Almost 5 months since my daughter was born, and a few weeks ago, I found out that I am pregnant with my fiancess child. We are hoping for another girl, but as long as the baby is healthy, I don't care what the sex is.

I say congratulations because you sound excited, but I also wish you the best of luck. I don't say that to sound horrible, but my two girls are two and a half years apart and that's plenty close enough for me. Best wishes to you with the pregnancy and with your engagement/upcoming wedding. heart

That is very exciting. My first 2 were 22 months apart and were a hand full. But I enjoyed about 95% of the time with all 5 of my children.
No greater joy, no greater heartache.

Congratulations to the both of you! I hope this baby is a great experience and brings you all closer together as a family. And it's good to know that your daughter will be at least a year old before the new baby gets here - I met one mama in my midwife's office whose surprise second baby was due a few weeks before her daughter's first birthday! Boy was she swamped. My mom always said she thought a good distance between children was roughly 18 months (far enough apart to be individuals, close enough to have shared interests), and it sounds (based on my bad math skills) like you'll be pretty close to that. Please let us know how you're progressing!

Hm, thanks for all the congrats, and I will keep things posted. But, as it turns out, I have to pick between staying in the Army, or get a disshonorable discharge. And I don't want that....so, I've got alot of thinking, and praying, and more praying to do.

Nothing is ever easy that is worth while.
My grandmother always used to say "no good deed goes unpunished" I used to try to correct her to quote it correctly, but the older I have gotten the more I understand why she said it the way she did.
Good luck and keep us posted, will you?

Congrats on the pregnancy! I agree you are brave to have them so close, but kudos if you can handle it!

Im also curious, the army is going to kick you out for being pregnant??? o.0;;; Isnt that against some laws??
mad

No it isn't aginst the law. If you go into the army pregnant, or you have a problem you never told them about, that could affect your training or your job, whatever it may be, they will give you a disshonerable discharge. But, I've been thinking, and what I've come up with is, if I did go in, I would miss watching my daughter crawl, maybe take her first step, and say her first word. I would miss so much of her life and I don't think that i would ever be able to bear the fact that I did miss all of that....so....joining just doesn't seem worth it to me...not if I am going to miss seeing all of that.

What a tough decision to have to make...ugh. I hope your daughter grows up knowing just how special she is to you - it's a wonderful thing you're doing.
