"Why does she think she is..." Aion grumbled, pacing back and forth as the sun began to set in the distance. The grass under his paws had been torn and flattened from his pacing...which he had begun early this morn. Frowning into the ground, his mind misted in confusion as his god was not speaking to him anymore...he had no clue what he should do; Aion was on his own. He had not felt this way about anyone, when he was a child all of this had seemed an easier process...perhaps because he was not burdened with the process of pleasing his god and knew whom he was? Kicking up a rock, the male continued pacing as vigorously as the moment he started. "I'm crazy....she's crazy...its like a disease she's infected me with here.." And what about that kiss? What was he thinking? Now he couldn't think, he didn't know if his own thoughts were right or wrong, or how to even express them! Finally pausing in his pace, his heart ached dully...proof that it had begun beating again last night. Sighing defeatedly, Aion slowly began walking away from his spot and walked back to where Elu and he parted in the first place.

When you figure it out, i'll be waiting. Her voice echoed in his ears as he came upon that spot again, casting a glance around the area to see it was deserted. Dropping to his haunches, Aion began the process of waiting; for he would never call out for her like most would. Tilting his eyes up at the night sky, an amlost miniscule smile crept over his muzzle as he observed the stars in the sky.

Elu sauntered about the grounds, still in a delightful mood, though it had been slightly diminshed. She had finally met up with her sister, long after their agreed rendezvous time. Her sister had been understandably angry, and had lectured her on the importance of being on time, the Taraneh herself had no right to preach such a thing.

When Tara had finally allowed Elu to leave, on the sworn promise that she would reveal whatever had happened when they both returned from their search for food, Elu immediately set off to search for food...but mostly to check in on Aion, to only check that he was alright. Afterall...he was really conflicted about himself right now, and there wouldn't be any harm in checking up on him. With that thought she trotted toward that large temple, a smile playing across her lips.

She reached the bottom of the steps and trotted halfway up with before catching sight of a familiar black figure. He was far easier to detect in the sunlight then the darkness. She grinned and moved forward until she was only a few steps away from him, "Morning, Aion!" she laughed, flicking her dark brown tail once.

Perking his ears up as he could hear the distant clopping of hooves on stone, Aion didn't turn around however. Waiting untill he heard her familliar voice, his muzzle turned so he could glance at her and gave a soft nod. "'morn." Was all he simply stated, his wings giving a light ruffle before dissapearing back against his black pelt. Often of not many didn't even know Aion -had- wings untill they saw them move.

Turning his body sligtly as to not crane his neck just to look at her, a grin crossed his maw as his head tilted ever so lightly to the side. "What are you doing here? I don't remember you saying you would come find me..." He notioned, clearly remembering her line of he was to find her....not the other way around. Although inwardly, he was curious to why she had retuned to this spot...surely different than his own excuse.

Elu shrugged, "My sister sent me to look for food," she told him nonchalantly, "So I am." She looked at him sideways through her flop of hair, "Mostly." She sighed and settled down next to him, "But Tara can do things on her own and I have time."

She looked at him, smiling knowingly at his last remark, "I didn't say I wouldn't find you, I said you would have to find me when you figure it out." She grinned at him, "Have you found it out yet?" She grinned at him before looking around where they lay. It was a pleasant place, deep in the shade, though still revealing much of the courtyard around them. She smiled, it was nice and cool here, unlike the unwavering heat that true sunlight would shine on them. She looked back at Aion, dark brown eyes shining with pleasant emotions.

"Hmn..." Aion vocalized, nodding as he was left once again to try and figure out just what the hell he thought. Frowning lightly, he let his head fall to the side with a sigh....why was this so stupidly hard? Opening his mouth, words lacked to emit once again, as the dark Malu shook his head and stood. Digging his left paw into the ground as his right was just starting to heal, he turned away from her with a snort.

"Tell me...when you look up at the sky at night...What do you feel?" The question was rather random, yet he refused to turn and aknowledge her untill she had told him his one simple request .

Elu cocked her head at the sudden, out of the blue question and then she smiled faintly, "I feel...wonder, I guess you could call it. Awe at the thought of what could be up there and what it sees every day. I wonder what it would be like to be up there looking down on the world, and I wonder if my brother is up there looking down at me. I hope he isn't disappointed by what have done."

She glanced away, "It may sound childish but, I think of the sky like that and it's truely beautiful." She smiled at him, though he was turned away from her, "Why do you ask?" her eyes glittered as a ray of sunlight glinted over them and strands of dark hair, trailed down her face.

Glancing back for but a moment, the male sighed before turning his own head up to the sky. Perhaps his family was up there, as well as Nikalee....yet he knew they would not be proud of him like Elu's brother would be of her. "He would be proud." He said simply, before turning around to face her, yet kept his head at an angle as he found a rock on the gound very interesting off on his left side.

"I asked, because now you know what my answer is." This was all he would give her, never being one to confess such emotions openly...hell, he didn't even know the words to use. Aion knew he probably could never change fully who he had become, the roots too embedded in his mind and body to ever be fully put to rest. Yet, if he would alter enough to allow himself to be tolerable to at least one person...perhaps he wouldn't mind being a shell over a monster.

Elu looked at him and let a silent sigh fall from her lips, "Aion..." the next instant she was in front of him and on her back, her head under his and making sure she had direct eye contact, "You're thinking monster thoughts again." She told him solemnly then suddenly laughed, "Well, not monster thoughts, but you're certainly acting depressed. What happened to the maliciously evil yet strangely nice Malu that've I've come to know and love in the last meeting?" She asked playfully, eyes sparkling with amusement, "And honestly, Aion, there's nothing wrong with you! You are yourself and no one else, you just aren't sure who you are anymore." She smiled up at him gently, "So tell me Aion, tell me something about you. Not the monster that you thought you were, but you."

Pulling his head back a bit as he blinked, Elu was such a random Malu that he really didn't know what to expect half of the time. Shaking his head, he gave her a glare and huffed, "Don't I ever get a break once and a while?" He tilted his head slightly on her last request...something about him? "God...I don't know! I...Hmm." A smrik crossed his lips as he gazed down at her, mischeif in his eyes. "Other than finding you annoying....I, guess I enjoy the night sky? Happy?" Leanding down, he paused on mere inches away from her face as he then questioned her with, "Well...tell me something about you then."

Elu chuckled, "Breaks? No, not when I'm around you." She winked up at him, and then caught the part of his sentence about her being annoying. Her ears drooped and her eyes became watery, "I'm...I'm annoying?" she sniffed at him then abruptly rolled over and grinned at him, "I'm not offended, Aion." She laughed lightly, "Hmm...something about me..." She sat up and looked at him solemnly, "Well, I like you. I like you, even if you think you're a monster." She smiled and then glanced away, a bit afraid that she had said too much.

Honestly, what had come over her? She had never acted this open toward someone else before, let alone express feelings so suddenly. She had always been the quiet one, watching her sister act how she was doing now. It was strange, but Aion seemed to bring out a more bold her. All of this was confusing, with all of the thoughts and emotions swirling around herself and Aion. To tell the truth she was a bit scared, but she didn't want to stop, not for the world, that that was what scared her the most.

"Wait...what?" Aion blinked, spotting her eyes had gained a glossy look before turned...but then grinned like a fool she was. Heaving a sigh as an empty annoyed look crossed his features, he looked down at her laughing. "I must be cursed, then." He retorted, when all of a sudden, she had gotten serious which kinda weirded Aion out slightly. However, he was not in no means at all ready for what he heard next.

Staring at her as if he waited for her to suddenly break out in laugher like before....it clicked that this wasn't any kind of joke. Luckily for him, his dark fur almost hid any blush which would creep along his cheeks making it barely noticable. About to speak, he stopped, as his whole body became rigid and serious as he stood. Slowly moving foreward, he pressed his head into her should and pushed continually with quite a bit of force. "Get out of here....now." His dark tone return once again to his smooth vocals.

Elu scrambled to get a hold to the smooth stone as she was pushed away from where they had been, "Wha?! What are you doing?" Her eyes widened as she heard him tell her to get out, and inexplicably, for some unknown reason, this really hurt her. She didn't understand why it hurt so much when her told her to get out, but it made her heart ache and...it made her angry. "How about...no?" She retorted, planted all four of her feet down on the ground and pushing back until he himself was the one being pushed, "What's wrong with telling you how I feel? What's wrong with doing that?" She growled, pushing him back toward their original spot, "What's wrong with having a hope the maybe just maybe you would say something similar, huh?"

With a final jerk of her head she pushed him away one last time until they were a foot apart, "What's wrong with you, Aion? What's with this reaction? Can you not handle it or something? Then tell me! Tell me so I can understand!" She jerked her head to the side, her dark brown har hiding, eyes that now truly glistened with tears, "I don't know you well, Aion. I don't, and I admit that. But I also admit that's there is something there!"

She looked at him again, her expression fierce though her eyes were still filled with tears, "And if you don't want anything to come of it, just tell me. Tell me, and I won't ever speak of it again." She set her jaw and turned away slightly, "Just tell me first, Aion. Before anything more happens." She began to walk away, her head held high, though her heart was heavy with a despair she shouldn't have felt so deeply.

Growling lightly, Aion closed his eyes as he couldn't bare to look at her as he tried his hardest to push her back towards the temple. Even as she had began to push back, this cause the male to push even harder against her. "You don't understand, Just get going!" He hissed, when she pushed him back a foot, and no longer could he avoid her hair filled eyes. It caused his heart to skip a beat, the same pain he had felt when Nikalee left him resurfacing twice as hard. Trying hard not to listen to her words, he felt himself straying from what was important, to each pained word which escaped her lips.

So many times he wanted to speak...to deny everything she had said and just tell her the right answer. Yet he couldn't, not now. Making his face look as uncaring as he could, he hoped she would run away....yet she slowly turned and strode. Not good enough. "You're an Idiot! Run, and don't you dare look back!" Aion all but barked at her, raising his paw up to his maw as he bit down - hard. Reopening the wounds from last night, he cringed, turning around and making a sound he never thought he would hear out of his own lips. Crying out like an ingured and wounded animal, the black malu set off in a run towards the desert, and not even a few seconds later, a deep growl echoed as a large black cat lept from its hiding spot in the nearby trees to give chase to the more exciting prey.

Elu froze as his words echoed throughout the halls, and she whirled, eyes ablaze, "I'm the idiot?!" she shouted, "What..." Her eyes widened as she watched the black male run away from her and toward the desert and widened in further in horror as she watched the predator follow after him. Without a thought she leapt after them.

In the back of her mind, a tiny voice chuckled in the back of her mind, Will every day be like this if I stay near him? But she didn't have time to dwell on such thoughts, she was too busy chasing after someone she hardly knew, but couldn't leave alone.

Her stride lengthened as she ran after them and she pounded hard against the soft hot sand. She had to warn Aion somehow! But how was she to do that without drawing the attention of that creature? She'd have to figure out someway to help him.

God...I should have picked a better time of day to gain a bloody consious... Aion thought bitterly as he ran as fast as his legs could carry him through the forest and then across the hot sands of the desert. Cringing as the sand began to stick to his bleeding paw, he cast a glance over his shoulder to see the jaguar gaining his tail fast. At least he wasn't the only one with the heat absorbing black pelt. Feeling the muscles ripple under his coat as he charged up one of the sand dunes. As soon as he reached the top, the dark Malu swiftly turned and accelerated even faster on the decline towards the predator, his eyes shifting to the malicious and bloodthirsty state as his head dropped.

As the jaguar lept at the charging malu, he sucseeded in embedding his claws into his shoulderblades yet was not expecting the charge to be followed through. As Aion's head collided with the large feline's chest, his motion sent the two soaring down the dune, with Aion landing atop of the large cat as it slid down on its back. Biting his lip as the claws remained hooked in his flesh, Aion snarled and used his own tiny claws to swipe at the cat's eye, earning a bellow as it removed its paws and pushed Aion away from it. Lucky for him, once his body hit the sand, it didn't drag very far due to his lack of weight. The jaguar wasn't so lucky as his weight kept his sliding trip going, heading down to the very bottom of the dune. Turning his muzzle down to watch the predator slide to the bottom, breathing heavily as he slowly got up despite the throbbing in his paw and now his shoulders.
