I don't know about everyone else, but I found everything after about... uhm... Sandry's book really predictable. ((I read Sandry's book first >.< ))
Especially the Circle Opens series--they jsut follow the same pattern book after book.
Ex: While reading Magic Steps, not even half way through, I knew that Sandry was going to weave a net of unmagic, and her student was going to do his fish-dance thing to lure the bad guys.
Did anyone else find these books really predictable?
BTW, I loved them all, despite the fact that they were predictable.

They can be predictble, but the world and the characters are very likeable. I must agree though that this series is inferior to the Tortall series, though the Emelan stories are still growing. Plus, I think that the Emelan stories are aimed at a little bit younger audiences than the Tortalls.

When I read them, I did not find them predictable. Sure, I knew the problems would be resolved by the one named on the book's cover, but I always enjoy knowing the HOW. That is what always surprises me.

I didn't like the Emelan books at all. confused I thought they were boring and, yes, very much predictable.

I'm bored so I'm adding to this. The characters for Emelan copies of Tortallan characters. I'm too lazy to think about all of them but some are a bit obvious.
Niko for example is a lot like Numair and quite frankly Tris could be Alanna in some ways. If people actually examine them they'll realize it's true. Briar for George and Rosto. Sandry makes me think of Sarai while Daja could be Kel in a way as she's bit more calm and levelheaded than the other three.
