Before I get bashed, I think Will Ferrell is an amazing comedian. His most recetn role as Harold Crick in Stranger than Fiction is marvelous. But he has reallly insulted ALW, Leroux, Erik and phantom phans nation wide. I dont know abot you guys but I take poto very seriosuly. I love it and he gives Erik such a bad...I dont know...look. Can you imagine if that is one of the first things non phantom phans see? They'll be confused and will have the worng idea. Erik is no someone you can really make fun of. I was very disturbed by it all, and as much as I love Ferrell, he angered me and disappointed me with that.

Honestly, that wasn't half as bad as some of the things actual phans say about a character just as important as Erik, but you don't find that insulting.
Not to be rude, but I think some people need to grow up (and I'm not just talking about people on Gaia. I've seen a lot of similar-themed indignation elsewhere). It wasn't all that funny (personally, Will Ferrell bores me), but methinks some people need to learn that their preferences are not exempt from mockery just because they're their preferences.

I'm not angry and i know laughter is the best mideicine, but that wasnt cool...
and just so raoul fans know...i dont absolutely hate raoul.. yes he is a bit effeminate...and in the book a bit fragile and emotional. but i dont hate him. i just happen to like erik a WHOLE lot more wink

I thought it was hilarious, personally.
Listen. You guys'll bash Raoul left and right but you gasp when someone makes fun of Erik. It was just fun. Ferrell didn't mean it to be offensive in anyway he's just a comedian...
There aren't extremely horrible things in there. The real name is Gerry made me fall of the chair because it was so stupid. I like Raoul and Erik pretty much equally. So it was funny to see Ferrell poke some fun at ALW.

Eh, it was just stupid if you ask me. I really can't stand when someone bashes Erik for being the way he was, but that just someone standing up and being stupid. It would be the same thing if he pretended to be V (V for Vendetta). It was something that could make a slight smile but then that's that. The crowd laughing so extremely uncalled for. He didn't do anything funny. You can mock anything, but you have to do it in a humerous way without making an idiot of yourself.

it was... mildly amusing..
i wasn't like, spontaneously erupting in laugher, but it brought a small smile to my face.
it was more an insult to gerard butler than anything, and i don't really like him that much anyway, i don't see why people feel all offended by it.

I can't say I loathe that man quite so much after seeing this. Gerik mocking = reason to like one better.
I do not get what's so insulting about this. It's a friggin' parody. People mock the things they like all the time. (Example from me: Harry Pothead and the Sorcerer Got Stoned.)
Sometimes people need to chill and just allow themselves to see beyond "OMG HE DID SOMETHING FUNNY BASED ON POTO".

Okay guys, if you can't laugh at something you are passionate about, then something is seriously wrong with you. He isn't BASHING PotO, he's making fun of the stereotype of PotO which is "mopey guy in a mask".
Parody is one of the highest forms of praise! Like dissent is the highest form of patriotism type thing.
