so yeah, why the heck did they get rid of one of the best holidays from the new game? I mean, Christmas is religious, but who's against Halloween??? (even though animal crossing cristmas was totally a Santa X-mas)
This is depressing...

The covewr story of this crisis...
In the original AC for the cube, it had all these American Holidays. They included these because they belived that it was fun and Nintendo was right. The only problem in the AC:WW was that in was online and trying to go with a mass market, a lot of people around the world don't beleave the religousness of these holidays. X-mass removed and some people would find halloween to be offending to them. The prevent this, they decided to remove all "REAL" holidays and place in their own made up holidays. Nintendo knows that this would hurt it a bit, but most people would be a bit suprised and be sadden, but would continue to play either way.
In Japan, both halloween and Christmas is just an event to sell stuff. Yeah, Christmas in Japan is like another Halloween like holiday to them, they just view it as a day to give presents to peolple and have stuff sold to them for cheaper. There is no religous signs anywhere in their X-mass because most of them are not Christians and don't believe in Jesus. So Nintendo decided to remove chrismas because the people in Japan don't really understand the trueness of x-mass. Halloween just seemed to be another thing like Christmas, go around and get candy, but that isn't really important they decide and remove it as well. Along with thanks giving and ground hog day and valentines.
So sorry for those who love actual holidays, but maybe you can decorate your own stuff and get online and make up the event or something.

While I can't say anything about Halloween, AC:WW does technically have a Christmas. The snowball thing starts on the 25th.

That's not really christmas, unless you like making perfect snowmen so that you can talk to them to get items from. Snowmen, how akward this may sound, is really Christmas related to many people. Usually they think of Santa first than the tree and the gifts. Than they think of the religous aspect and then the meals and family. Last comes the snow men, and they seem to be generic to many people. What I mean is that the snowman isn't offending to a mass of people. Many cultures that have snow in there area make snowmen for the fun of it without believing in Chrismas. So,... eh...yeah. If you think of snow for Christmas than yeah, but if not that yeah either way. Snowmen are cool like that I guess, (no pun intended).

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing. I knew there was no Halloween long before it, but still.
You're basically limited to doing your own thing on wifi. If I had wifi I'd have hosted a costume competition.
