DDB's Diary Only she should be posting here. ------------------------------------------------------------ August 4th- Ahhhh.. they grow so quickly! Welcome to the world of hormone Sidney. Oh well, atleast you've got some nicely defined arms to help enhance your whip skills. wink
Sep 12th- Due to the valiant effort between Acia and Sid to help out Nayati, Sid has hit the final step to becoming a child. Now that he has arms and hands to work with his learning may be able to progress a little more easily, not to mention the sort of adventures he can get himself into now. :3
July 25th- quite the inquinuative little one, learning to hunt and find food on his own. A real predator. ^ ^ Despite the killer instict he's also seemed to pick up a small sense of empathy.. which if you ask me, is one of the most cherished of all skills and traits. On a side note, I'm sure his writing skills, if you wish to teach him, shall improve greatly upon his later stages.
July 1st- With all the good care Sidney began to slither around today. ^ ^ Whether in attempt to be like you, or the Slytherin groups he seems to have picked up a scarf of his own. All the adventerous things you've shown him through his plushhood seems to have effected his tastes. This one is definately going to be a handful. heart
June 18th- An Aussie companion for a sweet Aussie girl? How cute. And he looks so friendly! heart Right now he's only fluff but one day I'm sure he'll be quite the handful. Teach him well.
General Info: Name: Sidney Gender: Male Size: 12 inches tall Born: June 18th Personality: This boy is about as independent as they come and has a true taste for adventure. He's friendly and doesn't hide from social endevours, but adventure and excitement are his love and will always take precidence.
Skills: Mezmerization: 6/10 Temperature manipulation: 6/10 ((*note* Rather a reverse snake power.. instead of being affected by temperature, he can manipulate temperature in certain things.)) Math: 4/10 Whip work: 4/10
Status:

Dee is Sidney's guardian, the one who received the key and opened the chest. She's just a normal human... well, at least when she's at home and at the shop, but that's the tale for another journal. wink Her full name is 'Andeena' but she doesn't tell many people this. She prefers the more common nickname 'Dee' and will always introduce herself as such.
About 21-22 years of age, she lived alone for a couple of years since her mother (and only known parent) died in a car accident. Recently however, she's taken in her best friend from school, Elissa, as her house mate. Giving her some needed extra income and her friend a cheap place to stay. Not to mention human company for them both.
Of course the house and stable are shared by some other occupants too:
(click thumbnail to view)

Wellard - Chocobo Dee's first occupation was breeding and boarding chocobos in the stables at her house. Unfortunatly she couldn't continue this with the cost of taking care of so many so now she just keeps her own one, Wellard. He's a blue breed of the species and so loves to run through the surf on the beach. But failing that he loves to run anywhere.
Palan - Cait Dee's very first cait, a gift from Rainfox when she first started the cait business. Palan is a very motherly type and has had a litter of her own with Chaka's cait Satie. She tends to 'adopt' the other young pets even if they aren't caits!
Telpe - Cait This is one of Palan's sons who Dee decided to keep. A shy thing and a bit of a loner. He doesn't mind being by himself, snoozing or simply watching things happen around him.
Moro - Cait The most recent cait that Dee's kept for herself. Very energetic and always sticking his nose into everything and anything, it's hard to catch him sitting still. Though not one of Palan's young, he still get's treated as if he were.

Sidney, D and the rest all live in an old tudor-style two-story inn just outside Barton Town. Well, I say 'inn' but she hasn't taken in guests since her mother died and left it to her. It's such an old-fashion house that it had some stables with it, She now keeps her chocobo, Wellard, in one and has converted the other stalls to house boarding, breeding and birthing caits. Other than that it's really just some paddocks.
And that's basically where things happen (when I write about things in the journal) unless I mention that it happened elsewhere.
The first floor has dark slate-paved floors, which Dee has covered in some areas (like the dining room and lounge) with large rugs. The walls are all white and in places there hang old photos and paintings. The ceiling is uncovered, showing the thick wooden beams holding up the floor above. They're all so old they're as hard as rock.
The kitchen has a small opening in the wall to pass through meals to the dining table (the servery). Just a small reminder of how the house used to be an inn. The kitchen has been renovated though, with new white-goods and Dee has hung old-fashioned brass pots and pans from the ceiling over the bench. A small door leads under the stairs (as can be seen by it's slanted door-frame. This celler is pretty much covered in the same slate stonework as the rest of the 1st floor, except it covers the walls too. It's about area size as the staircase space above it and along two walls are half-filled wine-racks. When in business, customers required a larger than normal section of drink to choose from. From here there is also a door that leads to the laundry and then outside. (The stalls are only a few meters away the the left of the house.)
The old dining table from years ago still remains, with it's thick wooden surface and seating for eight. Despite only having three people living at the house now (including Sid), Dee keeps it. It is a beautiful farm-style table and makes it easy to entertain her friends.
The lounge is far larger than normal too, so as to have accommodate any people who wanted to sit there without being too close to other house guests. In the lounge there is a couple of photos of her family, just her and her mother when she was a much younger girl.
 Second floor description coming soon.

A medium-sized slender snake, most renown for it's incredible markings. These can vary greatly and consist of bands, stripes, blotches, freckles, or a combination of all four. Their colours range from mottled brown, green, vibrant gold, to a pale yellow wash or even ivory.
Carpet pythons have a large distinctive head, that has been likened to the head of a dragon. Their mouths are lined with fangs and teeth yet they are smaller than the ones found on their poisonous cousins.
Although they don't live in trees constantly, they will climb on occassions. They also have a prehensile tail which helps then move around in the branches.
Careful and regular handling will result in a calm, tame carpet python. Although you have to keep a close eye on them, they are expert escape artists!
Specifics: Lifespan of 20 to 30 years Adults can reach sizes of 4 to 7 feet Native to the rainforests of Australia
Diet: Pythons will consider most small mammals, birds and other reptiles as prey. They attack and kill by first lunging at the animal and grabbing hold of it with their fangs and teeth. They then curl themselves around the prey and squeeze tighter with each breath the victim releases until it has been suffocated. The snake can then dislocate it's lower jaw and swallow the animal whole.
Pythons require a constant supply of drinking water but do not need feeding everyday. Hatchlings and juveniles should be fed one baby mouse a week. Adults should still be fed only once a week but can manage larger animals, like rats or small rabbits.
While snakes are known for eating prey larger than themselves, a good rule of thumb is to not feed them anything larger than the widest part of their body.

Sidney's favourite item of clothing is his scarf. He found it up in the attic, I think... He's particularly proud of it's Slytherin colours and I think he feels it looks rather dashing... in a hero adventurer sort of way. wink
Just like his hero Indiana Jones, Sidney has his own minature whip - a gift from Kanth and Erae. Great for fending off head-hunters and swinging across great chasms!
For his first Chirstmas Naraka gave him an orienteering kit. Compass, maps, a book on camping and survival in the wilderness, everything a good explorer needs. 3nodding
This little cutie was a gift from Huni. I'm glad Sidney followed her instructions and didn't eat it before. And such lovely colours!
