As people exited the ballroom the next morning, it had begun to sink in that a killer, or killers, were on the loose. The partygoers spread out across the building to the various elevators and floors. Some immediately began to form alliances and search for clues as to the identity of the Sniper, others collapsed into their beds and waited for everything to end, and at least one attempted to form a bulletproof vest out of couch cushions, claiming "I wish I was bulletproof."

Shoy and Hirun stepped off the glass elevator, arguing over who would get the bed next to the window. Only Newzpop Reporta Tyro Bong was left as the doors closed. The elevator rose to the top floor, leaving Tyro in an empty hallway. At the desk downstairs, he had been told that due to an arrangement issue, he’d gotten an upgrade to the highest-quality room. This did not comfort him any, and as far as he could tell, he was the only one up here. Dragging a small bag on wheels behind him, Tyro grabbed a keycard out of his pocket, slipping it into the slot and quickly entering his room.

“Finally. I’m safe.” Tryo muttered to himself, then fell backwards onto his bed, staring at the ceiling, or specifically, at an airduct. Something seemed to be moving. It was probably just a rat.

Nothing to worry about, right?

Merumiharu had learned something that she’d nearly forgotten. The jailhouse was awfully close to the hotel. In a way, this was strangely convenient, although not for her.

At the moment, she was being carried out the back of the hotel, through an employee exit, by a figure dressed in a black cloak. Apparently this was not hotel security. She had decided that this was not a very pleasant situation, and was making every attempt to alert someone to it. The figure picked up speed, eventually breaking out into a run, but stopped in front of the jailhouse. It then entered and threw Meru to the ground, tying her up inside a cell. After a few moments of digging through pockets, the figure found a key and secured the lock. It then withdrew a small bottle of fluid and a match.

Meru didn’t believe in karma, but she wondered if this was happening because she snuck into the breakfast area early. The last things she saw were a vivid flame, followed by a flash of bright light. Somewhere amongst all this, a voice muttered, “See you later.”

“WE FOUND THE SNIPER, AND IT’S HIRUN!” a crowd of people screamed, as the collective population of the hotel ran down the hill to the jailhouse, tossing Hirun about between them. He’d been restrained rather messily by ropes they had found in the closet. Finally, they’d get to use the jail again.

Sadly, by the time they had gotten there, it was already up in flames, and Meru’s body was already in ashes inside.

“…What do we do now?” Guccigirl247 asked.

“Well, the ballroom had one entry and a pretty big door with a lock…” came a musing from Roy.

The mass of people ran back up the hill to the hotel and threw Hirun into the ballroom. He stared up at the cow, which still lay on the ground awkwardly. It mooed.

At least he had company.
