I was kind of surprised that I didn't see a topic on this.
A classic for all anime fans, Ghost in the Shell took the world by storm in 1996.
Stand Alone Complex is now just as popular.
Both are beautifully animated and worth watching.

I bought the first two volumes because they came with the soundtracks.
I find them interesting, but not for me. I love the music, but I just couldn't get into the anime itself. I liked the movie though smile

I found her character a bit different in the series. Not exactly as I thought she would be considering her personality in the movie. But the series is very good. I just can't get into it.

i like everything about this series and movies. the manga is pretty good too and drawn really good.

Kinda, the colouring is a bit different, but they do look the same, for the most part

I don't think it followed any, I only read a little bit, but I didn't see anything about the laughing man. Given, I don't really remember the movie that well, so it might have taken off from there.

For the first few episodes, it completely lost me. Eventually I gave up on it. This is one series I don't think I'll ever understand. sweatdrop
