There were two times when the stallion was often seen; sunset and durring the dark hours of night. Rarely was he seen wandering about in the sun... This was one of those rare occasions.
Fiery hooves pawed at the ground as he gazed upon his reflection in the stream. He'd managed to 'ditch' most of the feathers that had been strewn through his mane by the young native who seemed to think that he looked 'pretty' with them... All of the feathers save for the one tucked behind his ear.
His nostrils flared as he snorted softly. It didn't look all that bad, did it? No. 'Course not. Nothing could ever look 'that bad' on him. He was just a naturally attractive stallion.

"Oh, I just cannot believe this!" Sighing in irritation and annoyance, Elizabeth Swann tossed back her mane of brown curls, the better to glare at a large tear in the hem of her ball gown. She had been walking along, minding her own business, and then gotten snagged by a rude tree branch whihc had proceded to tear her dress. Consequently, almost all of her lower hind legs were visible!
"This will never do; I absolutely can't deal with these frustrations!" If she had had hands, at that point Elizabeth would have thrown them up into the air. Instead, she sighed once again, glanced back at her torn and trailing skirt...then perked up her ears. Running water? Well, it wasn't quite as nice as a seamstress...but a nice brisk drink and maybe a swim would be just what she needed to cheer herself up.
That in mind, she trotted off down the path in the direction of running water, breaking into a wide smile when the shiny sliver first came into sight. "How absolutely delightful!"

The mare might have missed him as she neared the water... But he, most certainly, did not miss her. How could one with eyes miss something such as the sight that stood before him? She was lovely in appearance with beautiful curls falling over her shoulders... And a horn. That was a new feature he'd yet to see...
But something took his eyes away from the 'natural' appearance of her beauty. Yes, something was enough to distract him to the point of outright staring without being anywhere near 'smooth' about it. She was wearing... A dress?
He shook his head quickly, trying to clear his mind. Maybe he'd nibbled on a bit of bad grass or something... No. The mare before him was still wearing a dress. He nickered softly to alert her to his presence, lowering his head for a moment.

Elizabeth had originally been so focused on the idea of a swim that she hadn't even noticed the prescence of another Soquili; however, even she could no avoid noticing upon being nickered at. "My goodness!"
Whirling about to face the one that had greeted her, she blushed shamefacedly upon realizing that it was a stallion; a stallion, and her looking like some...common street tramp! This was simply not her day, and the forces of fate seemed determined to remind her of that fact.
However, let it never be said that Elizabeth Swann couldn't rise to any occassion. Her cheeks still scarlet, she raised her head up in a dignified fashion and then bowed her head politely to the stallion, attempting to ignore the fact that her dress was torn and focusing on good decorum. "Good afternoon to you, Sir."

"G'd'aftah'noon, chere." He placed one hoof before him, stretching out his neck as he lowered himself in a bow of sorts. He could be a gentleman when he so chose to be so and, at the moment, it would serve his needs just fine.
She was still lovely, even as that color flooded her face and he had to struggle to keep from laughing outright. There was something so... Silly. Yes, that was it. Silly. There was something so very silly about seeing a horse wearing a dress. "What brings you to my neck o'tha woods?"

Head held high (if a bit stiffly), Elizabeth gave the stallion a brief once-over as he bowed. Well, at least he wasn't a total crumb like the last stallion she'd met; perhaps it would be possible to get out of this particular scrape with her dignity intact.
However, she found herself staring a bit more intently as he started to speak. What a remarkably unusual accent he had! He must be foreign, or something along those lines...but what nationality spoke like that, and how did he get all the way out here?
Those weren't the sort of questions that any proper lady asked of a stranger, though; and therefore she simply stifled them, the better to respond to his pleasnatly banal question. "Oh, I'm simply enjoying the afternoon by strolling in the woods; 'tis a nice day for such pursuits, wouldn't you agree?" Nice and polite, but not intrusive; absolutely perfect. Now, how to get out of this situation entirely...

Fiery eyes remained fixed upon the mare, gears in his mind whirling as he contemplated just how one could hold their head so high comfortably. He couldn't do it... No, not when it was far easier to just dip his head down from time to time, tossing his mane back afterwards.
"Oui, chere... Ah agree. Beautiful day... 'Course, ah sure it be lots more comfortable if you jus' relax a bit. You look like you waitin' for somethin' to jump out o' tha woods with how tense you are... An' that dress? It can't be comfortable at all." He nickered softly, shaking his head. "You hidin' somethin' under there?"

What what? She looked like she expected something to jump out at her? How very...blunt of him. Lowering her head very slightly, a faint frown crossed Elizabeth's face as she regarded the strange stallion. Didn't he know how rude his whole statement was, critiquing her posture (which was naturally perfect) and her dress! Especially her dress...
"I beg your pardon, sir, but I'm afraid that I don't see what it is that you're referring to. I assure you, I am quite at ease with both my surrounding and my garment." Maybe not so much the garment, but that was because it was torn. And what on earth did he mean by hiding something? Good Lord, she didn't even know how to respond to that one! Consequently...she simpy maintained her dignified pose and acted as though his last comment didn't exist. "In fact, I'm excedingly at ease right now."

"How can you not see how stiff you are, chere? Wit' how high you was holdin' your head? Can't see how that comfortable." He couldn't help but laugh, a slight grin tugging at his mouth as he lowered his head, eyeing her skirt. "How can you walk in dat? Never seen a mare wearin' anythin' other than feathers before..."

...What? Ok, Elizabeth had given this...this...individual a chance; in fact, she had given him two chances; but obviously he had no breeding whatsoever! That was the only possible excuse she could come up with for the strange stallion's very personal remarks..and what on earth did he mean by having seen mares in feathers? It sounded positively indecent!
Flattening her ears, she awarded Remy a cool look in response to his comments, but kept her head up proudly. Uncomfortable and stiff, was she? Well then!
"There is absolutely nothing stiff about me, Sir; if you think that this is high, then obviously you were never instructed in proper posture growing up and for that I pity you. And I assure you, walking in this is quite easy." A little discomfited by his scrutiny of her clothing, Liz twitched the skirt slighty, smoothing out the front so that it covered as much as was possible. She definitly didn't want this peeper seeing anything; though from the sound of it, he got enough of that from the immodest other mares running around! "Going about without clothing is indecent." That should give him the hint!

He tilted his head back and laughed, unable to keep himself from doing so. "You think 'bout what you jus' said, chere... If bein' a Soquili without clothin' is indecent... You, a fine lady, be in the company of an unclad Stallion. I ain't wearin' none o' that cloth stuff... It ain't natural 'less you a two-legger."

Laughter might be the best medicine, but in the current circumstances it was hardly appreciated. Giving Remy a suitably cold stare, Elizabeth raised her head even higher. She wasn't exactly sure what he was implying by bringing up the fact that he was unclothed, but it was certainly not in good taste! As a lady, she was NOT going to go staring at his...unclothed self; but the way he said it made it sound like either she was indecent or she should worry about his intentions towards her! As if she would even CONSIDER such things...
"You might be unclothed, sir, but a lady never passes judgement on the taste in clothing of those she encounters." Not out loud, anyway. "Though I must state that running around unclothed is a habit that far too many Soquilis in these parts seem to have; perhaps a custom would be a better description." And no, that didn't mean that SHE would join them!

As if he would ever consider such things... He might be a scoundrel but the Lady Mare, whose name he hadn't yet caught, was nowhere near his type. He preferred his mares natural. This mare? Oh, she was anything but... Especially in that odd dress-lookin' thing.
"Sounds like you passin' judgement now, chere." He laughed again, tossing his head back. "That tone 'o voice speaks wonders... Y'know, y'shouldn't knock somethin' 'less you tried it."

"...If you're implying that I take up nudism, I'm afraid that your suggestion is falling on deaf ears. I've never tried cannibalism either, but that doesn't mean I don't dissaprove of the idea simply on principle." Frowning, Elizabeth watched as the strange stallion laughed at her. She wasn't really sure WHY he was laughing; from the defensiveness of his words, laughter seemed to be oddly out of place.
But the longer she talked to him, the clearer one thing was beginning to become: he really didn't know the etiquette code at all. "Do you always talk to unfamiliar mares with this degree of personal familiarity??"

He was laughing because she entertained him... Because he couldn't quite fathom how a mare could have her knickers in such a twist. Was she wearing knickers beneath her dress? Exactly what were knickers anyways?
"Y'know... Y'wouldn't be all that unfamiliar if y'd give me your name." His brow lofted as he tilted his head to the side, trying his hardest to keep from laughing once more. All he needed was another mare in some sort of tissy because of him.
