Makino Tsukushi is a working-class girl, who attends an elite elevator school called Eitoku Academy, populated by children from rich, high-society families. She is the "weed" of the school surrounded by all the rich kids including the "Flower" Four (F4). The F4 leader and son of the wealthiest, most powerful family in Japan, Dōmyōji Tsukasa, he takes an interest in Tsukushi, because she is the only girl at Eitoku who doesn't fawn over him. However, his hot-headed nature and bullying ways are originally a major turn-off for Tsukushi, who has her sights set on someone else. Hanazawa Rui, Tsukasa's best friend, becomes Tsukushi's first serious love interest. He is a quiet and cold guy, but he has a soft spot for his close friend and Tsukushi's idol, the model Todou Shizuka, whom he harbored feelings for since childhood. His character is a bit complex, and always has changing feelings for Tsukushi, but above all cares about her in a friendly way. The other two members of the F4 are Akira Mimasaka, the laidback peace-maker of the group, and Sojiro Nishikado, an unrepentant playboy. They both usually have at least one girlfriend at any one time; Akira prefers older women because the women of his household (his mother and two younger sisters) are quite silly. Sojiro is happy to be in casual relationships with many women, although we later discover that at one time he was in love with a childhood friend.

I kinda thought we needed one. oh i do too...i was talking to janelle yesterday i think it was and i was like hehe next friday we totally have to watch more hanadan and she was like yeah i looked it up on the internet the otherday and there is a second season..and i just giggled and was like yeah i know we're excited about it and i was like i dunno if its a remake or not and she was like no i think its new cuz i was reading something about it and then me being the dork that i am looked it up on wikipedia ( hanadan) there is lots of stuff talked about that wasn't put in the first season so i'm thinking its new...or really more or less crossing my fingers and hoping its more new stuff hehehe

hehehe the manga (and anime i think) is out in stores this live action isn't i don't think it is i dunno though

the manga and anime are available in stores in the us. nicely translated for us. but there's liek 30 some volumes of the manga >,< and i think like 51 eps. so it's a long series. also, its under the name boys over flowers not hana yori dango.
