From what I've heard from people who have the manga, they say they don't know who wins. The manga ends abruptly. It ends right before Yoh and Hao fight. The last battle but then it ends! We didn't even get to see how strong Ren, Yoh, Horo, Chocolove and Lyserg's new spirits were! It's so annoying...

in the end Hao sucks out Yoh's soul. Yoh's crew flips out and fights hao. (even manta with masuke) basically yoh's spirit kinda drifts around inside hao and its one of those "i wont give up" moments and he comes back. He then fights hao, but its basically no use. BUT, in the end everybody's hopes power him up and it makes a big amidamaru, wearing complete samurai armor, using the double medium as a regular sized sword and slices hao and great spirit of fire (he eat the king of spirits) in half.

I read the last volume in the original Japanese. It was sad! Hao doesn't win, as far as I can tell, because in the last chapter "Funbari no uta" (song of funbari), it shows Anna and Yoh's son along with the futures of other characters; for instance, Horohoro has his field of Koropokkur and Lyserg is a detective. The only major characters that DON'T appear are Faust and Manta. For reasons... that I can tell you through a PM. They're pretty major spoilers.
Some people have speculated that, since Yoh's face isn't very clear in the last chapter of volume 32, he might actually be Hao. (personally, I don't think Anna would agree with this, so I'm not in this particular group of theorists.) However, Shaman King's abrupt ending probably has more to do with Takei getting ticked off at the popularity in Japan dropping. See, I think one of the meanest things in the world to do is take out your anger on your fans. The ending could have been much, MUCH better.

Actually, Takei said that the person Anna was walking with was a combination of Hao and Yoh. :3 Sounds pretty cool yet I wanna know how that happened. Funbari no Uta = Incomplete like Shaman King. Takei is strange when it comes to finishing stuff. xD And also quite annoying for the dedicated fans of his animes.
