First, I should probably explain WHAT Salvia is for those of you who either have never heard of it before, or are unfamiliar with it. I am only going to ask about Salvia Divinorum because this is the most widely used. A better explaination than what I can give is at wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_divinorumMy question is, what are your opinions on this? I mean, its been used for AGES, but I really have a hard time believing that it is OK to use a drug to help/enhance one's gift (especially in today's world).

I know some wiccan rituals use various drugs to assist with the experience. But even if the person responsible for the drug is aware of correct dosages per body type and how the drug will affect each person who uses it based on chemistry and such, there is always a risk that something will go wrong.
Personally, I don't recommend using them.

Drugs cloud the mind in my opinion. there is no way that it enhances any kind of gift. drugs can enhance man things, but not that. A gift is used with best results (in my opinion) when in as natural of a state as you can get. (some even meditate and such in the nude O.o) Drugs are, in a sense, changing your body. I don't suggest it.

I agree with you. but they shouldn't be called drugs. marijuana, salvia Divinorum, Psilocybe mushrooms, and many others come from nature. and Nature has proven us countless times that it is the answer to everything. What I would call "drugs" are unnatural things made by man like; crack, meth,Morphine (starts out as plant but is then processed with chemicals) and others that you might know of in the world today.
Now a days, very few people object to the use of the plants as bad. Only few who have taken a try understanding to what a drug is have seen that what we consider wrong in this world are truly not as evil as we think. (marijuana being one of them that has shown us how the government has lied and used false information for profit)

If its natural and I am in full controll then it is possible to use them as part of workings.
But not all the time.
There is a fine line between working with herbs and being a druggy

These natural ones actually do seem to provide a better understanding of things. I know that personally, I felt more connected and in tune with the Universe. However, I don't need to do it again since I can recall on my experiences and the way I felt.
