I'm curious to know what everyone's takes on Doujinshi are?

As some of you know I run a Gundam Doujinshi guild, and I'm wondering what everyone opinions are on the subject.

Basically a doujinshi is a fanmade comic using certian pre-created characters. But it also describes the size of the actual paper produced material. Some books are short maybe no longer then an individual manga chapter. Others are quiet thick and not alwas illustraited but written in text. But they are pretty much created to a certian standard size much like Manga are except they are larger then your adverage japanese manga. However these doujinshi are not as mainstream as Manga are and are often slightly more pricey to obtain.

But returning to the point of Gundam Wing, has anyone collected Gundam Wing Doujinshi before? If so what kind do you normally pick up? Or do you find scanalations online to read?

Well, I do like Gundam Doujinshi, regardless if it's hentai or not. But I'm not a fan of the yaoi part of it, regardless if it's hentai or not. It just creeps me out is all. But if it's something totally random and not usually seen, like if the boys from GW had to babysit and none of them know how to even take care of a baby, then it might be funny.

A couple of years ago at a convention, I heard a vendor discussing Wing'a yaoi pairings with a customer, and stopped so I could discuss and debate. After a little while, the vendor observed that I was a Heero/Relena fan and suggested one he had in stock. As it turns out, the author/artist of that one has done quite a few post-series doujin, all of them Heero/Relena, and she occasionally does hentai (though it's always tasteful and romantic).

Also, I've seen one doujin where Heero and Relena were portrayed as chibi cat-people, who were owned by Duo and Dorothy respectively and basically treated like cats. It's very cute, especially Neko-Heero knocking Wu Fei out with one kick, or the first meeting between the kitties.

I can ask around to see if there's any Trowa/Midii Doujin...... they might be a really rare pairing. I think the closest you get to Trowa with a woman is Trowa x Catherine (nothing hentai)

Yes indeed, the one I have (Since 8 is the name) is presented by Bambi Takada, and is set post-series with the guys all in Preventer, and if I understand it correctly, Heero finally learns what Odin had to do with his namesake. I've also seen a couple of her H-doujin...honestly, I'm glad to see that not all that stuff is rape and PWP, but I do wish she hadn't made Relena so flat-chested...

But yeah, if you've got some places, that would be cool.

The thing i find most unfortunate about Gundam Wing doujinshi, is that the majority of it was made in the 90's.
There's not a lot of new stuff floating around, so what is available is getting to be 10 years old, and of pretty low quality (because the stuff made around '97 and so was often made on the cheap).

biggrin I talked with my boss from the Gundam Fantasy project. She believes that there are some Trowa Midii DJ's. If she finds any she'll scan the covers or give me the names. XD This woman owns ALOT of Doujinshi so it's quite possible.
