I was wondering, how do you guys practice? Arcade or at home, doesn't matter. (Like, easy songs and then finish up with a killer, somthing like that.)
I usually practice by being stupid, picking some a** kicking song and passing out on the floor once I'm done with it. (Insizzors stamina= 70 seconds) Obviously I need a new method xd

I play at the arcade all the time, I play three songs that I know I can beat, and finish with a goal song.

I usually start on a song that I want to beat, (right now that's Paranoia Eternal..) then I'd work my way down, with songs that I like, then maybe I'll hit another difficult song for a finish. Depends on my mood/how mentally 'off' I am. xp

Arcade: 1st song: HVAM, Max 300, or A [oni]. I like hardcore instrumentals. xD After that, I just play a bunch of 7's-9's, and any songs people have mentioned that I need to try out. Generally, I'll try to sweep the maxes each time I'm there. Furthest I've gotten was a B on Max 300 then about 20 seconds through MaxX Unlimited.
Home: PLAY LIKE FUGGIN' CRAAAAAZY! I just play whatever looks like fun. xp

Start with 8 and 9s, maybe a song that doesnt deserve a 10 rating, and end with a song I have yet to (or rarely) pass.

At the Arcade, my first two songs are usually something pretty easy. A general 8 footer. Then I end with something harder, like a 9. Arcade machines really tire me out, so I usually stick to easy stuff.
At home I usually do a set of about four or five 9 footers, then a break on Double (7-8 footers), then back to some tougher single stuff, etc etc. XD Till I'm about ready to pass out.

Shad0wlord Start with 8 and 9s, maybe a song that doesnt deserve a 10 rating, and end with a song I have yet to (or rarely) pass. same principal here. the first song i always start lighter as a warmup. ussually the walk to the arcade is a good warm up.

at home i just play random songs and work on my PA, but every trip i make to the arcade i dedicate all my money into AAAing at least 1 song. So once i get the AAA on that song, and if i have any money left, i'll just play random songs biggrin

the way i use stepmania, is to learn patterns and how to move.
in the early days, the only machine was a 3hour train trip away. so it wasnt something you'd go to in a spur. so practice my skills i used SM to learn how the steps on a song goes, the use my brain to base a virtual DDR machine and me playing to those songs. that way i managed to play alot of songs really quickly. so i was able to do 9ft rated songs pretty quick. i can do only a few 10ft rated songs, but thats because those songs are in a league of there own, its not like if you can do one 10ft, that you can automaticly do other 10ft with ease

Just work on hard songs or hard rythem/beats/steps or whatever that you're not used to, you'll learn faster that way
