UPDATE: I wasn't kidding when I said I hate opening links! I'm sure I'm not the only one! If you're having trouble finding appropriate hosting and can only use DeviantART, please consider Imageshack. It's free, it doesn't require an account, and bandwidth shouldn't run out on you. Please, anything but links. Come on.
Important Posting Rules.
Once you have been accepted, if you are a visual artist, you need to make a thread displaying your things. It doesn't have to be a wide range, but it's a good idea. If you are a writer, post a short story. This needs to be either the first thing you do, or one of the first. Also, please make sure to introduce yourself in the "Meet the Members" thread.
General Rulexxor
1. No unfair bitching if you want in and for some reason are not accepted. This is a public guild, so you can go on posting even if you don't have your name on the member list. It's not a big deal, it just means that your art either isn't art faggy enough, or your doodles aren't up to our ridiculous and retarded standards. However, I mean, we still want you around. I like to help people, but I'm not going to lie, I made this guild to get all the artists I admire together, so we could throw art at each other. I plan on this guild having A LOT of tutorial resources, so even if you aren't here to join, feel free to hang out for the learning.
2. Please don't harass people for commissions. If you ask and they're like "sure", then that's cool, and if they say "no", don't bother them about it, and ask in a month or so if you're still interested. But don't ******** with people. Conversely, if you accepted a commission, either refund payment or do it.
3. If you wanna have a "CG'ers are all cheaters" fight, get ready to be in it for the long haul. Most of us are real big on CG painting.
4. Don't be an a*****e to people about their drawings. Anybody is allowed to come in here and create art threads, and if the art is really shitty, then that sucks, yeah, let 'em know it's shitty, but don't be a total a** about it, I don't need that, and I hope we're all better than that. We'd better be.
5. If you don't want a critique, DON'T COME HERE. This is not a buddy-buddy "OMFG I LOEV UR ART (eventhoughitisdrawnreallybadlyandhasastupidconcept) SUUU MUCH IT SUUU KAWAII SUGOI SUGOI KAWAII!!! ^_______________^" guild. You have DeviantART for that.
6. No shitty Texas jokes.
By which I mean "by all means, make shitty Texas jokes".
Member Guidelines
When you apply to the Guild, please provide me with a link to your work.
If you are accepted, the first thing you should do is make a thread that showcases your work. If we get enough members, I may hold a Weekly/Monthly spotlight.
Also, feel free to share art from your friends who aren't on Gaia, or talk about your favorite artists (I'm a big fan of Josh Middleton, myself).
Your Posts
Try to post new art at least twice a month. I won't kill you if you don't - but it really helps. I like how the guild has been fairly consistent in its activity, but there are other good artists out there and we need to attract their attention, and one way to do this is by being active.
PLEASE, if possible, do not post links. I just - I really hate opening links to look at art, then switching back constantly to give critique. It's annoying. Please try to give full sized images without stretching the tables. If this is not possible, okay, but at least try.
Art Fags
This guild is pretty dead.
