Brayden lay his head down in his paws, watching the empty temple doorway that stood yawning not five feet from him. He knew it lead to the winding depths of the temple's lower levels, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to venture somewhere so mysterious just yet. He'd only arrived at the temple yesterday, traveling south from the foot of the moutain ranges of the Northern coasts. The crossing of the desert had left him sore and exhausted, left without rain though he prayed to his God nightly that he would make it to the temple before his tongue dried up in his muzzle. The serenity of the temple seemed to obscue that memory as he was surrounded by fresh greenery and others like him. He'd left his small traveling pack, tired of coming and going from the temple so that he knew no one save cousins and kin. He longed to branch out, to meet others, to settle down.

So now the male was left here, staring at a dark, gaping hole in the wall as his vision blurred and his thoughts turned to other things. To the young niece and nephew he had left without saying goodbye to - watching from a distance as the twins romped and tumbled over the green plains beneath the highest peak, where all fresh rain floods down to. The fertile plains were marvelous for raising what family you had, but if you had none of you own, it was rather lonely. It was seldom they picked up females from other packs, and the pang of rejection after one rare meeting that caused him to spurn the valley and return to the temple he was born in. But here he realised he knew no one, and so rested after his journey alone.

The malu's ears twitched idly as his head rose to cast a curious glance around him, searching for a bit of shade. Pulling himself to his feet, he stretched gracefully and rubbed his antlers against a tree trunk with a gentle strength. It was more to scratch an itch in his bones than to mark the tree and he gave the bark a gentle, apologetic nudge with his nose before settling once again beneath it's cool shade. He could hear the clatter of hooves and laughter of children a faint distance away, drawing a soft smile to his face. Yes, things would look up now.

First his first day at the Temple, it had been quite eventful. He had quickly realised that there was a much greater variety of Malu here, and all of them followed different gods or goddess. He had come from a small pack, where there were really only three gods followed. Not only that, the coat colors here were hues he had never seen on a Malu before. It was overwhelming, really, the culture shock he was going through. The enviroment was different from his beachy birthplace, and the overall feel of the place was much more...buzzing? Diverse? He couldn't exactly come up with the right word to use. Whatever it was, it was something quite unique to the Temple, and mentally stimulating.

Tamin had opted to bring the day down with relaxing, padding around the Temple to find a place where he could lay. Respectfully, of course; he didn't want to plop down in front of a shrine. That would be just plain rude, and rude was something the Malu didn't do very well. He came round the outside of the ancient structure, and, not paying much attention to where he was headed, nearly collided with another male. He stopped himself short, just before their bodies clashed, and backed up quickly. "'Scuse me, there. I'm sorry." As he regained his posture, he realised just how exauhsted the other looked. He seemed, peaceful, yes, but almost beyond tired. "Uh.. If you don't mind me asking.. Are you okay?"

there have been a dramatic increase of Malu around the shrine, something that didn’t only take Odyss to notice. He was sure that everyone could tell. Most where happy to have them come. Odyss himself found it more interesting to have new faces, he was starting to dread seeing the same thing over and over again, having completely mapped out the temple in his head, everything was so dull.

Odyss had been wandering around familiar ground when he had seen a blue Malu, one he had never seem before laying under a tree. He had settled himself down, watching this new Malu, wondering if he had different behaviors then temple Malu, different way or talking, or perhaps they had little differences in there looks.
When a second Adult Malu walked over and nearly run into him. Odyss shifted his creamy brown gaze to the other Malu, now this one did look very different from what he had seem before. He seemed more smooth and rubbery then furry.

What had his mother told him? Not to push so hard? That last leg across the barren land would be the hardest, he should have rested before he began the dangerous last portion of the journey. He was exhausted now, beyond tired as had been described, but he survived. His eyes were cloudy with weariness, but when he nearly collided with the other Malu, he jolted backwards and ran his rump into the tree he had just touseled with his antlers. He knew the temple and it's surrounding area was alive and breathing, but he had not expected to have a singular encounter with another so soon.

"My fault, brother, I apologise." At the following question, he smiled genuinely and shook his head, "I am well; tired, but well. I've just ended my journey late yesterday evening." Shaking his head, his hing legs folded and he sat with what elegance he could manage and motioning that his new accquaintance might as well. "I am Brayden."

Kamin watched the other with slight concern, wondering if he would pass out or if he'd handle it on his own. He wasn't quite sure what he would do if the other truely did faint from exaushstion; with no name and no pack details, he wouldn't know where to bring his company. Praying silently for the better of the two possible outcomes, the sleek male sat beside Brayden thankfully. Though he wasn't nearly as tired physically, he was ready for a nap for his mind, which had been reeling since he had entered the oaisis. "Not your fault, stranger. I wasn't looking where was I was going. Let's just say we both played a part." Compromising was much eaiser than arguing who was at fault for the near crash; and it was most probablly true they had both at least contributed to the event.

"Nice to meet you, Brayden. I am Kamin, and I am new here as well. I arrived this morning, though I lack your exauhstion. I suspect my journey wasn't as long as yours, and I didn't make it all in one day." The Malu nodded to himself, reasoning everything out loud. It wasn't really normal for him to be so open with a creature he wasn't close to, but then again, this had been an out of the ordinary day. "Where is your homeland?" He didn't mean to be nosy, really. It was more of curiosity. Today, he had met only native Malu, and to come across a new comer such as himself was refreshing.

Loki was coming back from the desert, where exactly he had been that was out in the desert was unknown.
He had only made a small trip there and back to make sure his secret entrance was still there. It wouldn't be right for another to take the back and find his shrine. His shrine was now, infact, the very same place he had found his lovely little Achlys.
Back in the times when he was young, and even when he was wandering in the darkness for days on end wondering when his body would finally give out on him, even though he never thought he'd get a child. Nor so soon as she came.
They had both found their way to the top rather quickly, considering his lovely new daughter, of sorts, almost seemed to know her way down there like she had lived there her whole life.
But it was still difficult, as she was still young, she would sleep on his back all day...Or night.
And even when he found his way to the surface once more, there was a nasty storm outside and even then he couldn't tell day from night.

But that had all past him now, and upon his rejuvination he took in the fact that the temples and surrounding desert were absolutely filled with new malu his eyes had never seen before. He often wondered where his calous sister made her domain, if it had changed and how she faired. But, to be honest, he really didn't care enough to go find out.

He saw, near a tree, when he had come to the large grassy area before the temples, two malu laying next to one another chatting. They seemed nice, and he wanted something to do. Maybe, just maybe, if he was lucky, one of them would be conniving enough to join him and his god. DOubtful, but worth a try.

He slinked towards the pair easily enough, his step light and graceful. He had cleaned himself thoroughly and so he was clean and ready once again to wreck havoc on the above world.
"....Hello." He said calmly. The words were kind and soothing but there was an underlying message of falsehoods beneath it aswell. But very subtle.

Odyss became more interested as the two Malu started talking about Journeys, he had never been to far from the Temple, he listened in carefully to hear anything about the outside world. he then noticed another older Malu approaching the two under the tree... this Malu he knew. Mostly from what Amadeus told him. Odyss blinked and watched them for a moment. Not really wanting the topic to change from traveling. he stopped out. Walking over toward the Adults a little more, and sat down looking at all three of them.
his expression had a half lit look to it. Eyes half closed, but always observing. His ears drooped almost lazily to the side, all in all, not looking like a very intelegent youngster
He just sat, not saying anything at first

The sudden abundance of malu around him caused his muscles to tingle and he straightened slightly, the cloudy haze clearing from his eyes. He had not had companionship for what felt like years, though he had pressed on for only a matter of days. He nodded to the child who had no yet spoken, though Brayden afforded the youngster a smile to let him know he was welcome to join them. The dark adult caught his attention and he turned toward him with a solemn, inviting nod.

Turning back towards Kamin, he dipped his head, "Pleasure to meet you, Kamin." He looked towards the north at the other male's question, a smile broadening his features at the thought of home. "My family travels between this Temple and the far Northern coasts, this is the first I've been here since the first summer after my birth. And what of you all?"

Kamin eyed the black male with a slight uneasiness. He wasn't sure what had set him off so easily, perhaps only his shy nature, but whatever it was, he knew he didn't like it. 'Don't be rude, now,' he chastized himself mentally for feeling the urge to scoot away fromt he newcomer. Instead, he gave a curt nod to the other, allowing him entrance in to the conversation, but not formally inviting him. His attention was greatfully turned to a little brown male coming up to the three, and Kamin smiled down with slight releif. He had yet to see a young one since leaving his home pack, and the idea of no children was a bit hard to wrap his mind around.

"I am from the southeast, the beaches to be exact. My birthpack does not travel at all; in fact, we only leave the beach once a year to go on a fruit collection. It was a peaceful exsitence, and I very much enjoyed it. The Temple is a bustling metropolis in comparison." Kamin smirked a little, remembering fondly his younger days, spent watching the tide or fishing. Never had he met so many new Malu before today. In his homeland, the only new Malu were babies, and they didn't come around very frequently.

The malu nodded, a small smile breaking his solemn expression, "Aye, their are a good many of us here, but it is refreshing." His ears perked at the mention of the ocean and his smile broadened, raising his head to look at Kamin more closely. He tilted his head to one side, "So who do you follow, if you don't mind my asking? I would guess the beaches, but your coat suggests otherwise." His expression took on some bit of nostalgia as he glanced towards the north once again before looking back. "I have seen the sea when our travels took us over the mountains to follow the rain clouds, it is a magnificent creation."

His eyes traveled towards the silent dark male and the equally silent youngster, but it was the older malu who gave him pause. Brayden wasn't sure what exactly made him so cautious, but he smiled graciously nevertheless and shifted his weight from one paw to the other.

Kamin was growing fond of his new talking companion, enjoying his gentlemenly ways and conversational behavior. Unlike some Kamin had talked to, Brayden seemed to be less biased with his words and more understanding of others, both traits Kamin looked for in his company. He listened, nodding and smiling. "I do not mind at all! I follow the god of oceans, and yes, the seas are quite beautiful. Though the seas and oceans have different gods, I would say that they share many characteristics, and that both are equally as breathtaking. As a pup, I spent almost all my time in the saltwater." He looked away for a moment, his eyes in a far off place in a memory. When his gaze returned to the present day, he nodded again. "May I ask who you follow?"

Loki listened patiently, taking careful note of what everyone was saying, or rather, not saying.
He made sure that nothing escaped his watchful eye so that it could not hurt him later.
"Born and raised in the temples." He said calmly, not inquiring much further than that.
He continued to listen, making sure to remember that these two malu rather enjoyed the water and the ocean.
He had never heard of either of these places, but it didn't matter. He already knew his god would inform him to such things.
He glanced at the small child next to him, wondering how firm the young one was with his beliefs. He also wondered how easily such a young child could be swayed.
He knew many a small young malu were confused on what they believed in and with enough persuasion in the right places, would make fine followers indeed.
As for the other two malu... Well, they already clearly had their own gods and beliefs and he knew as well as any that once a malu has made their mind up it is unwilling to switch. So, these two would be unwilling and most likely unknowing pawns. At best.
Caring for Achlys was still his main concern at the moment, as the child, though brilliantly evil in his opinion, still needed much care. Though, once she is old enough he would collaborate with her on a project of some kind. Something bigger, grander and more devastating than anything he had come up with. It would have to be sneaky, conniving, and leaving some-one else to take all the blame without any one else having any doubts.
He knew it would be something that would make his god infinitely proud.

The Topic was slowly changing from traveling, to worship, not the topic he favored, but he was interested nonetheless.
Perhaps he could ask them for traveling stories later.
He blinked in response to the silent greeting he received. And was aware for a moment as the dark one, Loki looked over at him, Though Odyss did not look back, or acknowledge that he knew Loki had glanced at him.
Still he remained silent. Watching, and listening.

Kamin's gaze fell back to Loki as he spoke, a quick response that was neither rude nor polite. It was somewhere in the middle, and was obviously not asking for more conversation from anyone. This the male could relate to, however. Today he was being unusually open, most probablly because he was so out of his element. When he grew used to the rhythm of life around the temple, he'd end up reverting back to his shy ways and not giving much to conversations with strangers like he was now. That's where the simularities stopped, Kamin could guess. The grey being had a sort of... mischevious feel about him, and the affects Kamin was getting from him weren't very lovely ones. "You must be proud. The temple must've been a nice place to grow up in."

Loki cocked his head to the side for a moment before speaking.
"Not necassarily. Entertaining at best. Never helps with an uncaring sibling whom can be especially cruel." There a light air to his dark remark as he remembers very fondly of how he delt with most encounters with his sister.
Most ending up in situations where Calope was using all her restraint as possible to not smack him and severly harm him.
He supposed, that if she was not the Rival pack leader he would have been beat to a bloody pulp into which nothing would be left but modesty and all the deviliry in him spilt onto the floor never to be cleaned up.
But that was not the case and so he lived and prospered to wreck more havoc in the coming day.
He felt a bit rusty on his skills of interpretation and interaction considering he spent much of his recent time in solitude with nothing but a small devious child to talk with. One who mostly slept.
