, the pool he was standing it was not water but chilled blood. He turned when his back struck something solid. He twisted and began trying to climb to get out of the blood without looking at what he was against.

Just barely out of the blood pool, he looked finally at what he was climbing, one hand came away as he howled in fear, he was climbing a pillar of skinned bodies that had been compressed together, each of them a young woman, Isdra's age or a little older

He fell back from the pillar back into the pool of blood. The pillar moving up and stepping back, as the darkness pushed back until he could see the whole of it. Before him was a massive being of bodies, a face similar to his own at the top of it, cruel and twisted with a grin.

"Welcome to your heaven and hell Halcyon...I am you or...you were me to be precise...I killed...I'd kidnap woman and slice them up while they were alive...removing parts...keeping them on the edge of death for as long as I could..." the massive face of him said.

Halcyon clambered to his feet and began to run through the blood that had begun to warm, "You can not run from me! The crystals you love so much...I was experimenting with diamond tools...the only way to truly find out how effective they were to use in surgery was to use live victims...but I couldn't use it on patients...so I took women..."

The face cackled as Halcyon stumbled and climbed back to his feet, running more, "I want to continue...the killing, it thrilled me, the screams, the pain...all of it please...let me out...let me kill!"

Suddenly there was Isdra before him in his dream, and him, but with black hair and sapphire blue eyes, "She'd be perfect...you'd be able to see how a double joint works...hear her cries of agony and pain...You're a young man, you could take advantage of her first before we played doctor..."

That angered Halcyon and he took a swing at his duplicate, he shattered, as did Isdra, diamond shards now all around him in the endless blood. Behind him he could hear the mass of bodies moving towards him. He looked at the last shards of Isdra before she disappeared into the blood pool.

Halcyon clenched his fist and grasped one of the crystals, it reshaped quickly into a sword which he took and rushed at the body, "NEVER! YOU WILL NEVER LAY YOUR HANDS ON ISDRA! NO ONE WILL HARM HER!" he shouted.

The being just laughed, "What is that going to do? Poke me? It's far to small!" it laughed. The laughter died as Hal did poke him, straight through the chest, the crystal extending into an incredibly long blade that retained it's rigidness. There was a silent scream, heard but not heard as the bodies began to fall off of the creation, until all was left was Halcyon and Halcyon, blade through the skull of another.

"...I'll...never...go away..." the speared one said weakly, "...No but you belong to me...You will obey me if you wish to not be torn asunder!"

The whole scene shifted it was just the two of them in darkness, the blood, the crystals, the bodies were gone. One halcyon, the black haired one was on his hands and knees before the other, "...I will never-"

"You will or you will cease to be, I will find a way...I do not have the...cruelty you have and if someone hurts Isdra I will need it, you can feed on the templars who hunt her."

"...So...I can kill...bathe in blood but like a falcon...only as directed?"

"Yes, you can. As my tool, as my weapon."

"Ahahahahaha..." He sat back and looked up at the white-haired Halcyon, "...Why not? I'll be your insane violent half."

....

Halcyon snapped awake, his alarm blaring...It was the first time he had waken up in months without a cold sweat. He knew, he knew what he had done, how he even became what he was now. He looked to his journal and the first thing he did that day, was to write down his past, and his dream.

Cordain gave a smirk at Hal, the two of them sat in a high point among the city, not accessible by 'normal' means of course. It was cold, and Hal was sore from waiting and not moving for an hour now.

Suddenly Cordain grabbed Hal and pressed their cheeks together, Cordain's breath making puffs of steam in the autumn air as he spoke quietly, "Five minutes, he just passed the last checkpoint, get ready. Remember, we only get a shot each."

Hal nodded his head to Cordain before he shut his eyes, Get out here I need you for this! he shouted into his head. The other him, the past him had been silent since that night of arguing and control in his mind. It had been just him.

To make matters more strained for him, he hadn't seen Isdra in months, most of the summer went by without her and he sorely missed Isdra.

There was a shift in Cordain's posture as he aimed the sniper rifle, this snapped Halcyon back to his senses who took up proper posture as well and sighted his scope. Like father, like son, and Cordain raised himself a good professional assassin, even if the child had strange qualities and no stomach for interrogation.

A limousine pulled up in front of a casino, and out stepped first were body guards who moved quickly to secure the area, after that stepped out two more, a man and a woman dressed for a high classed party. The man walked straight while the woman turned, almost as if she was looking at Hal.

Cordain did not hesitate a second and the man hit the dirt, dead in an instant as the round connected. Hal followed suit but froze, for him time had ceased as soon as he fired, the face, the hair. The woman looked too much like Isdra grown up.

---

Hal snapped awake in a cold sweat, shivering, "...again...Why won't it go away, why can't I forget?! It's been a week now...why does her face haunt me...it wasn't isdra...I know it wasn't...but...I..." he curled up and began sobbing.

"Isdra...where are you?..."
