Ears flatten against his head, Ravi had too much on his mind, too much to think about. Emotions ran high and ran low. One minute he'd want to lash out at something to alleviate his anger and the next he'd be so down that nothing could cheer him up. Golden eyes were lit with an unexplained fury at the moment as he wandered through the grasslands. There was no place for him to go, he didn't want to be back with his mother and Kol anytime soon. He still couldn't believe that they wanted him to learn how to fight! The very thought made his blood run cold! He was no Firekin monster! He was a kind-hearted lion. Though, in retrospect, he was changing from what he used to be into something much, much more.

His golden eyes spotted a weak gazelle up ahead and was going to try his luck on hunting. With very little hunting experience, he needed all the practice he could get. Crouching low to the ground, he stalked after the gazelle, only to leap after it too soon and having it run off. Not in a good mood at all, a scowl was placed on his features as he stalked away.

Shimah had just recently left her home and was out back in the rogue lands. She didn't travel far before she saw a gazelle run close by her and a lion chasing after it. She could all but shake her head at the male and his fickle attempt. Didn't he know anything about hunting, she mused silently. She walked towards him and noticed that he was in a bad mood, "You were too early with your approach. It always pays to have a little patience."

A voice brought his hard concentration as it criticized his hunting practice. Ravi was not in the mood to be around others at the moment, so he placed a snarl on his features and spoke sharply, "I didn't ask for your advice. So leave me be and go where you need to go." He turned and flicked his tail in annoyance before heading back in the direction where he was heading. Hoepfully, he could lose that green lioness though something about her triggered a memory in his mind. Her color seemed almost...familiar in a way. A little more thinking on the matter before it came to him! Those green cubs from the Pridelands who tried to play with him! He couldn't recall their names that clearly, but this must be a sibling or something related to them, as they would be about the same age. Ears were flat agains this skull as he just wanted to be left alone.

Shimah heard his snap and took it calmly. She would do no good to make the situation any worse by saying something back. She just watched him go on his way before something tugged at the back of her mind. There was something that told her that this situation had more than met the eye. She went after him and spoke quietly, "I was just making a comment, I didn't mean to offend or anything. It didn't look like you knew much about hunting and I was hoping that it would help you." She noticed he tried to look all tough, but she could see right past that. This male was hurting.

Her words pierced his heart as his mother was supposed to get around teaching him how to hunt better. It wasn't his fault he was not that good at it, and here was some stranger telling him he was bad! To make things even worse, he was being followed by the female as well. Stopping in his tracks, he turned his head to stare at her. "Is there a reason why you are following me? I want to me left alone, so leave!" He growled slightly at the end to make it more threatening, but in his heart, he would never hurt her or anyone else for that matter. He couldn't raise a paw against another lion, it was his downfall for being so caring.

He continued back on his trek towards no particular destination, just as long as he was away from his mother. Deep down, he needed to experience more things and become more knowledgeble about his surroundings and he couldn't do that with someone tagging along after him. Plus the fact that he didn't even know this female and she was being so nice to him!

Shimah was a bit taken back by his words, but she was persistant. His threat did nothing to scare her off as his eyes told her a different story. She knew he wouldn't lay a claw on her, his eyes told her so. "I am Shimah. I don't really have a reason for following you, but something tells me that you need help and I am here to offer it." She sped up to the male so she could keep up with him, "It didn't look like you knew a lot about hunting. Would you like some help?"

Man, this one was surely stubborn. Ravi was about to turn and snap at her before he thought about his action. That was rude and not like him. Stopping in place, he took a deep breath to calm his raging nerves down. Just a breather, that's all he needed. After a few seconds and feeling a bit better, he turned around to Shimah. "I am sorry, there is a lot going on right now and I shouldn't be taking it out on you, Shimah," He paused before raising his head slightly, "I am Ravi, pleasure." At her offers to help him with hunting, he shook his head. "No, it's alright...I need to learn how to do things on my own, by my own. I thank you for your offer." And that was it, he just wanted to leave and be on his way.

Shimah felt her spirits fall a bit, but at least she was making progress. She now knew his name. Ravi. She smiled to the male, "It's nice to meet you, Ravi. And don't worry about it, we all have our days every now and then." She didn't pry into his affairs, they were his and his alone. She noticed that he seemed like in a hurry to go some place and she was curious as to the big hurry. "It's alright to want to experience things on your own, but it can help to speed some things along with help from others. If you want to take up on that offer, I'll be more than glad. I had no where to go, my family is back in the Pridelands. Though, you seemed preoccupied, but I won't pry." She continued to follow the male, hoping she could be of some assistance.

How could she know that he is having problems? Was it really that easy to detect? Ravi sighed and turned back towards Shimah, "Could you just go on your way then? I don't really need any help..." His words were caught in his breath as he noticed golden sand in the distance. Oh no...that can't be the desert! That just can't be? Was he unconciously going back to the place where he fears the most? Golden eyes were wide with fear and shock as he was rooted in place. "This can't be..." The words came out in a whisper as he didn't know of any other deserts around this place other than the one that held the red pelted monsters. "We have to leave...now!" And with that, he turned and ran off, not really caring if the female followed him or not.
