So Steve Irwin got killed by a bull stingray, right?
He was just swimming over it - I'm sure we all know this - and it shot its tail up and jabbed him in the heart. People say he could've lived if he'd left the barb in, but he obviously didn't. I didn't think it was true at first - I didn't want to think it was true, but it seems I was wrong.
It's old news, but that old guy in America got stabbed similarly by an eagle ray, straight through the heart. What saved him was that he didn't pull the barb out. I really did love Steve Irwin, and what annoys me is that the lack of such a small action of ripping that spike out of his chest would have saved him.
What's strange is that Steve was killed by that stingray, because he was doing nothing to it. That elderly guy in America - the ray literally jumped into his boat, thrashed around and just so happened to pierce his skin, then jumped back into the water. And he survived.
Fate's so weird.

I knew he could have been saved but I didn't know anyone could have survided. But it's a natral reaction to pull somthing out if it's stuck in you so I can see why he did that. But only if he didn't crying Fate always been werid so kick it an extra time for me 3nodding
I swam with string rays before, but they couldn't sting. I feel really bad how some people are trying to kill string rays because they killed steve irwin. and string rays are so soft and cute. (Except it they kill you rolleyes )

I don't know, but when I went to swim with string rays the person that was supervising told us about the string rays. He said they weren't that dangerous and that they only attack when they feel threaten. He also said the some people were trying to kill sting rays because they killed steve irwin.

Yeah, in just about all cases animals only attack humans because they feel threatened.
Then there's the odd case of the surfer in the black swimsuit being mistaken for a seal by those great whites. But hey, shark's gotta eat. It's a shame that so many people believe that those dangerous animals are out to get them, or rather that so many people are afraid of them.

Yeah, it's really ironic what happened to Steve Irwin. He wrestles crocs and deals with the most poisonous snakes, but a stingray killed him. It was a totally freak accident.

Well, Steve was a fighter. When you're in pain you react in different ways. Were he not in so much pain maybe he would have remembered not to do that, or he would have taken more time to think. In that situation, who's to say even the most educated would have acted differently? Either way, pulling out a stinger is a really hardcore thing to do. That takes a lot of resistance to pain and even bravery. I know I wouldn't have been able to. It's unfortunate it resulted in his death, but man is that tough.

Well, we will probably just wait and see what Bindi Irwin does. She could be the NEXT crocodile hunter. It seemed so unreal when I first heard it, I always thought he would get killed by a croc or something. Perhaps of old age... but never a stingray.

It seemed so unreal when I first heard it, I always thought he would get killed by a croc or something. Perhaps of old age... but never a stingray. Death by a crocodile would be extremely fitting for him.
He said he wanted to go down in a croc's jaws and shout, "crickey!" just before he died, to go out with a bang. Shame he didn't, the way he died - in the water, unable to say anything - makes him feel so distant. But a crocodile wouldn't kill him (and I've probably already said all of this, but I haven't been here in awhile and I can't remember exactly), because he grew up with them and had lifetime experience.

I swear, the world isn't going to last for long. First we get all this conflict and outrage, then the natural disasters, and now all the fun people are going to start dying. It's terrible.

<---You said
Well actually he did do something to the ray. Without meaning to, he just wanted a closer look. So he swam over it. Beside the ray was a rock and above was Steve. The ray fealt cornered. So it defended him self. It's so unfortunate that such a great man had to pass away like that. He Did soooo much for the animals!! He is forever a hero to me!!

I red an article in a magazine that said the stingray was covered in sand and Steve wanted to get a closer look at it, so he touched it a little to get it to come out and that’s what made it sting him. But I’m not sure if that’s the truth.
