Okay so I admit I haven't seen all the GA episodes and sometimes on the show bailey sends someone to 'the pit' what exactly is the pit? It's probably a stupid question but I really don't know!

I thought they liked the pit?
or maybe just some of them do, because you can get in on the cases as they come in.

Yeah they don't seem to like the pit...
I think it's because some of the people there aren't surgical cases so they don't get to go to the OR.

Yeah i think that the pit is where all the patiants come in and most of the time everyone hates going there because they usually have to do stich people up. But if your Alex and you were on the gynie squad the pit is heaven.
