ive been fooling around w/the same kinda thing. heres what ive thought of so far. If im not mistaking one of the epics is an instant. well if u can get the mana (one way or another) cast one then the other as an instant, they are both on the stack so the whole u cant play spells thing is out the window. also, i suggest having an elvish piper out so u can get creatures into play. anyway every turn u get both epic spells and no real drawback. if u cant win after that, u dont need to be playing at all.

correction. they are all sorceries. better idea. use something that makes u discard 2 epic spells, preferably the U and the B one, then put them both on a spell weaver helix. play one u get both and then every turn put any card from their deck into play under ur control and search their deck for X cards where X is the number of cards in ur hand and remove those cards from the game. It's basically a combo killing, deqing kind of deck. put in some pithing needles and have fun.

Elvish pipers are really good. Also, a combo deck could work. Splinter and Myr Landshaper can destroy all your opponent's lands so they can't play stuff either, but you have an epic.
The helix will let you get two out, but they won't copy each other each turn because you didn't actually play them. I don't know if you knew that, but I was just pointing it out.

i don't know, the epic mechanic is a double eged sword. i suppose if you had things that gave you tokens each turn that whould be rad. like that pegusus enchantment or luminous angel. any of the words would work also.

Elvish Piper is great with the epic ability.
It lets you get creatures into play without playing them.
Why don't you like it?

A Green/Black epic deck would very easily work. maybe..

3 Green Epic
3 Black Epic
3 Elvish Piper
4 Kokusho/Jugan (something big)
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Birds of Paradise
3 Arashi, the Sky Asunder (to keep flyers off your back)
4 Eternal Witness
2-3 Sensei's Divining Top
3 Akuta, Born of Ash (Recurring Creature)
4 other spells (possibly something like spellbook, to keep your hand size up)

2 Cities of Brass
9 Swamp
12 Forest

I'm thinking that might be good. Perhaps something that isn't legendary to hold the fort whilst you're doing your epic thing, but I can't think of anything at the moment. Something that can bounce itself, or keep coming like Akuta.

smile good luck building the deck. what kind of build did you have in mind?

Fun, but expensive, idea for Neverending Torment (the black epic) and Endless Swarm (the green epic).

Both spells base their effects off the size of your hand. Ergo, you want a lot of cards in your hand when they go off. But you also want to get a lot of bang for your buck... after all, once they resolve, you're stuck unable to play spells for the rest of the game. Therefore, what you need to do is use Uyo, Silent Prophet, to copy the spells while they're on the stack. Here's how it goes down:

Step 1: Cast Neverending Torment. It goes on the stack. For the sake of argument, let's say there's 5 cards left in your hand after Neverending Torment goes on the stack.
Step 2: Use Uyo, Silent Prophet to send 2 lands back to your hand and copy the Neverending Torment.
Step 3: Repeat step 2.
Step 4: Let the second copy (the one from step 3) of Neverending Torment resolve. The copy of Neverending Torment checks your hand size as it resolves and sees you now have 9 cards in your hand. You proceed to rip 9 cards from your opponent's deck.
Step 5: Let the first copy (the one from step 2) resolve. The epic ability doesn't stop spells that are already on the stack from resolving... it only prevents you from playing new spells. Again, your hand size is checked as the spell resolves, and your opponent's deck shrinks by 9 cards again.
Step 6: The original Neverending Torment resolves. 9 more cards go bye-bye from the opponent's deck.

It cost 10 mana to execute, but you just knocked 27 cards out of the opponent's deck. And assuming that he doesn't lose the game on his next turn because his library is empty and he can't draw, on your next upkeep, not only will the original Neverending Torment go off again, but so will the two copies that Uyo created for you. Assuming you didn't have out a Spellbook (and why wouldn't you if this is the plan?), you should have 7 cards in your hand when those 3 Neverending Torments go off. That's another 21 cards from the opponent's deck.

Alternatively, you can use Endless Swarm to create a massive army of tokens with this trick. And the great part is as long as you have the land for it, Uyo can copy the copies generated each upkeep (though these copies won't have the epic ability and therefore won't repeat).
