Pae'il HQ

This HQ was erected by the last generation of Pae'il before the birth of the new Pae'il. It has a magical enchantment placed on it, and it seems to grow larger and larger within without changing shape outside. It also has a habit of developing rooms upon the need for them, which can be quite useful. It is the home and work center of the current caretaker, and can also house Pae'il or their caretakers for any period of time they chose.

This building acts as a 'catch all' for all newcomers and oldbies alike. The kitchen is always stocked, the library always open! Anyone and everyone is welcomed here!

Kethara lays on the bed in one of the many rooms in the building. She was looking at her mountain from the windoe. Her mind was spinning to the point she just didn't want to deal anymore. Part of her was telling her to go back to the mountain and just never come back down to the isle ever again.

The other half told her she was being foolish, that she should just march up to Vale and tell him she liked Luc and there was no way he was going to stop her from seeing Luc. Groaning she hides her face in the pillow kicking her feet alittle before she sighs looking back out the window.

If only I hadn't decided to come down from the mountain that day...I would have never saw him then....

Lucius was... for the most part, happy that the majority of his skin was still intact. His father had done a good job of verbally flaying EVERY inch of his hide till he'd felt completely raw. Stupid and raw, mostly stupid... well... foolish... dumb... Lucius had spent the time his father had told him to think about his course of action back in his books, searching for an answer to what he SHOULD do... Not what his father wanted him to do.

Realizing his personal librarary didn't hold the things he needed, he had headed down to the HQ to find what he needed, after asking his father if it was okay for him to go, and swearing that he wouldn't talk to Kethara if he happened to bump into her on the way there, on the way back, or while he was there at all. It was not a promise he intended to keep if he could help it, as his father wouldn't know unless he had some sort of spy, and Lucius doubted that extremely, after all, his father was nomrally a moral and upstanding indvidual, it was moments like this, when his children came into the picutre that the man changed and became an overprotective lion.

Regardless, Lucius was locked in battle with several books, trying his hardest to dredge up whatever insight he could get from the tomes, but not finding anything that really spoke to him as sound advice. Part of him wanted to tell his father to go shove it. A new rebelious side at that, one that wanted to break free from his formal shell and explore the world and learn things first hand. But then, his shy, nervous side would always retort with the perfectcally sound arguement:

Your father could kick your a** from here to Falassion and back again, don't mess with him.

Sighing Lucius put down the book he had currently been working on, letting the book lay there open in front of him as he rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands, letting out a long, prolonged groan. Right now his life was seven kinds of suck, and it had all started the day he'd gone and explored the beach and found those stupid eggs.

He didn't regret meeting Kethara, he honestly did like her, but he did wish that the circumstances had been different, and that his father could understand that Lucius was not looking for an extremely passionate relationship yet. What he waned right now was a firend, someone he could be close to and talk to, and maybe share some physical contact with.

Yet, all signs pointed to that, if he kept down that road of actions, he was bound to end up with his a** in a sling, and him sitting very uncomfrotably for the next few weeks, as he delt with the wrath of his father. He was begining to wonder if in some small way, this was Vale acting out against the youth he'd never had. For his father had expressed that he'd never been a teen, so maybe he really didn't realize what it was like to go through this stage of life.

Sighing again, and deeper this time, Lucius let his eyes drift up to the roof. "Guardians, if you're there, if you can here me, and if you happen to answer prayers, I have a request... could you give me just a little flash of insight into what I should do? I'm at a loss and I really could use the advice right now..." He sat for a time waiting to see if anything happened, and after a time finally got bored and stood, grumbling about how stupid he was acting.

That's when he tripped over the book he'd forgotten he'd placed by the wayside, and fell flat on his face, grumbing as he sat up and rubbed his nose, Lucius' eyes fell on a particular book.

"Heh..." he chuckled as he read the title several times just to make sure what he was reading was really what the book was called. "Idiot's guide to making friends... haha..." He said standing, shaking his head slowly. "Guess that's a good a sign as any..." He sighed. "Now I just have to figure out how to keep a friend without my father flaying me alive..."

That was still a mystery to him.

Deciding that it was time to head back to the mountain Kethara crawls out of the bed sighing. Pushing her hand through her hair as best as she could so it didn't so messy she leaves the room climbing down the stair. She was humming the Hymn of Fae as it seem to always calm her down when she needed it the most.

Pausing at the foot of the stairs she turns towards the Library shaking her head. She might as well pick up some books to read while she was at home, afterall she had a feeling she wouldn't be returning to the isle for awhile.

Pushing the door open she stops in her tracks as her eyes fall upon Lucius. She should have known he would be here, he did say he would come to the headquarters when he could. Biting her bottom lip she shook her head "I...um...I should go.." she takes a few steps back her hand reaching behind her to find the door.

Lucius found himself blinking as Kethara spoke after pretty much showing up out of nowhere, as he'd been so wrapped up in this thoughts. "Uh... Wait?" His voice hadn't caught up with his mind yet, so it sounded like he questioning whether or not she wanted to wait, rather than asking her to.

This just made his life a little more complicated.

Kethara looks up at him confused, part of her wanted to just stay right there with him. But then she also knew it wasn't such a good idea. Looking down she shakes her head "I should let you get back to your reading, just pretend I wasn't here alright." she took another step backwards trying to find the door.

She was mentally kicking her for being a coward as well as not staying. Looking back up at him she gives him a rather weak smile as she finds the door handle "Its for the best anyways, you and I both know this."

Yea right Ara, who are you kidding?

This was staring to irritate Lucius. A wave of anger washed over him and his face twisted a little. "Oh okay, I see how it is!" He crossed his arms and looked away from her. "You say you want to be my friend but the mintue something difficult pops up you run away like a coward... like ME!"

He turned and walked over to the desk and pushed the chair out of the way, picking up a book and flinging it down to the floor. "Well fine! If you're going to be that way then leave, wuss out on me like I would... go ahead... prove me right that I was wrong!" He looked up at her. "Prove my dad right that I'm an idiot for making friends with a girl... go ahead!"

He was shocked at his own words, but everything his father had done with him over the past few days had created an intesne bitterness for the man, and anger, and it was coming out now... but directed at Kethara.

Kethara jaw drop slightly as she stares at Lucuis in shock. She didn't know what to say at all. She wasn't expecting all this anger from him at all, she was use to the smiles and the shyness. This was a new thing, something she was slightly scared about.

Letting her hand fall away from the door knob she looks down hiding her face with her hair as she shook her head "I thought I was doing the right thing Luc. I don't want to run away from you. Not ever, I want to be your friend." looking up she bites her bottom lip then looks away again "I'm sorry I'm acting like a coward in your eyes. I just don't know what to do. I don't have the answers for this thing between us." pausing she shakes her head "And that scares me alright.."

Unfortunatly for Kethara, it seems that Lucius had inherited his father's temper... That is, quick to start, and LONG to run... Lucius had not been angry before today, not... This level of angry. He was frustrated, confused, scared, and a lot of other emotions that he DID NOT know how to cope with.

"You don't think I'm scared either!?" Lucius was nearly shouting, his hands waving in front of him as he continued to rant. The anger had to get out somehow, and unfortunatly for Kethara... She was stuck as the target.

"I don't have any answers either! But you don't see me giving up and coping out! I'd like to try and figure this out you know! I like and respect you, but I'm starting to get the feeling that it's not mutual!" Again the arms came to cross his chest and his eyes leveled on Kethara. "To be PERFECTLY candid I'm scared out of my mind, but you don't see me running away from you!"

He let himself fall into the chair and started to stew.

Kethara winces closing her eyes, she knew she had this coming. After all you don't tell someone your there friend then run away from them. Swallowing her pride she pushes away from the door walking over to him.

Standing a few inches away from him she keeps her hands behind her back "I do respect you Luc, and you know I like you. Its why I'm still here, if I didn't care I would have just left." breathing in slowly she looks up at the ceiling "I'm truely sorry, I know I should helping you through this. I was wrong to run away, but I'm not anymore. I'm right here and I'm here to stay okay." her wings flutter behind her nervously.

For the first time she was scared she had messed up so badly she wouldn't be able to fix this.

Lucius was quiet... very quiet... He refused to even look at Kethara for a few minutes. He was still angry, and he was still upset, and he was still feeling extremely stupid and vulnderable and he just wanted all of these feelings to go the hell away.

Unfortunately they wouldn't, at least, not on their own accord, and as he sat there stewing, he knew he must be twisitng the knife more and more into Kethara, and he knew he shouldn't do that. Friends do not hurt their friends no matter how angry they are at them. So finally, after what seemed like an enternity, he let out a long low sigh.

"Look..." He started, trying to let his mind make up it's mind as he chose his words. "I'm sorry too... I blew up at you and I shouldn't have, it's not you I'm angry at..." He sighs. "Well... to be totally honest, you're not the ONLY person I was mad at, you were kind of taking the hit for two, and for that I'm sorry..."

Turning his head slowly to look up at her he smiled weakly. "Look, I know this is tough, I know that this sucks, and I know that you want more than I can give you right now. So I would completely understand if you'd rather just write the whole thing off and go your own way and find another person with less issues, bagage, and crazy family to deal with." He sighed and slowly stood.

"I apologize too, if anything I said hurt you, I was just... angry..." He ran a hand up and down the back of his head sighing a little. it was rough, he wasn't used to dealing with people after you'd bitten their heads off, so he was trying to figure this out as he went. "I mean, that's no excuse for some of the things I said... but... It's the only thing I can say, you know?"

Kethara shakes her head before stepping towards him to wrap her arms around him hugging him close. Shaking her head she looks up at him smiles "I'm not writing you off Luc, I refuse to do that." taking a step back she blushes "Were both having to learn things in this. I'm having to learn to take things slow. Learn patience as its not my strong point as you can tell." laughing alittle she push her hand through her hair before leaving it there.

"Your stuck with me until the day you tell me to get lost. I just hope you can handle me trying to learn as you learn in this strange relationship we have going." letting her hand fall down to her side she took another step back. It wasn't because she was running, she was giving him his space.

Lucius chuckled. "I could think of worst people to be stuck with..." He bowed his head, and said nothing about the hug. Might as well not push the subject any further, and he didn't mind them anymore.

"Yes, we both need to learn things, and I think we've taken a good first step tonight." He smiled and sighed. "Who knows, time is a very strange beast..."

Nodding Kethara looks back down at the ground "I didn't expect to see you in here to tell you the truth. I figure this place would be empty. I was coming to grab a book before I had back to the mountain." glancing back up she bites her bottom lip "How much trouble did you get in for my kiss?" she felt bad as sadly now wish she hadn't done it.

Although she thought she wouldn't ever see him again, now that he was standing in front of her she wanted to just turn back time. Long enough to stop that kiss, she knew everything would be okay if she just stop that one little thing.

Lucius laughed. "Oh... Stern talking to... long lecutures... Sent to my room for a looong time..." He shook his head slowly. "My father said, and I qoute: 'You're an idiot if you think that you can only maintain friendship with a girl, you're only looking to get your heart broken,' isn't he just lovely!"

Sighing he rubbed his temples. "I actually came here to see if I could get advice for the situation here... seeing as my books at home were of no help... Though I technically shouldn't be talking to you because I promised dad I wouldn't... but meh, he won't know..."
