Taji (formerly known as Thingy)'s name is a nonsense one to her culture, a a string of random letters. (Rhine banged his head into the keyboard and this is what resulted.) Ironically enough, this is an actual name in several other cultures -- most obviously Japanese, where it means "Yellow and silver." In Swahili, it means "Crown"; in Arabic, it means "Of or relating to the heart"; in Brazillian it means "To cry." Delnoir is her family name, derivative of the god Noir, Taji's 'grandfather'.

____{ Personality }
Taji is a very loud, persistant, affectionate, and undoubtedly annoying child. She has no concept of an 'indoor' voice -- whatever she says she wants everyone to hear. She has not yet made a habit of thinking before she speaks, and tends to blurt out whatever comes to mind, no matter how silly or nonsequitor.
She is inquisitive (almost to the point of making anyone want to drop-kick her off a building) and curious, always wanting the answers to things now NOW NOW. She is silly and impulsive and imaginative and often goes skittering off chasing after invisible mice in the middle of dinner. She is a magnet for trouble; though she doesn't quite go looking for it, she is nevertheless not adverse to doing things she has been explicitly told not to do, if only for the sake of doing them. She tries her best to be good, but her need for adventure is a constant itch that she is mostly helpless but to scratch.
She is currently being schooled in the ways of ettiquette, reading, writing, geography, Awarian culture, and science and arithmetic. She is surprisingly rather good at the latter (which may very well be the only strict rules she ever follows) but not so good with intangible ways of thinking, nor at speaking or thinking in a grammatically correct way in either of her two native languages. This does not stop her from writing and drawing her own stories.
She has her moments of peace and tranquility, though this is only when she is tired. She expends her energy in quick, violent bursts of activity, and in between has periods of rest; she has up to six naps a day.
She very much likes physically interacting with things (and people). She is constantly hitting, squeezing, biting, smelling, tasting, feeling, kicking, pounding, flattening, and inspecting pretty much anything she comes across, regardless of whether she has already done so or not.
She likes reading books with lots of pictures, drawing on things with crayons and markers, harassing either or both of her brothers, helping her mother in the garden or her father in his study, running around like a crazed cat, and being allowed outside. She does not actually care much for TV, except for a few select shows -- sitting still is not one of her strong points and watching television requires too much of it.
____{ Physical Attributes }
Her hair has been recently discovered to grow in two layers, divided horizontally somewhere at the back of her head. The lower layer is cut to just below her knees, and is a slick, oily and cosmic black that gradiates to a white-studded red and is streaked with gold. The top layer of her head is cut to her shoulders and is silver with rainbow highlights.
Her eyes can't seem to settle on a single color either; they're gold when they catch the light but are otherwise dark silver. They are also very big and shiny, fittingly so.
She has a big mouth -- both figuratively and literally (though this may be overexaggerated by the fact that she almost always seems to have it opened wide to make some kind of noise.)
She also, curiously enough, always has a 'halo' of stars and random debris slowly gravitating around her. This was nonexistant at her birth, and became more pronounced as she picked up more things. Her halo constantly requires grooming to remove dust bunnies, clumps of dirt, and anything else that one can take away without Taji noticing (that is: everything that isn't shiny.)
She also glows -- a soft, unobtrusive light that isn't noticeable until the sun goes down or the lights are turned off.
She is very heavy, and anyone who has not painstakingly developed upper body strength will probably have a hard time lifting her.

Taji is one of the stars of Eta Virginis in the constellation of Virgo, formally named Zaniah. In truth, the singly named star is actually a very close triple star system -- three stars gravitationally bound to each other. Two of the stars are only 0.5 AU (approximately 46.5 million miles) apart with a third slightly more distant star; Taji is this last star. Because the star system is ecliptic, it can be occulted by the moon and, even more rarely, other planets. Zaniah designates the southern wing of the constellation of Virgo.

It should be noted that Taji has a variety of names -- a few of which will afford any person with the knowledge of them various degrees of control over her.

Connor is Taji's absolute favorite person and best friend in the whole wide world (a title and affection that Taji finds very easy to bestow upon other people, but no matter -- Con is special.) They often play superheroes together and, well, being Taji and Con, get into loads of trouble along the way. Plus his father is awesome.

The ink spirit never fails to completely bewilder Taji. The two get along very well and have had quite a few adventures together, but the other girl's attitude -- easily set off, frightened, disturbed, and constantly fixing her hair -- is one that Taji does not easily understand. Very secretly she wishes she could be more like Ashe, well-composed (well, only when other people are looking) and elegant.

Meeting the quiet young rain spirit (and her much noisier and brother-stealing mother) at the library, Taji has taken pride in showing off all of her Big Girl tricks to Serra, who makes a very delightful audience. Her inability to keep up with Taji as others might forces the latter to be much calmer herself, an effect Taji's family seeks again desperately.

Though Elazu claims not to be a kitten, Taji is still not quite convinced -- he does have a little twirly tail after all. Still, the other boy was fun to play with -- obligingly going along with her and her many mistaken misconceptions (or at least not being annoyed at her for them) and very easily won her eternal affections with the gift of her very first planet for her orbit, one that she keeps constantly with her.

The kirin spirit is highly intriguing to Taji -- what with the horn growing out of her head and the frogs everywhere and being able to talk to animals. Secretly Taji thinks that she must be a Disney princess of some kind. They've not yet had the chance to get to know each other very well, but Taji hopes to see her again sometime so she can harass play with her frogs some more.

Great minds think alike! Taji found that she and Ziya had a lot in common -- a love for gold, stars, stories, and both possessing overactive imaginations. They shared and fetched a crown for a mudman named Bob who Taji imagines is still ruling the mudroom in the children's museum. She hopes to visit both him and Ziya again soon.

Though she seemed a little shy at first, Shayla proved to be a very able and active playmate. She is one of the prettiest (and a little odd-looking, which Taji thinks only adds to it) people Taji knows, with the ice hair and the gold locket and the little wings. Taji plans to harass as many people as she knows to discover the secret to keeping icey things icey forever so that she can have a Shayla planet.

Though Zee is actually around Taji's age, the star spirit nevertheless considers her as someone much older and wiser. She knows an awful lot of neat things, and has those purpley things floating around her besides. Taji plans on eating her vegetables so as to become as cool as Zee.
