In Fleep's (a Gaia Developer) journal, he posted this:

Yesterday: The Battle System would have been promised but lack of resources would mean it wasn't getting built.

Today: I saw a working demo of the Battle System.

He was basically comparing how things have changed over time at Gaia. But look at what this means! Considering they were just showing us concept art and ideas back in August, they've apparently made a lot of progress in just a few months time.

Looks like we may actually be seeing this thing happen sometime this winter. I'm hyped.

This will be awesome. I just hope with the time they are putting into it it will be perfect and not glitchy. That would be a nice little chrismas present.

I don't think so, not in that the Pet(items) themselves will have any use. When the first public version is up I'm sure someone (me or others) will come up with setups that make it look like the Pet is doing something. There is most humorous position for Gwee and the Clover hat I wouldn't mind bring into the Battle System.

I don't take issue with idea of the Ring System. Since we will need something to store the new information why not make it an item? It could have just as easily been a certificate or diploma or something like that.
