Ears drooping unhappily, Red XIII used his nose to nudge what had been left of the flower throne he and Vara had once made. Or more specificly, that he had once made Vara when she was a mere kit.
Obviously, though he did visit this spot, the clearing in the forest, occasionally, and replaced any dead flowers...well, it was hard to do so when there weren't many live, unpicked flowers left. The cold weather was looming over the Feli grounds, and even the slightest of winds brought shiver's through the fire tailed Feli.
He did what he could. Trying to nudge the flowers back in place, or trying to find fresher ones. The wind and weather decided that they didn't want their fun to be ruined, however, as they seemed to grow even stronger as a great gust of wind smacked at the 'throne'.
Whether you call him an idiot, a packrat, or what, Red XIII couldn't bring himself to rid of it, even if all it did look like was a dead, pile of leaves. He hadn't seen Vara for a while now, and thus, he wanted to preserve any and all memories he had.

Two firey eyes glanced around with slight confusion. "Hmm. Uh...." Golden ears swiveled around, trying to maybe capture some sort of idea of where the feli was located. Vara, though she wouldn't admit it, was sort of lost. She hadn't been around for a while and hadn't been to Red XIII's spot for a while.
Brown eyes glinted up at her. "You're lost aren't you?" Pippin, Vara's little companion, grinned in a sort of 'I told you so manner'.
"No!" She looked around and shoved off down another path. A rather rocky path. "It's this way..." She added a soft "I think" under her breath.

His easharp ears suddenly pricked up, and he whirled around quickly, his single, good, golden eye scanning the trees around him. Of course, due to the fact he was blind in one eye, his depth perception was pretty off, thus giving him a disadvantage. His sharp hearing may make up for that, however.
As usual, he wasn't really referred to as a 'social' Feli. The only friends he really had were...well, his family, and Vara. He did have a soft spot for kits as well, though he never met many of them. Or at least, not enough to befriend.
And Red XIII hadn't seen many of his family members, or Vara, for some time now. He almost forgot how to act properly, and how to greet others. For most of the time, he lay here, watching as the weather got colder and colder, and trying to avoid others.
Back arched, he growled a bit. "Who's there?" His voice rang loudly through the clearing.

A sharp squeal was the only reply the male got. Pippin flinched and latched onto Vara's legs. "Lets go back Vara!!" He started tugging, but it didn't really do much.
Vara's ears perked up excitedly. She had been going the right way. She knew that demanding voice ANYWHERE! Suddenly, the excited seraph started charging towards Red XIII's voice. A dangorous move, but something she had always done. She burst through some bushes, leaving Pippin with a mouth full of branches, and squeaked loudly. "Nanaki!!"

Ears pricking higher, the male's heart skipped a beat. He'd recognize that voice anywhere, and only one person ever called him Nanaki...
"Vara!" Forgetting his lone, anti-social demure, Red XIII padded - or to be more specific, dashed - towards Vara, only to tumble into her in his haste.
"V-Vara!" He said again, now shaking a bit. "What brings you back here?" Then, voice lowering quietly, he shook his head. "I...I haven't seen you for quite some time. How've you been?"
Then, noticing the small kit at her side, he almost fell over. "W-who's this?"
WOAHVARADIDN'THAVEKITSDIDSHE?!

Vara tried to get out of the way, but her momentum just would not allow it. She ended up smashing into Red XIII and slamming onto her back, just short of landing ontop of Pippin, who seemed to have held his breath seeing this scene.
A huge smile was plastered on her face as she poked gently at the male's pelt as if to check to make sure he was really there, then looked around. "Wow. I've missed it here." Her eyes finally shifted back and rested upon the male. "I've been doing well. I've..." She coughed slightly and muttered something about missing him.
She giggled nervously, then popped up. "Oh yea." She nudged Pippin in front of her. "This is Peregrin. Pippin, this is Na...Red XIII?" She smiled sheppishly between the two.
Pippin looked the male up and down. "NaRedXIII? That's a dumb name." He made a slight 'what were they thinking' face at him.

And again, with hearing as sharp as his, he just managed to hear the tiny mutter that Vara had ended her sentence with. His cheeks flushed a little red (But luckily for him, it blended in quite well with the hue of his pelt), before he muttered a similar thing in reponse to Vara.
Then, turning towards Pippin, he rose a single brow. For a moment, he was silent as he examined the kit up and down, before he finally spoke. "My name is just Red XIII." He said, matter of factly. "Though I do appear to posess another name. It's a...er...pleasure to meet you, Peregrin." He felt odd speaking formally to a kit. Or at least, he LOOKED like a kit...he appeared far too...small...to be an adult.
Red XIII decided not to say anything outloud, and instead turned to look at Vara. 'Eer...your...brother or something, Vara?' His eyes asked silently.

Vara placed a paw on Pippin's head, a signal for him to behave himself, then chimed in. "He's...." She cocked her head to the side for a moment. "I guess he's sort of like a brother. Not a real one. I just watch after him and everything." She nodded and smiled.
Pippin dodged Vara's paw and circled Red XIII. "Nice to meet you too." He looked up at Vara and grinned evilly then forced a kit like smile up at male. "So...You must be Vara's mate?"

"Aah, I see." He offered Pippin a nod of his head. At the small Feli's comment however, his face grew red, and this time, it was actually sort of noticeable against the red of his fur.
"Aah...well..." Shifting a bit, he glanced over to Vara. Well...he was very...awkward in situations like these. Or perhaps that was an understatement.

Pippin snickered then turned to Vara. "I think I accidentally broke your mate. He's all red and stuttery." Pippin looked up at Red XIII. "Well? It's not that hard of an answer. Either yes! Or no!"
Vara covered Pippin's mouth and grinned with embarassment. "Don't mind him. He tend to talk a lot...espectially when people don't want him to." She blushed a little and pawed at the ground. "You don't have to answer him." She looked around trying to find SOMETHING to change the subject to.
"Oh!" She hopped over to her old throne. "Wow. This thing is STILL here?" She squeezed her adult sized body into the throne that was made for her as a kit. She made a face and laughed. "I don't even fit properly." She giggled hysterically.

It took him a lot of effort not to send a look Pippin's way. Like Vara, he too had been looking for something to change the subject too.
Watching Vara squeeze her adult body into the throne, a grin spreadover his maw, and then he began to chuckle. Well, come to think if it, even if he had kept it around for as long he could, for one thing, Vara wouldn't even be able to fit into it anymore.
"Yeah...I -er- thought it looked kinda of nice before, but now that winter's coming..." He trailed off, as the dead flowers spoke for themselves.

Vara made an uncomfortable face and then smiled. "Well. So much for my throne." She giggled and made a playfully demanding face. "I demand a new one!!" She squeezed out of her undersized throne and nuzzled against Nanaki. "Now!" Giggling loudly, she scurried around him and stuck her tongue out.
Pippin huffed at being ignored. He padded over to the throne and looked at it. "You're a bad throne keeper." He curled up in the throne after Vara got out of it. "Hey this is kind of cozy though." He rolled around in it, not noticing Vara's quick nuzzle of Nanaki. "So, Mr. Red XIII, can you make me a new one in the spring?" She gave him a sad, childish face, just in case the male was thinking of saying no.

The male laughed as Vara bounded around him, and in turn, he gave her a grin. "Oh, well, I'd have to THINK about that..."
He then ignored Pippin's first comment, but grinned a bit at his second one. Glancing down at Vara, Red XIII chuckled. "Well, I GUESS so. Once it's spring again, that is." He hadn't ever meant to say no, but teasing her was just as fun.
"Would you want one too, Pippin?" He asked, staring at the kit with a risen brow. He honestly was nice to kits...even if they didn't seem to like him.

Pippin rubbed Red XIII's legs as a 'yes please'. "Can you make it extra big?!" He hopped excitedly, but stopped and made a winey face. "Are you going to make more if you and Vara have kits?!" Pippin let out a loud whine at the thought of everyone having a throne.
Vara stared at him for a while and blinked. "'Think?' Since when do you do that!?" Vara laughed at her little joke but nuzzled him gently as to make sure he wouldn't get mad. Vara's eyes got a little big at Pippin's comments and her cheeks burned red.

Red XIII snorted. "Extra big it is," He agreed, with a grin.
Then if it were possible, he grew even REDDER. "K-kits?! Me and Vara?" He glanced towards the caller, and turned away quickly as he felt warmth rise on his face.
"Anyways, how about we go for a swim?" He cleared his throat, avoiding looking at either of them. Oh, he'd get over it once he cooled off.
Maybe.
