The little body wiggled closer to the tree. The rain was coming in sheets, leaving a mess of fear in the little ones mind. She hated storms, but it wasnt so much the rain she hated, she loved the water. But lightning.. That terrified her, and she grew scared. She huddled under the tree, trying to meld with the earth.

Chael walked outside freely, treading lightly in the storm with his face tilted up to the sky. Chael wasn't much for the rain...yet this was as close as he ever was going to get to Snow around here. Thus, he took whatever chance he got to walk out in the rain and imagine it to be cold snowflakes hitting his face. Pausing for a moment the large male shook out his pelt of the rain in a fruitless effort to keep it dry when something caught his eye. There was Tethys, huddled under the tree shaking.
"Tethys!" Chael called, a mild protective nature consuming him as he quickly trotted over to the child. Bending down, he nudged her cheek slightly with his nose. "Tethys...are you alright?"

The little femme looked up at Chael, and instantly she felt a bit safer. But instinct told her to beware the electricity being shot from those dark clouds. She shook her head at the older Malu, and tried to weasel in close to him. "I dont like lightning.."

"Its okay....there really isn't anything to be worried about." Chael spoke gently, laying down to give Tethys shelter from the breeze and lightning. Using his paw he gently stroked her fur down, seeing it was matted by the storm. "Did you know, that lightning strikes mostly the tallest thing around? Right now, I'm more of a risk than you are..." He chuckled lightly, trying to comfort the young femme.

Tethys offered a childlike smile, and cuddled into his body. She looked into his eyes, and spoke softly, still slightly rattled. "You are? Then why would you stand so tall? Arent you scared?"

"I'm scared of a lot of things, Tethys...yet there are times for caution, and times to hold your head high. Often, the only thing to fear is fear itself." He confided, turning his head to look out into the rain with a smile on his maw. "I mean, I like the rain...why would I give that up for lighting?"

When spoken of this way, she understood. She gave a smile. As she was cuddling, she got to thinking again, and it was of many things, and she wasnt even sure what she was thinking of. She sighed. "I love you daddy.."she said. Her eyes got big, and she paused, and looked at him.. "Im sorry.." she said in a small voice.

Smiling gently as his head turned back to gaze down at Tethys as she snuggled up against his fur. However, his eyes widened as he heard her small voice and blinked. Daddy? Quite suprised that she had said such a thing, he was in no means angry or weirded out. He had said he would care for her like any parent would, and Chael always kept his word. "Don't be sorry. If that is what you wish to call me, then so be it, as long as I would be able to call you daughter." a soft chuckle escaped his lips as he gave her a wink.

She smiled, and her face lit up. She stood, and licked his cheek in a way of affection. She had a daddy now. No one would make fun of her! She had a daddy! She smiled, and started dancing. "Sure!"

Chael laughed as he watched her dance around merrily, it was slightly weird to suddenly be a father to someone; yet it was also heartwarming. "Its settled then, I have a daughter, a cute one too." Bringing his paw up he ruffled her head and stood, taking a step out into the rain as the droples rolled down his fur. "Would you like to come for a walk in the rain with me?" He inquired, gazing down at her with his bright blue eyes.

Tethys stared out into the rain, and knew she wanted to run and bathe in the water. She loved water. It was like it was part of her. Offering a child-like nod that was a tad exagerated, she smiled, and started jumping around, "Is there anywhere interesting awound?"

Chuckling at her excitement, Chael was quite glad that she wasn't afraid of the weather anymore. Taking a few more steps out in the rain, he took a moment to tilt his head back up and let the rain splash on his face. Taking a sigh, he imagined opening his eyes to see a vast field of sparkling white as more flakes drifted like they were peices of the clouds of heaven. Yet as he opened his eyes, he was only met with grey skies and one happy little Maluess.
"Heh, there are lots. We could go explore in the temple, walk over to the desert, perhaps climb the hill nearby?" Chael offered to his daughter, tilting his head as he was curious to where she would chose.

Her little eyes narrowed as she pondered the idea. Where did she want to go? She imagined herself flying down the cliffs in the rain, letting it hit her pelt with grace and herself laughing a** he glided. Upon thinking of that, she stretched her little wings. "Why cant we do all of it?"

Blinking, the arctic male thought for a moment...her request was quite brilliant actually. Shaking his head as he laughed, he moved his head down to give a playful tug of her ear. "You're quite smart, that you are. Alright, all it is. Now....which first?" He grinned lightly, yet another thing she would have to think about now.
