Oh I just love how some of the people on GCD are complaining about the Halloween event not starting on the weekend! We even got international complaints from an Australian! xd

I agree.
Next thing you know, they'll be wanting real candy mailed to their homes!
I hope the admins don't cave on this one. A 48 hour event that gives Gaians a fair chance at obtaining whatever over-saturated rare items is more than good enough. If things go as badly as past events, it will take the first 14 hours to get the servers squared away and working properly.
Given the changes in the general Gaian economy model, I don't think it will really matter.

Well, the details have been rolled out. Quote: [NPC] Cindy Donovinh Welcome to Gaia Action 9 News! Gaia's special 2006 Halloween event is set to start tomorrow at noon, Pacific standard time. The event will run until 11 PM Pacific standard time on Friday, November 3rd. To read the exclusive interview with Ron Bruise and the aliens, check out this thread. For the latest discussions about the event, please check out the super-secret Area 91 forum. The event begins Tuesday and runs till Friday. I'll wager that Max is correct as far as the Gaia servers crapping out for the first half day. That's the standard procedure for big a** events here. Well now that you mention it, I was getting an invite from someone claiming to be a Leader X, then again he tried to get his weird buddy Berg Katse to get in as well. Damn him and his syntho voice.

The event is underway.
The NPCs are handing out candy and Jack is wandering the map pages.
The entrance page for the Guilds is broken at the moment, so I'm relying on my browser history to get in here.

Meh. Another set of Halloween duds to collect. Take a look at the items in the Marketplace and see if you want to waste an hour of your time earning the 10 chunks of virtual candy to satiate the stalking Jack.
And the servers seem to be glitching in a new and annoying way. In the past hour I've had to log in over 20 times to stay in the game. Something is afoot... ninja

The admins have pulled the candy game offline. Something's gone way wrong and it won't be back up until sometime Wed. I should have bet on this happening!
Oh, and my Mochi's charging his laser!

Wow...there are a couple O_O costumes the NPCs are wearing this year.
Anyway, the only item that looks interesting to me is the mis-colored Spider-Man Mask...I mean the Jack'd Mask.
Chances are that's the last item you get, and I really don't feel like bothering.

Finally I get a chance to check out the event (with my avatar dressed as the 10th Doctor). Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow for this zapping/probing thing. Candy's workin' fine, though. So that's something. I did not need to see the jewelry store lady dressed as Medusa eek

Man, I don't really care about the event this year.
However, Zed-Oh-Em-Gi, Moira and Vanessa's costumes are MEGASEXY. Mm cartoon boobalage.
We should totally side with these aliens. I mean, they want to eat Gaians' brains much like us.
