After a long while of debate over what to teacher this student it had finally come to him. There was a note sent home to the child and the parent saying that they were meeting outside. A small area with trees that were in their fall colors. Some were red, some gold, some orange, some of them were even brown. There was a cool breeze that blew in rustling the leaves and caused a few to fall from the branches and swirled around Orpheus. The man was wearing a coat and looking the trees over, they were perfect of many different colors and species. This would help out in the up and coming class.
Standing alongside of him in shorts and a tank top was Ligeia, arms crossed behind his head. It would seem but the owl child and his dragon were enjoying the currently, cooler temperatures. The opposite could be said for Ter who was only complaining about them and currently hiding out inside so that he didn't have to deal with the cold. His sons were so opposite he was sure they were never going to agree on anything! Ligeia was hanging out with him until class started, he and Vorel were then going to head out for flying in the cold. They were convinced that if they flew up high they would be the first to know if it started to snow.
Orpheus only hoped that the time of snow was still a ways off.

Slowly one warmly bundled luna moth and mother came wandering over the grass. Aysel reached up, readjusting her scarf. It was chilly out and honestly, she hated the cold. At least she was wasn't wearing as much as her mommy had originally dressed her in, and the extra girth seemed to be helping insulate her. A wide grin split the girls face at the memory. Curiously she looked ahead towards the teacher and his son.
Tara walked next to her daughter unconcerned for the weather. She was used to far more extreme temperatures than this. Looking down at Aysel, she started talking quietly. "I want you to be careful allright. Follow the teacher's directions, but if you think it's dangerous don't do it," the mage said forcefully. "I don't know if I'll be staying or not, but you remember how to contact me? Just press the red button allright?"
Aysel nodded at the appropriate times mind on the upcoming class. All they had been told was when and where to show up. Hurrying up, the luna moth soon came up to pair. "Hello sir. I'm Aysel and this is my mommy. We're here for the class?" she stated. Glancing to the side a bit she tried not to stare at the boy and dragon. He had wings! Part of her wondered if that was what her wings would look like when they came out.

Orpheus gave the girl and her mother a smile, "Welcome, this will be a fairly fun and simple class, its based actually upon colors." He told her as he motioned to the various trees around them whos leaves were various colors of fall.
Ligeia gave a smile as his father started into the teacher role and he laid a hand on Vorel's head then turned to walk away from them to a distance so that they could work on what needed done without being close enough to be in the way. He sat down on the ground, leaning against Vorel so that hey could watch and be there if they were needed for anything.

"Colors?" Aysel repeated doubtfully. She already knew her colors. That was little kid stuff and she was... well, not a little kid. "What about the colors?" she asked looking at the leaves and trees. So they were red and orange and yellow? And?
Tara nodded, "Will you need me for this class?" she asked the teacher quietly.

"You are welcome to sit and watch if you like but its not required that the parent stay for the class." He told Tara, giving her a smile before turning back to Aysel, "Colors, at the moment your stage of life would be that of a cocooning catapiller. Do to this its been told to me that teaching you how to use the cocooning that you have around your form to your advantage would be a good idea."
He walked closer to the many trees, "So here we have several varaities of trees, your task is to find which one your cocoon matches the best with and thusly which one you could camoflagues best with and hide in."

"I'll be back in a little while," Tara murmmered to her daughter before walking off.
Aysel looked after her mom for a little bit, biting her lip before turning back to the teacher. Trailing after him, she glanced at the tree's. Obviously the bright red leaves wouldn't work. "What...exactly, do you want me to do?" the luna moth asked, still not entirely sure on this thing.

"You will just need to find the tree that you think would be best for you to hide in if the need ever arose." He explained, he really hoped that there wouldn't be a need for a girl her age to have to hide in a tree among the leave for protection but it was a skill that would be handy to have just in case, "Easiest way to look at it would be matching colors. Where would you blend in the best."

Aysel looked at the man doubtfully. How was matching colors going to help her? She still had the bright green skin showing through on her face and hands. Still, it was a class and mommy had told her to follow the teachers directions. And the easist way to do that was to... go up and compare herself on the tree. Fortunately there were a lot of different trees.
Glancing back at the teacher to make sure she was doing this right, Aysel wandered up to one of the trees. Brilliant red leaves clung to the branches while she looked up. Holding up hand up, so it layered across the tree, the luna moth looked over at the teacher. "Like this?"

This class would be easier wouldn't it if she had more of the cocooning and less of the green skin like she had pointed out, though only some of her skin was left uncovered, "Hmm. That one matches more with your eyes then with your cocoon." He said, "Though a good first try."
(( Was thinking maybe she could eventually find a tree that hadn't fully changed over? Like still had some green leaves along with the brown ones? Just a thought. ^_^ ))

Aysel nodded at the teacher's statement. Obviously she wasn't going to match the leaves on this particular tree. But it did give Aysel a clue that as obvious as it had sounded at first there was still a lot she needed to consider. Glancing around tree dotted landscape the luna moth disregareded every other brilliant red and orange tree she saw.
For a little bit there was just the crunching of dry leaves underfoot. Then the luna moth came to a large old oak tree. Unlike the other tree's this one's leaves simply turned brown and fell. The luna moth held her arm up against the tree with a frown.
Glancing back at the teacher she spoke, "This is better right? But the green stands out some..."
((That or an evergreen might work. Brown and green, and still dense enough that she wouldn't immediately stick out. It's up to you, since you are the teacher! ^~))

It must be hard for animals that relied on camoflague to keep themselves protected Orpheus thought to himself as he watched her as she moved to a tree that he would have thought would work well, it had the brown leaves that cocoon, "Yeah, your right... I wonder." He looked around to see if there were any trees around that contained green since she had a lot of green to her and since when she shed her cocoon she would be very green.
He spotted a small grouping of trees, ones he'd not thought anything about when setting up this lesson as he had thought more on the cocoon itself and not on the girl's color as well. Evergreen pines, he chewed on his lip as he looked at the girl then to them, he wouldn't say anything and let her find them herself but it was a thought. They had the green needles and the brown trunk and branches, so they had both of her colors in one.
(( Naw, its cool I like your idea. *nods* ))

The teacher trailed off as he glanced around. Trying to follow his gaze Aysel studied the trees once again. The concept wasn't really that hard, find the tree that matched her colors best, which would be a whole lot easier if she was just a normal cacoon instead of a hybrid thing. However, Aysel's eyes alighted on an old half-dead tree. It had barely started changing, so some of the leaves were green and some were a dull brown.
Hurrying over to the tree with a triumphant smile on her face the luna moth nearly skidded to a stop in front of it. Holding up her arm she was about to turn triumphantly to the teacher when a frown replaced her smile. This tree wasn't any good either. Sure the colors matched but... With a sigh she frowned at the tree. It was old and half dead which meant that there were only half the leaves on the tree left. Large gaping holes of sky shone through the branches, big enough to completely give her away if she tried to hide in it. The luna moth turned back to rest of the trees with a sigh.

"That was a very good guess." Orpheus told her, not wanting for her to get upset when she was in fact doing well with this. It wasn't her fault that the trees were wanting to match her exactly, "Maybe we are going about this wrong? We need a tree that you match yes. At the same time though we need one that will hide you." He made a motion at the trees they had been trying, "These ones wouldn't be useful to you since the leaves will fall from them."
He went back to looking like he was thinking after giving her the clue about looking for one that didn't loose its leaves. Or well in the case of the tree he had seen its needles.

Aysel brightened up. "Okay..." the girl replied to her teacher. The luna moth considered the hint carefully. All the other tree's would eventually loose their leaves so even if the colors matched... they wouldn't be much use in hiding. But the hint had helped. There were tree's that didn't loose their leaves, and they were green and brown as well!
Aysel grinned as she hunted for what she thought would be the right tree. Finally spotting it the luna moth scampered over. "This one! It's green 'nd brown 'nd since it's a pine tree it doesn't loose it's needles! Plus it's really thick 'o it's hard to see through anyway.

Orpheus couldn't help but smile, she sounded so happy over finding her tree, "Very good, very good." He said, clapping, "Wanna try climbing into it and hiding?" He dug a camera out of his pocket, "Will take a picture and you can take it home with you to show off your awesome camoflague skills."
(( And treasure in particular Aysel will want? Jewelry or loose gems is what he gives out to those that pass his classes. ))
