On the deck of the Lonjinus, Incarte read over the incoming damage reports from Del Cielo ships. They had taken a very high toll. He dreaded flying into such a dangerous situation.

From the front of the deck a Communications officer, Lieutenant Sarah Alpine, watched the signals from the regions patrols. A signal came in from unit 5.

"Patrol unit 5 calling Lonjinus! I've got several unidentified LFO's and airship flying uncleared; possibly smugglers or a Rebel fraction...Requesting backup!"

"Captain Incarte." Alpine said. Her headphones covered one ear and she typed in a few years to send a response. "We have confirmed your transmission Unit 5. Hold for confirmation."

Looking towards the Comm officer Incarte spoke,"What is it Lieutenant?"

"We have an unidentified ship in air space near Del Cielo. Unit 5 is requesting backup." Alpine said.

"Very good." staring out the main screens he smiled. "Tell him to engage the targets and that help will join him shortly. Prepare the KLF's on board for action."

The lieutenant did as ordered,"Unit 5, engage and detain. Backup is being prepped for interception."

Captain Incarte opened another comm signal to the Captain of the Del Cielo bombing ships. "UF ships Izumo and Belgerus we have confirmed a convoy leaving your co-ordinates. We are moving to intercept. Please rendezvous with main fleet at Tower City Hazel."

"Thank the stars for small miracles," the captain thought to himself,"At least we won't have to enter the damned able Voderak's territory."

As the battle raged outside the Lonjinus Captain Incarte held fast to his chair and watched the reports flood in from the lower decks. Hull breaches had been reported from levels 32 through 27. To make matters worse the brig had lost control and that blasted escape artist Niko had made it out.

"Manning! Good work on the counter maneuvers. Alpine, radio those straggler Units and tell them to engage the enemy ship." Incarte rang out. The ships alarm was blaring on the bridge.

In the light of a flashing emergency strobe Manning looked over the helm controls and veered the ship in a starboard turn. The two enemy LFO's on the port side were uncomfortably close and Manning wanted to put some distance between them and the Lonjinus. "We still have full operational status sir." he yelled over the sirens.

Incarte yelled back,"Kill the sirens but leave the ship in high alert. Send repair teams to levels 31 and 28. Ships security, send two armed teams to the brig and secure all detainees... and security. If I lose anymore detainees because of this fiasco... Heads will roll."

From the Comms desk Lieutenant Alpine called up to him. "Captain, the late arrival Units are not responding to our calls. They seem to be tracking on a new LFO. The markings are... Sir it's the Silver LFO from Tripa. The one Intelligence officer Soriel sent out orders to recover."

"Tripa?" Incarte said "Alpine did you set the camera's to record battle photage?"

"Yes sir. Although I'm not sure how good the shots of the pirate's ship is. The interference, along with there sudden dive made it hard to record." Lieutenant Alpine responded.

"Don't worry about that,"the captain snapped,"I want recordings on all LFO's involved. Radio those units again and tell them to turn on ships recording systems and continue there chase."

"Weapons. Prepare for another volley. Manning line up another shot at that ship. I want it on the ground this time!"

As the Lonjinus veered back towards the Rehk the units following the Silver LFO continued to pursue.


Eventually a group from another team approached following an unkown LFO. they seemed to be pursueing it venomently and refused to help in the battle. The LFO tore them to peices one by one.

Captain Incarte watched as the tapar waved rolled across the sky in front of the lonjinus. It seemed to come straight up from the ground like a gaizer and flowed out from between the two ships.

The helmsman yelled up to the captain. "Sir, I'm having a hard time manuveuring. The trapar flow is running counter to out path. It's a heavy head wind."

Almost before he could finish the ship bounced on it's axis and turned almost straight up and down. One of the wings let out a horrifying metal groan under the presure of the wave and seemed to scream at is bent at an unnatural angle and then returned to it's normal shape.

"We can't make it into that wave sir. It's staring to turn. Seems to be going in a circular motion now."

"VEER TO STARBOARD!" Incarte screamed "Follow the line of the trapar and circle around this thing."

In the second ship that was to rendezvouz with the Lonjinus, Dusana sat in the captain's chair. She wasn't really the captain of the ship, which meant she forced the captain off the chair, but it was hers in a way.

The communications officer on the bridge began to speak. "We've made contact," he spoke. "We'll be meeting up with the Lonjinus in about ten minutes."

Dusana looked down and nodded. "Good," she said. She had her usual bitter look playing on her face. She had her right leg crossed over the other. Her elbows were resting on the arm rests and her chin was placed on both of her index fingers. She looked out of the front glass towards the horizon, waiting for visual sight of the Lonjinus. She was pondering her mind just why she was meeting up with these people in the first place, forgetting exactly what her commanding officer told her the reasons were.

Aboard her own ship, Dusana could spot the Lonjinus heading towards them. The two ships began menuvuers to dock in mid-air so Dusana could meet with the representative.

Once that was accomplished, Dusana got out of the chair and walked to the area where the two ships met. She had an entourage of soldiers from her squadron following behind her. They all looked the same, wearing the same clothes and even looking the same in physical appearance. Such was that of being in the army; all being the same.

Once the group reached a door, Dusana waited for the representative to come over from the Lonjinus and onto Dusana's ship.

Dusana looked at her with a displeased look. "For me," she said, "that would be a demotion."

((*ahem* Let me explain. In the air and ground forces (common military ranks listing-thingy-bobber), the rank of major is that of two above lieutenent and one above captain. Also, it happens to be one below colonel. In the United Kingdom (which is the one I'm using for Dusana) it is the equivilant of a Squadron Leader in the RAF (Royal Air Force). I did my research. Don't question Wikipedia. razz ))

Getting past all of that, Dusana pressed the girl for the true reason they were meeting. "What is it that you wanted to discuss with me?" she asked.
