Hey everyone, I think some sub-forums are in order, or in the future will be in order to help seperate things.
So, how should we do subforums, what should we make them, how should they be set up, etc.
I was thinking of this:
subforum #1- fact threads, any thread only containing facts and not a historical evaluation or some other thing would go into this subforum; for members who wish to read about facts. [note that you can just produce 1 fact per thread just to make polls, and randomly teach people facts].
subforum #2- General Discussion/Extended Discussion- Anything that is either light relaxed discussion or more polticial and religious debate can go in here, this is for those who like theology or just to relax and get to know each other without having to always 'technically' learn something, somewhat how we talk in the Welcome thread right now.
subforum #3- Chatterbox, the random forum for everyone to just post something random, or to mass produce polls so that if someone is in need of polls theres always somewhere to go to get them.
Main Forum: the Knowledge Forum, this is the forum we have now, it will be used similar to how it is used now except the only fact threads that can be posted in here are the ones which contain multiple facts, this forum is for threads that focus on learning new things and that will be heavily discussed, and possible argued.

Why I made the Knowledge Forum the main forum. The knowledge forum is the main forum because this guilds first and foremost priority is to teach each other, to learn from each other and expand our knowledge of the world, and other things. I also wanted the main forum to be the Knowledge forum because if this guild picks up a lot of members I know a ton will run straight to the chatterbox, and the Knowledge forum will just be a forgot subforum that no one cares about.
Why I made a chatterbox. I know some of you probably think its a dumb idea, but a lot of gaians just want to relax, be random, or have extremely light/random conversations. It is unfortunate but I believe the best way to keep this guild active and going is to pick up a large number of users which would then instantly draw people who are interested in knowledge to the guild, but until then we need other members and a chatterbox would be perfect for that; not to mention it would give us another source of polls incase anyone needs to make lots of gold.
General Discussion is for anything you guys want to talk about that is not linked to actually learning, but can be linked to theology if you want to argue theology or politics or something else, like whos better Superman or Spiderman.

However, I do not like the idea with the chatterbox. I think we should have an "OC" forum. Kind of like in a roleplay, where people talk out of character, we should just have something that partains to questions related to knowledge. If perhaps you think you have a fact down wrong and would like to see if someone else knows it right there should be help given on that. =D
But a chatterbox...it sort of takes away the purpose of the guild, which to me seems like a learning environment, Maybe a "Chatterbox thread" or something... I just don't like the idea with numerous polls and with gaia's new system not earning all your gold for your polls and stuff.
that's just my opinion though =3

Edit - And if the chatterbox sub-forum was actually just for small talk, anything could be talked about, books, music, movies, celebrity gossip. Gold would be saved as well.

And I thought the GD was bad....I've never actually ventured into the CB and have only recently gone into the GD.

Well there is a difference between facts and historical, poltical, religious information. Facts are sometimes random bits of information that really can do nothing in life but be used to spew out randomly at people in order to impress them, or to come to a conclusion about something.
A number of intellectual people dislike facts for this reason and I think that perhaps seperating them could be a better idea, I dont know if we'll do it this way or not, it just depends on what you all think.
I guess we can name it something else, but the "Anything" forum xD I'll think of a better name that gives us that idea.

seems like some sort of organization like this would be a good idea... i would definetly provide a chatterbox like area just for people who feel like spouting words...
edit: the knowledge forum can include the facts forum... but there should be some rule that you have to state something like. "facts only" or... "not really historically significant..."
