Behind the Fat Lady lies the Gryffindor common room, which leads into the different dorm rooms. It is a place for Gryffindors to relax, sleep and do homework etc...

Karen sat down in one of the over stuffed arm chairs before relpying.
"Because I have no money, the end," she said bluntly.

Lisha looked at Karen, "Is your family poor too?" she asked

"Yeah I guess you could say that," Karen said. "Here," she gestured to the chair across from her. "Come sit down. I'll answer the rest of your questions."

Lisha sat down with a small plop, and immediately started asking a slue of questions, "When do classes start? What classes are your favorite? What are the different classes? Is that burning all the time?" she asked the last question pointing at the fire.

"Classes don't start until Monday since tomorrow is Saturday. My favorite is... Defense Against the Dark Arts. Um... there's Transfiguration, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, and lots more," Karen thought for a moment. "And the fires are kept going by the House Elves that I told you about earlier." Karen braced herself for more questions.

"We learn stuff... and I'm not sure how the house elves get around," Karen was beginning to feel really tired.

After what seemed like an eternity, Lisha stopped asking questions and started nodding off.

Karen could hear other students coming to Gryffindor Tower.
"I'll take you to your dorm," Karen said as she helped Lisha out of the chair. They walked up the stairs on the left side and stopped infront of the door marked 'First Year Girls".
"Here we are," she said.

"Further up the stairs to the fourth year dorm," Karen said as she continued to climb the stairs.

"Probably," Karen smiled. She haddn't done so in a long time. She dissapeared up the stairs into the dorm, leaving Lisha standing infront of the first year's dorm.

Lisha looked after her for a few moments, then went into the room, and looked around, wondering what to do next. She eventually found the bed that had her stuff, and went over and sat on it, watching as different girls her age came in.
