Taraneh trotted across the vast expanse of the temple courtyard, singing softly. She and her sister, Elu'ituha, had come here a little while earlier, but they had seperated to find some place to sleep for the night. Taraneh had been understandable upset over the fact that Elu had not returned to their original agreed meeting place until hours after dawn.
Taraneh sighed and continued on her way, her tiny wings flapped to the beat of the song she was currently singing. She and Elu were now going to look for food, but Taraneh suspected that Elu hadn't gotten lost as she claimed and she grinned knowingly at the thought of Elu finally finding a male. She continued to think these happy thoughts as she pranced about the temple grounds in search of food singing all the way.

Vulperomes had been wandering through the courtyard, when he spotted a female skipping around, colored like the first Robin of spring. He padded silently along, coming up behind her, a tactic he had perfected, only being heard when he wanted to be.Ears drooping with a cocky laziness, muzzle sporting his natural smirk he watched the pretty girl dance around and sing, enjoying her voice which he found surprisingly sweet. Waiting for a break, he sat down then spoke finally, "What song is that?"

Taraneh was too caught up like singing to notice the fox-colored male's presence, let alone his question. When she paused before beginning the next stanza she finally reqistered everything. She chirped in surprise and whirled around, glaring, "Hey! What's with sneaking up on me?" She demanded, her cheeks flushed a bit with color, she didn't like others hearing her sing if she didn't know them.
Her tiny wings snapped shut audibly as she glared at him. It was terribly rude to do such a thing to another person. She turned her head slightly and regarded him regally, "And who are you anyway?" She demanded. If he was going to be rude to her, she would return the favor.

"Apologies, madam." Vulperomes ducked his head politely, but still didn't stop his confident smiling, "It wasn't my intention to upset you. I was merely wandering when I overheard you singing and I couldn't help but be drawn to someone with such a sweet voice." He spoke genuinely, locking eyes with hers. The rest of his body didn't move, he stayed still and strong. Tail not even twitching as he watched the reactions of the now angry female in front of him.

Taraneh huffed at him, he was acting very rude, staring at her without moving and his apology did seem to be sincere, her was moving an inch in any form of apologetic behavior. She set her jaw, still klooked at her warily, "THank you for the compliment." She replied, though her body was also frozen. If he wasn't going to move, she wasn't going to either. Her golden-yellow eyes narrowed at him, such a strange malu he was. But she had met others like him and she wasn't going to simper and lie submissive as he silently tried to make her do.
As the silence lengthened she suddenly leapt onto a small wall of stone, and began walking away, once again singing. If he was going to start talking to her, she'd leave him, it wasn't fun just staring at someone else. Well, unkless you had a crush on them but she didn't for that male, so it'd didn't make a difference. Her gait emphasized the beat as she sang,
"May thee and the dreams we write be bound. May the echoing of the ends of the earth, the fields of heaven... and the voice of the rustling wind spin thee and each dream..."

Vulperomes seemed humoured by her reaction, eyes glinting. Silently he stood and followed after her for a moment before speaking again, "Madam, I didn't mean to seem rude, if that's how you feel." He raised a brow as he followed after her, still with a small smile.
"You really do have a lovely voice, it's quite nice listening to you." He paused and waited for her reaction.

Tara twitched her tail upward not speaking until she finished the stanza, "I'm not mated, sir, do not call me 'madam'." She replied curtly, glancing back at him from her superior height, "But thank you for the compliment. It was nice of you." She continued on her way, singing softly, though she was still quite aware of the male's presence. Finally deciding to deign the male with a few words-she still felt he was terribly rude and this was how she dealt with them, "The least you can do is tell me your name." She said, her gaze locked with his, a single eyebrow raised. She smirked inwardly and waited for his response, the next lines of the song she had been singing, inexorably beginning to form in her head, teasing her to sing again.

"Apologies." He smiled and sat down again, "I'll be sure to keep that in mind in the future. My name is Vulperomes, what might I be able to call you?" He smiled, undaunted by her strong, stubborn nature, finding it endearing and a bit cute.
There was nothing wrong with a strong female. He smiled and his tail twitched lightly, shaking of a bit of dust that had decided to cling to it. He kept his goat glossy and clean, very proud of him simple, but very unique coloring.

Taraneh set her jaw slightly, "My friends call me Tara, but you can refer to me as Taraneh. We are hardly friends." She herself sat down, situating herself daintily. He kept himself very well. Some males she had seen had been under the impression that females were enticed by a unkept coat and she found that distasteful, why should the female to be the only ones to take care of themselves?
She jerked her head slightly, flipped her hair out of her face and looked at him. Handsome, with unique coloring as if the gods had modeled him after the fox creature she had seen in the forest when she was growning up. She herself was colored after a type of bird she had also seen in her home forest. Her lips twitched, perhaps they weren't very different, though had still been rude to her at first.
She decided to humor him and leapt off her perch, circled behind him, leaning and curled around him, "So tell me, Vulperomes, what brings you to this place?" She asked, looking up at him from under her dark eyelashes, a playful smirk playing across her features.

"Taraneh." He said softly, trying the name out in his mouth, "Perfect. Though I do hope someday you will approve of me calling you by your preferred nickname." He gave her a small smile.
He didn't move as she obviously inspected him, but watched her out of the corners of his eyes as she moved around. Returning the playful smirk, he responded, "I was out for a walk. The nighttime is a refreshing time in a place such as the desert. I'm more used to forests myself. Might I inquire ever so casually as to your reason?"

Tara chuckled, ignoring the remark about her name, "I am looking for a place to rest with my sister." she replied, "We have been traveling for a while and as such, need to rest. This place seems like a good one." She shrugged slowly, "But we probably won't be staying here for long. We should keep moving." She let out a sigh, "But resting is paramount right now." She leapt back onto the little wall, muscles rippling and looked back at him over her shoulder, "You have been to a forest? Where do you come from?"

Vulperomes discreetly watched her, admiring her toned form as she jumped. This one apparently took good care of herself, something he liked in another female.
"May I ask where you were traveling to, little bird?" He asked, tossing in an affectionate nickname with a friendly smile. Taraneh reminded him of the first robin of spring, something he missed from his forest home.

Tara gave him a strange look, "Little bird?" But she brushed it away, it wasn't important, "We don't know." She replied, sauntering forward along the wall, "We just want to travel a bit then settle down." She shrugged, "There isn't a specific destination to where we are going." She let out a bubbly sigh, "I'm sure we could be persuaded to stay...somehow." She laughed softly and continued on, her small tail swishing with her step, a song once again bubbling to her lips,
"...Baby is this love for real? Let me in your arms to feel! The beating of your heart, baby The beating of your babay!"

He raised a brow at her strong hint but smiled a bit as well. He jumped onto the wall after her, silent but for the slight clip of his hooves on the stone. He walked after her, listening as she sang.
"Do you make up the words, little bird?" He asked, using the nickname again teasingly, noting she had resisted the name at first.

Tara stopped and turned to look back at him, "Why do you ask?" She questioned softly, eyes glinting in the light, a faint trace of a smile on her lips. She shrugged and continued moving, carefully keeping track of where the male was when he followed her, "Sometimes," she replied finally, leaping over a bit of coroded wall, "The song before my last one was one we used to sing at our festivals. The last one I made up." She tossed her flop of black hair out of her eyes, "Tell me, little Fox, why are you here?" The 'little bird' was beginning to irk her, might as well give him a taste of his own medicine.
