Address to Students:
Greetings to Shinkami!
We of the Administration extend a warm welcome to you and hope that your experience here will be worthwhile. You are about to become a part of the greatest project ever endeavored—an attempt to save our Earth and right the wrongs that were done to others thousands of years ago.
What is required is an explanation of what to expect.
For as you will soon see, ShinKami is not an ordinary school.
Do not be alarmed at the lack of teachers when you first enter the classroom!!! This is to be expected. ShinKami does not run on the schooling of educators (although they do contribute to the lesson plans).
What you will find is that our schooling is done completely by technology; our students read and interact with the lessons by using a Tablet PC (a computer with a screen you can write on with a stylus. This will be explained to you in your orientation lecture). This is also how quizzes and tests are taken…along with the written portions of the final exam.
These beginner’s classes are to prove to us your self-control. Our lack of teachers at this stage, at least, is a test to you, as well as a challenge to take it upon yourselves to further your own learning. Take our challenge, or turn it down and be expelled quickly. The choice is yours, dear pupil.
Classes are only half of the whole experience, however; to advance to a new level (and become more specialized in your field of expertise), you must go to your directed Professor to get a “final exam.”
This will require intensive study, problem-solving application, and creativity, especially so with the magic users on the last one (but we won’t tell you why, just yet. Where’s the fun in that?). Don’t be afraid and have faith in yourself!! Making it here is an accomplishment. Know that you CAN do it!!!
On the next page you will see an attached list of classes as well as the requirements they fulfill. We hope you choose wisely and enjoy learning. We look forward to working with you!!!
Sincerely:
The Administration Norman Prinwaltz, Headmaster Dante Araquenosse, Advisor Herei Fang, Advisor

A modern translation (lol):
The most surprising things about this “classroom” is that there are no teachers at all, but rather rows of computers. Students themselves come in and study, doing quizzes, tests, and lessons via electronic Tablets (a write-on screen with a stylus), and students who prefer to work on paper can print out these materials for free…or they could not come at all. This is meant to be used as a sort of self-control exercise, as you are not required to attend classes.
Studying is done via RPing in the “classrooms.” This only fulfills their class RP requirements, however; the growth quest will be an exam issued by the teachers which will involve study outside of GaiaOnline, in real life.
Especially important to note is the requirement for the School of Magic; they will be required to write a story of a Goddess, as interpretation and creativity is essential, as it might change manager views/perspectives on said Goddess.

The Classes:
-Language Studies Rather than learning the languages themselves, students will learn about the different languages and how they influenced one another. It is believed doing so will lead to quicker comprehension of foreign speech and, perhaps, a rudimentary method of communication. Requirements fulfilled: School of S&T, School of Magic
-Advanced Mathematics Students here move beyond problems and charting and instead focus on a more practical approach to mathematics, with reviews of the techniques used to solve the problems in different links on the page. Students may also use this to connect to an international “chatroom” of learned mathematicians for interview requirements or help on their problems. Requirements fulfilled: School of S&T
-History of Planet Earth Students take a look at the geological development of the earth and how certain conditions influenced flows of mana or human ingenuity. Particularly studied is the Middle Ages, when all races but the humans fell into darkness. It is necessary to understand as much about the potential allies as possible. Requirements fulfilled: School of Magic
-Study of the Human Body An anatomy course that features comprehensive guides to the human organs, systems, and body structure for the students. In addition, more abstract, ethereal elements of anatomy, such as chi, the flow of mana, and acupuncture, will also be discussed. Requirements fulfilled: School of S&T, School of Magic
-Ancient Arts Students will study the different types of magic that have developed through the ages, spells associated with these techniques, and even theories that have been presented in contemporary literature and entertainment (video games, ect.). Furthermore, human deviations of these (tai chi, acupuncture, ect.) will be analyzed. A very intensive course. Requirements fulfilled: School of Magic
-Introduction to Science and Technology A basic course that is a must for the S&T student. Study here will focus only on the 1970s and forward, from the development of the first computer and the most recent research in scientific fields at the time. Studies of the mechanics, as well as three science courses of the student’s choosing, are covered. Requirements fulfilled: School of S&T

A note on quests:
. Essay quests should be at least 3 paragraphs long, with a proper intro and a proper conclusion.
. When we ask you to do "research" on certain things, it does not mean you have to go on wikipedia or search for stuff in real life (well you can, if it helps). In this case, we are asking you to use your imagination and create something in full detail out of your mind.
. When we ask you to cite sources, we are not looking for any real life sources (GONE WITH THE MLA FORMAT!!!! D<<< *shot*). All "sources" you'll need to cite are found in the bookstore in Chikami Mall. RP a little in the mall about how you got the book/info in the book and cite the name of the book at the end of your entry.
. Essays for quests should be written in the student's journals, while misc quests should be carried out via RP in perspective forums. ( For example, if you are asked to bake some cookies for Headmaster Norman, you should have a PRP with Norman as well as RPing in the Chikami Mall to simulate how you got the ingredients for the cookies.) There should be a summerization of your quest experience afterwards, but it doesn't have to be as formal as the essay quests.
. At the end of every quest entry, post in bold letters that your quest is complete. We will then look at your entry to see if they fit the basic requirement. If they don't, we will edit your entry and tell you what you need to do to fix and complete the entry.
. Which quest you chose to do will influence on what growth quest you receive, thus it will influence which school you will be going into in the future. So choose the quests wisely!
. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Also, be as creative as you can and have fun with your quests~~
How to RP in Classes:
. The first thing to remember is that you need to take initiative. RPs in the Basic Learning class is different from the rest of the class RPs in that there will be no NPCs or managers to start the RP, so don't wait for someone else to start! Pm one of your student buddies or talk to them in the thread so they can join in once you have the RP started.
. Pick which class you want to take. There are classes that only satisfies the requirement for one school. You can RP in all the classes, but keep your interest in mind. The amount of RP in each class will partly determine which school you will be going into in the future. For example, if your student is interested in the school of magic, frequent RPs in S&T related classes will likely result in your student being forced into the school of S&T by us. (Note that you don't get a choice of which growth quest you want...we assign them to you.)
. Be active in the RPs. Seriously, don't let others wait on you forever. If you think you won't be active for a while, make an exit post in the RP showing that you are no longer in the class. Yes, you can enter and exit the RP unlimited times. Although in order to get the credit, you must have exited the RP at least once.
. Class RPs in this forum are for registered students ONLY. You cannot come back here to RP when you are promoted to upper level schools. So keep that in mind.
. Contents of the RP should be class-subject related. Even if there is no teacher monitoring the class, side-talks should be kept to a minimum. After all, talking about food in a math class is not what you do in real life (at least, not common), so don't let the class be that way in here either.
